It's so different from what I thought religion had to be. Misogynistic, prude, self-loathing, belittling... Now it's just beautiful. Before I was told to believe without any signs. It made no sense because they would also say that there is one true god and our existence is a miracle already. If you don't believe you'll burn in hell for eternity. Now I can literally communicate and receive signs from a Divine being. Polytheism had made sense to me even when I didn't believe in anything but holy fuck I didn't think this was possible. I thought I had gone mad but nope, I'm most likely not and even if I am it is because my human brain demands it so I'm not too depressed. Which is, as far as I'm guessing, an evolutionary self protection mechanism that is normal. And unlike my previous beliefs it doesn't ask me to ask for forgiveness and drown in guilt.
Sometimes I just have to think about how wild deity work/worship really is. Like what do you mean it’s 10pm and I’m sat on my bed in my pyjamas with a biscuit and a fluffy blanket while also talking to a divine being???

Tips for doing spells when you are in the broom closet?
I live with my parents. Today I was using playing cards as a correspondence and my mother caught me. She asked me if I was reading my fortune and I lied "Nope, I'm just trying to make a game that we can play in school." I mean it isn't such a bad thing because now I can design and make my own cards. Let me describe the view better. Cards laid around my nail polish. A necklace under it and my pomegranate moisturizer (gotta work with what I have) next to it. I mean I'm glad I didn't use candles.
Hey, I've been looking up Poppies on pinterest to draw them and I came upon this website. I thought it could be interesting to those who work with herbs. And the pictures are just pretty.
The picture I found the website through:

Are there any requirements for hygiene in Hellenism?
I was raised Muslim, this is relevant. Muslims wash their hands, feet and face before they pray. I think this is neat, however I really don't know what I should worry about when it comes to hygiene in Hellenism, specifically for worshipping Aphrodite. I try to at least wash my face and brush my teeth on fridays before doing devotional acts as I can't give offerings. I'm trying to prevent my previous beliefs from harming me as I could hardly get rid of them even when I was an atheist. I'm trying to keep it as separate as I can.
I hate living in the city. The worst part of the city. Lots of factories and trash. Whenever I go out to get some fresh air I regret it. The air is almost unbreathable. The streets are too crowded. It's easier to feel magic around me during the night and when it rains and snows. One of the reasons why I believe in witchcraft is how much I love rainstorms. The sound it makes against my window. It's smell. I just pull my chair in front of my window and watch it. I love going to sleep listening to it. There was a storm at night after I experienced something that made my mental health way worse. I forgot all my problems while going to sleep listening to the thunder. Everything was okay just for that moment.
Witches who feel connected to the night, storms, snow and the rain, do you have any recommendations for a new witch? Any ideas for things to do in summer?
It is easier to love yourself when you know that Aphrodite loves you.
She is the Goddess of beauty itself. If Aphrodite can perceive you, a mere mortal, and regard you as beautiful just the way you are, then there is really no point in thinking otherwise.
There have been multiple times where I've gotten spiritual gut punches because I was sitting there degrading myself. To call yourself ugly is to disagree with her word!
Aphrodite, my love, I thank you for the confidence you have granted me. Knowing you love me has made life more worthwhile. I am forever indebted to You.
