I think we're being too hard on Peter. I mean, he may have betrayed James and Lilly, but imagine him standing there surrounded by Death Eaters And he just thinks, "Why wouldn't I betray them? To them I was just a wormtail; small, scared, not as funny as James, not as cool as Sirius and not as smart as Remus and Lilly. They never took me seriously, I never really belonged. And even if I did, they wouldn't want me to sacrifice myself for them. They'd rather die themselves. Peter always did what he was told, especially when he was scared. I guess he didn't believe that Lilly and James could die. And then he blamed Sirius for not becoming the keeper of the secret, because Sirius didn't dare. From his perspective, he wasn't to blame for anything.
All professors address the students as Mr or Miss, except Dumbledore and Lupin.
