my doodle pm dump as promised, I kinda went hard with some free hand, with help of reference.
my thing right now is repeating and really getting my muscle memory down so I don't have to think about my lines or get self critical, because I'm not familiar with what I'm drawing.
repetition, repetition, repetition,repetition,repetition. success.
any advice for drawing folded wings? also, any tips for writing flight?
I have done some tips for writing flight and about wings in the past which you can have a read of here.
As for drawing folded wings - it's all sticks and loops!

It looks odd like this, but there is a method in the madness. 3 Sticks for where the bones are, and loops for the different layers of feathers. The layers and shapes will change size depending on if you're viewing it from the front or back, but when folded, usually the topmost layer of feathers is what is more visible.
Some birds I've met for reference and visuals:

I made some tips on how to draw eyes in a side profile. I am not a professional artist.
