This is the system from the Dec 18 ask thanking you! We wanted to know if you or anyone with bpd who sees this may have any, like- tips for being a better fp? We try hard to word things properly (and i'm already almost 24/7 like fucking needing his attention even tho that's not always possible </3) but we wanted to know if there was anything we could do to try to help them and stuff, like with splits and things!

Hmm based on our experiences, some general things that help even outside of splits are stuff like

Just sayin hi to them every day or every other day, i know sometimes we get so scared of other people we unintentionally isolate and don't reach out, so it's helpful when someone reaches out first

Communication is so important. I know sometimes when we're conversating with our FP, and they suddenly go offline without any explanation, we freak out. You obviously aren't obligated to explain as soon as you go offline, but when your back online as a reassurance yk?

Also good to encourage ur pwBPD to look into why they're feeling the way they do in the moment; is it because of fear? An insecurity? Something that happened? Something they perceived as happening? Usually splits dont happen for no reason and have a trigger

During splits, I think it's best to try and not antagonize them (even unintentionally). Reassurances can be grounding, as the split will pass but it feels like it'll be forever.

Also sometimes it helps when someone straight up tells us we're splitting, it's like having a bowl of cold water thrown at our face :*
