The Book of Soyga, now translated and online... -
The story of how two remaining copies of the Book of Soyga (one owned by John Dee) were uncovered in 1994.... Dee had pondered greatly over the book’s mysterious tables (though apparently without success, if we take his diaries at face value), and had even copied eight of them into his own books. Yet it was historical cryptologer Jim Reeds who finally intuited the formulae and algorithm by which the tables were numerically generated from a keyword.

The Hidebehind was blamed for many cases of disappearances among loggers when they did not return to camp and it is the reason that the beast is said to feed on humans. No matter how fast the observer is, the Hidebehind always manages to conceal itself behind something if it is being looked at. It is said that alcohol is a sufficient repellent to Hidebehind attacks, and it avoids the substance as much as it possibly can.
