I personally like the image of him being a protective, but stern dad, the type to loom behind his kid if bullies were picking on them, but also give them the Lion King-esque "I'm very disappointed in you" talk if they did something really irresponsible.

Very protective Father. Like almost in a bad way, but in a “I try very hard” kinda way too.

Wants to home school his kid, but will let them go to a (private) public school when they are older

Absolutely gives them candy when his partner isn’t looking

Will hand make their Halloween costume every year

Throws extravagant birthday parties, but in the way that’s “lets spoil a genuinely good kid” and not “lets raise a selfish brat”

He gives them everything he didn’t have as a kid, three daily meals, snacks and treats, good clothes, plenty of love and care

Lets them sit in on experiments

and maybe...just a tiny bit...hopes they’ll follow in his footsteps

but does not force them to

wants his kids to be happy first and foremost
