Harry James Potter - Tumblr Posts

Моя нежная любовь к монстрам и детям, дружащим с ними, никогда не исчезнет. И хеллоуинская тема "кошмары" прекрасно для этого подошла.

the changing of seasons at hogwarts is a dream, sometimes I find myself reading books just so I can feel that life, may actually be beautiful <3
None of these images belong to me obvi !!!!

maybe it’s…. subtle.
Honestly, if I was a 12 year old boy forced to prove myself on a quest I’d also have an attitude problem
Harry James Potter

‘Wow, I wonder what it’d be like to have a difficult life?’ said Harry sarcastically.

Just sitting here thinking about Harry James Potter and how much these songs remind me of him:
These remind me of Ron & Harry [when they fought]:
These ones specifically of Sirius & Harry:

This is how I imagine Post-War Harry felt:
I hate that this era in his life was never explored. I want to read about him struggling. Struggling with depression and PTSD. Having issues getting in any sort of relationship(s), going outside and facing the world, constantly thinking about all the lives that were lost, etc. I want it to get ugly and scary with everything he felt after the war ended.

Harry & the Slytherin Six
Hey, HNY! I've just posted Chapter 4 of my WIP Harry & the Slytherin Six. Here's the summary;
Three things happened after the war.
Hermione lost her memory.
Ron didn’t handle it well, started to wear lots of black, work-out relentlessly, fix up Sirius’s motorbike and sleep around.
And Harry let homeless, ex-con Slytherins move in with him until their homes and Gringotts accounts were released. Because, he's a f--ing idiot.
Oh, and Andromeda made him take parental classes - in order for him to have Teddy overnight.
Snaters: Where Trauma and Forgiveness Are Both Crimes
It’s always entertaining watching Snaters juggle their own contradictory arguments:
On one hand, they love to drag Snape for being such a fool because he couldn’t just let go of the past, forgive everyone who wronged him, and forget those tiny details like: being relentlessly bullied, humiliated for years, and nearly killed (because, you know the boys needed their fun.)
According to them, Snape’s real crime is his inability to brush off decades of trauma and grudge-holding. Sure, why not? Just forgive and forget, Snape, because that’s what good people do, right?
But wait—here’s where it gets rich. In the very same breath, they turn around and slam Harry for doing exactly that. Apparently, Harry’s the real idiot because he forgave Dumbledore and Snape and—brace yourselves—named his child (Albus severus potter) after them. How dare he? How dare Harry move on from the past and recognize the complexities of this flawed but ultimately brave and selfless man?
So, let me get this straight. Snape’s an idiot for holding onto his grudges, but Harry’s equally foolish for letting them go? Snape’s a horrible person because he can’t be “healed,” and Harry’s naive because he can grow from his pain? Make it make sense.
Wanted to share this Golden trio fluff:
Who was Harry Potter anyways? The Chosen One? The Boy-who-lived? The Saviour and Golden Boy of the Wizarding World?
Did the press actually got it right when they wrote pieces about him? Could they know what kind of person he was just by the major events of his life? Coul he?
Did Hermione and Ron knew who his best friend was? During those nights filled with dread when the dead became living and the living bled to death in the most excruciating ways. When they were there for him, did they know?
When they took his hand and slept right there besides him, whispering sweet nothings until he fell asleep again. Could they describe who he was with the same certainty one would talk about the lush and green hills in Scotland?
Mione watched him with that look of hers, one of unwavering faith. Her eyes softening as she lulled him to sleep.
