An idea that was better in my head. Quote is from Van Helsing (2004)
Younger Jon with a childhood friend, Liam the lion...
So I forgot to post this. Oop
Merry Christmas hon ☺️ Hope you have a peaceful holiday. Thanks for all your lovely Scarecrow art and ideas.
Oh, I'm having a wonderful Christmas, thank you! Here’s hoping yours is going wonderfully as well! The boys’ definitely seemed to have...
Just doodling little ideas… (so much fluff, you forget you have kiddos inside it)
As a Music Meister aficionado, I would like to say that I love your design for him. Super cute and I love the eyes!
They even like my eyes...
Also thought I’d mention that he has pet peafowl. Bruno is second at the top of the pecking order, second only to MM himself.
Lazlo Valentin needs a good punch in the face.
(Insert crawling in my skin meme here)
After simplifying the eyes, I think I like it.
We got another one of the four Gotham Rogue Cryptids.
This kinda sums up their relationship. Original dialogue from - (Tangled: Before Ever After)
I mean this in the most complimentary, nicest way possible ... your Prof. Pyg looks like a total creep & probable serial killer.
Now now... My methods may be... unconventional, but I am an artist!
Does the Jayverse have a Two-Face? If so, may we see him? He's my favorite Batman Rogue. :3
Sure does! I've only shared one drawing of him though cause I still want to work out the design.
But if you're interested, here's a vague concept bust. Again, I wanna refine it, especially with defining the skull shape of his other half face, but ye. He hasn't the biggest role in my comic, but will likely appear, definitely outside the comic for sure.
Also agree, I love me some duality king Harv.
How did Jayverse!Scarecrow decide the design of his costume, esp. his mask? It's arguably not *scary*, like most Scarecrows. Although one could certainly argue his mask is *uncanny*.
Here, have the doodle page I spent maybe too long on first.
Ok, meta answer first: I wanted a Crane inspired by the seasonal cutsey scarecrow decorations. annnnnnnd....
The in-universe answer is definitely the whole uncanny aspect of it. He's very intrigued by the concept of the uncanny valley. To him, making a sudden scream to frighten feels too cheep for him. His main interest is turning something mundane and/or perceived as cute into a debilitating fear. If he can make someone panic when they see this in a store, then job well done.
He's also very physical in approach, hardly ever speaking. He's made an effort to train acrobatically and utilize his "unnatural" flexibility so that he may seem almost like some stop motion puppet. It also helps that it's very hard to tell what he thinks when he keeps his whole face hidden while never talking.
Think of these Jack Skellington gifs:
Now picture him holding a small foldable scythe or syringe, making no noise, and rapidly approaching.
He is also very fond of vents, lofts, and other hard to reach/traverse hiding spots, which definitely adds to the suspense for his targets.
Aside from the fascination for all things uncanny, he has a fondness for classic fairytales and the original Wizard of Oz novel (and adaptations), which originated from his childhood. He'll get so into the Oz aesthetic that he has at least once held a lion, tiger, and bear in a plot against Batman. Victor Fries and Selina Kyle have "temporary" ownership over them.
Also, as soon as he heard Harley liked his aesthetic/look, he could never drop it. :^)
