It's the delicacy of looking at someone you love and trust, and not understanding why they would ever hurt you; to the slow realization that it's not them anymore. you don't recognize those eyes or that expression anymore.

but, I bet arthur with his crippling self esteem would lay down and take it even before realizing merlin is possessed (especially later season arthur).