The moonlight filtered through the tiny gap between the curtains back in his room in Grimmauld Place, illuminating the seven freckles scattered in her nose and cheeks. A hundred years could pass and he’d still be able to trace those freckles to memory, like one traces the starts and constellations in the nightsky. She’d stay there for hours, stroking his hair and drawing silly patterns in his skin. Like a mother would. Soft fingertips and soothing lullabies.
With the tenderness of a mother, the devotion of a lover and the undying loyalty of a friend.
In those moments he could be sure of one thing: Hermione Granger knew exactly who Harry Potter was: His best friend, the person looking back at her with grief and open adoration.
And Ron. Ron held him while Mione grounded him and brought him back to Earth with them. Soft breath tickling his neck. He was too tall for the bed, so his feet stayed dangling from the edge most of the times.
Ron was home, Ron was family.
Ron was the first person to ever say I love you, his chubby cheeks bouncing as he smiled, honest in his love like only kids are.
There wasn’t much of that Ron in the 6’2 ft tall man that layed besides him. Except maybe his eyes. They were blue, blueblueblue, round and big and completely sincere. Every emotion he felt reflecting back on them.
Violent but oh so soft. Harry had never seen the ocean, but he reckoned that’s how it looked like.
His presence was enough to make the world stop spinning, so he stayed with them: A hand in his arm or a leg tangled between Mione’s.
Always touching.
His silence saying more than a million words could.
I’m not going anywhere Harry. Not today, not tomorrow. Not ever again.
But so they knew? Did they even care?
You’re every Harry love, the ones you like and the ones you don’t
Harry Potter was the guy that passed the Auror official test in record time. The one that later on had a flashback in the middle of a raid and almost got everyone killed.
Harry Potter was the man who stayed alone in New Year’s Eve changing napies and falling asleep besides his godson as he burnt in fever.
It was the five year old boy that one day came home from school with a carefully written card he’d dedicated to his aunt on Mother’s Day.
It was the boy who loved to fly. That felt more free in the air than any place on Earth. That enjoyed the breeze against his hair and the feeling of wood under his fingers.
It was the man that spent half a year in muggle parties with his best friend’s sister fucking his way through London. High with the thrill of anonymity and pissed out of his mind.
The person that loved to control, to humiliate and to hurt: The man more scared of his own shadows than he was of any threat out there.
The one that stood in front of Voldemort when he was 17 and killed him like he was born to do so.
Harry Potter was the man scared of dark and cramped spaces. The man that fell apart in his best friends’ arms and sobbed for hours like he couldn’t do anywhere else.
It was the little boy who looked just like his father, that had his mother’s eyes.
It was the man who loved with every fiber of his being, that loved and loved like it was a race, that burned and consumed and desperately wanted to be loved back. It was the man that remembered Molly’s favorite way of taking tea, that visited Goerge on the weekends at the shop. The one that discussed muggle phones with Arthur. It was the man Andy could always remember his daughter with
Harry Potter was the boy that walked to his death on a cool May evening because he loved, and wanted his friends to live and to be happy more than he wanted it for himself.
And so Hermione stroked his hair, and Ron hid his face in the crook of his neck, and so they’d remind him.
I love all of them Harry, each and one of them
You’ve carried enough burdens mate, leave some of them to us alright? We’ll carry them too

