Revisiting this post almost 4 months in because I'm emotional tonight. A lot has happened since initially posting this. I started college. I introduced myself as female every opportunity I've gotten. I met some amazing people who mean the world to me. I got a new job. I fell into weird slumps. I made big purchases I've been waiting years for. I started wearing female clothes in public without being worried. I voice trained. I found a passable girl voice. I started therapy. I did drugs for the first time. I felt comfortable in my body. I started writing music. And I came out to the most important person in my life.

All in just a few months. It does get better the longer you keep going. It's never too late to start, and it's never wrong to choose being happy.

I'm officially 1 month on estrogen! :]

I've heard that it is life-saving, and it really just is. Without delving too deep into my life and feelings, it really has made a positive impact. I can look at myself and not feel utterly disgusted. I feel more comfortable in myself and have started buying feminine clothes. I finally feel comfortable using female pronouns and my preferred name. There's still a ton of progress to be made and a lot to do, but it's finally starting to work <3

i've been reading a lot of books about urban naturalism recently, and the one big thing they all talk about is how you HAVE to stop seeing nature as something that happens somewhere else. nature is not just charismatic megafauna and state parks and mountain ranges. nature is that abandoned lot that's growing native milkweed in it. nature is the murder of crows that lives in your block. nature is the moss growing on your roof and the dandelions growing in the sidewalk cracks and the song birds at your neighbor's birdfeeder. and you should care about it! you should notice it! that's YOUR nature!
