before we go (2014): muse a misses their train home and is stranded in the city with no money or phone. muse b, who works at the train station or maybe just finished dropping someone off at the train, takes it upon themselves to help muse a get home.

the giant mechanical man (2012): muse a works a dead-end job as a costumed street performer and has never really had a sense of identity. muse b has never been able to keep a job, but starts working at a park where muse a often performs.

not another happy ending (2013): muse a is a writer for muse b's publishing business, and muse a has been pushing off their deadline due to writer's block. muse b realizes writer's block only occurs when muse a is happy, so they sneakily try to find ways to ruin muse a's happiness.

like crazy (2011): muse a and muse b attended the same college, but muse a is an international student who has to go back to their home country after school ends. they proceed with a long-distance relationship that is on and off.

one day (2011): covering the span of 10-20 years, muse a and muse b are long-distance college friends who meet once a year and love each other at different times until it's too late... or it isn't.

blue valentine (2010): muse a and muse b's relationship was full of sparks when they were younger and they loved each other recklessly. but muse a gets accidentally pregnant and the two start a family before they're ready. as time goes by, muse a and muse b grow apart.

comet (2014): muse a and muse b met while watching a meteor shower and start a whirlwind romance that, after a few years, is reaching its end. muse a makes a wish wanting to go back to the day they met muse b and enters a parallel universe with the opportunity to change the course of events.

an eyebrow raises, and noah couldn't quite tell what exactly he's feeling, or should feel, when he realizes she's just like him. out of all the things that could happen on the last night of the year before the new one comes, admittedly standing next to lily kwon and conversing with her in a rather...friendly manner isn't one of them. unless all the drinks he's been downing has finally started to work, even though he has only had less than a handful. "at least we can keep each other company. i'm pretty sure now we look less pitiful now," he comments in a light joking manner, eyeing her warily just to gauge if the relief he's starting to feel is merely one-sided on his part. noah brings his beer to his mouth then, feeling his throat goes dry at the mention of his ex girlfriend. "i should be the one asking you that. but i'm guessing you're just as clueless, huh?" it's concerning, the uneasiness that he could pick up from thea sometimes whenever their conversations included mentions of lily, and for a split second he thinks he could somehow feel the same now. "she's probably doing good. she always does, don't you think?" she has to, he thinks.

A ghost of a smile appeared on her lips, understanding all too well what he meant. It was strange to think how once upon a time, Lily had belonged to the crowd of partygoers, even enjoying being in the midst of her fellow townspeople who liked to have fun on Friday nights. Now, she, like Noah, just felt like an outsider. She found the same thing happened with people, too. You can know them so well one day, and feel like you're looking at a stranger the next. Or, standing beside a stranger would be more accurate in this case. "You can say that," she said, purposefully omitting the fact that the person who could have been her companion that evening had left her months ago. "I guess we're both alone on New Year's Eve, huh?" A pause, and she took another swig of her beer before she spoke once again, finishing its contents, needing the liquid courage. "Have you heard from Thea?"