Harry and Snape’s Clashing Communication Styles
It's interesting to think that Harry and Snape don’t have longer conversations in the series, but when they do, their communication styles are so different that they often clash.
Harry’s way of communicating is practical and straightforward. He tends to break down complex ideas into simpler terms that he can easily understand. This makes sense, given his upbringing in a non-magical world and his tendency to rely more on gut instinct than deep theoretical knowledge. For Harry, things are usually black and white, and his directness shows his desire to cut through the confusion and get straight to the point.
Snape, on the other hand, has a more complex and layered way of speaking. His language is precise and often sarcastic, which reflects not just his intelligence but also his disdain for what he sees as Harry’s lack of subtlety. Snape’s use of imagery and metaphor, especially when he describes consepts, gives his speech a poetic, almost philosophical quality. He takes pleasure in showing off his superior knowledge and uses this as a way to belittle Harry.
We see this clash clearly in OOTP during Harry’s first Occlumency lesson:
Snape looked back at him for a moment and then said contemptuously, “Surely even you could have worked that out by now, Potter? The Dark Lord is highly skilled at Legilimency —” “What’s that? Sir?” “It is the ability to extract feelings and memories from another person’s mind —” “He can read minds?” said Harry quickly, his worst fears confirmed. “You have no subtlety, Potter,” said Snape, his dark eyes glittering. “You do not understand fine distinctions. It is one of the shortcomings that makes you such a lamentable potion-maker.” Snape paused for a moment, apparently to savor the pleasure of insulting Harry, before continuing, “Only Muggles talk of ‘mind reading.’ The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are not etched on the inside of skulls, to be perused by any invader. The mind is a complex and many-layered thing, Potter . . . or at least, most minds are. . . .” He smirked. Whatever Snape said, Legilimency sounded like mind reading to Harry and he did not like the sound of it at all.
For Harry, when Snape mentions Legilimency, it immediately sounds like “mind reading,” which is a reasonable but overly simple way to understand such a complex concept. His quick jump to this conclusion shows his need to make sense of something that feels threatening, but it also reveals his limited grasp of the deeper nuances.
Snape, however, can’t resist mocking Harry’s lack of subtlety. His response is laced with condescension as he insists on the complexity of the mind and dismisses the idea of “mind reading” as something only muggles would think of. Snape’s explanation is detailed and philosophical, contrasting sharply with Harry’s desire for a straightforward answer.
Another great example of their different communication styles comes in HBP when Snape puts Harry on the spot, asking him to explain the difference between an inferius and a ghost:
“Let us ask Potter how we would tell the difference between an Inferius and a ghost.” The whole class looked around at Harry, who hastily tried to recall what Dumbledore had told him the night that they had gone to visit Slughorn. “Er — well — ghosts are transparent —” he said. “Oh, very good,” interrupted Snape, his lip curling. “Yes, it is easy to see that nearly six years of magical education have not been wasted on you, Potter. ‘Ghosts are transparent.’ ” Harry took a deep breath and continued calmly, though his insides were boiling, “Yeah, ghosts are transparent, but Inferi are dead bodies, aren’t they? So they’d be solid —” “A five-year-old could have told us as much,” sneered Snape. “The Inferius is a corpse that has been reanimated by a Dark wizard’s spells. It is not alive, it is merely used like a puppet to do the wizard’s bidding. A ghost, as I trust that you are all aware by now, is the imprint of a departed soul left upon the earth . . . and of course, as Potter so wisely tells us, transparent.” “Well, what Harry said is the most useful if we’re trying to tell them apart!” said Ron. “When we come face-to-face with one down a dark alley, we’re going to be having a shufti to see if it’s solid, aren’t we, we’re not going to be asking, ‘Excuse me, are you the imprint of a departed soul?’
Once again, Harry demonstrates his practical and straightforward approach. He gives a simple, clear distinction based on what would be most useful in a real-life situation—whether the entity is solid or transparent. This shows how Harry tends to focus on what’s immediately relevant and actionable, and Ron’s defense of Harry’s answer highlights this practicality. Ron even points out that in a real-world scenario, Harry’s answer is actually the most helpful, contrasting it with Snape’s more academic approach.
Snape, though, dismisses Harry’s answer as too simplistic and mocks him for stating what he sees as the obvious. Snape’s communication is more about the theoretical and precise understanding of magical concepts. He emphasizes the deeper, more complex nature of an Inferius, which, while academically accurate, is less practical in the context that Harry is thinking of. Snape’s disdain shows that he values this deeper, nuanced understanding more than the direct, practical knowledge that Harry offers.
These moments really bring out the deeper divide between Harry and Snape. Harry approaches things with instinct and a straightforward mindset, while Snape is all about nuance, precision, and seeing the layers in everything. Because they see the world so differently, they struggle to communicate, which only adds to the distrust and misunderstanding between them—a tension that echoes throughout the entire series.
Do you think Snape had anything to do with the why the Order confronted the Dursley's at then end of OotP? I always found it odd that this happen's after Harry's Occlumency lessons.
Yeah, I read it that way.
Prior to this, there are other characters who are somewhat aware of Harry’s plight (Ron and the twins save Harry in CoS, for instance), but this intervention feels as if there’s been some extra pressure from someone whose opinion carries weight.
Snape is important here for two reasons:
1) The Order know for a fact that Snape has been looking into Harry’s mind, so they can’t write this off as a mistake or children who are ‘telling tales’ - Snape has witnessed this activity directly.
2) Snape outwardly - and openly - dislikes Harry, and if he’s saying, “Woah, there’s something really wrong, you need to have a word,” - then it suggests the behaviour he’s witnessed is awful.
I think both of those mean that the adult Order members take his warning seriously and intervene.
