(I’m late) but I fully agree that Janus doesn’t actually like Remus and it’s so hard to find people who think the same lol so wahoooo! But I personally like shipping Remus with the others but god knows how unstable a relationship with Remus would be realistically
Is it just me, or does it feel disrespectful to Remus's character to ship him?
Hear me out!
Every time I come across Remus ship content, it almost always seems to carry the idea that love or romance can fundamentally change a person's nature. It implies that romantic love must inherently change a person into a more socially acceptable version of themselves: He now takes a break from setting his room on fire to calmly help Virgil through his panic attack. He stops filling Roman's pillow with a dead corpse to cuddle with Patton.
I believe this is unrealistic and leads to the softening or taming of the very essence of who he is to fit a romantic narrative.
On the other hand, if you remain true to his character and portray him as just as chaotic as he is in canon, that scenario is borderline torture for anyone involved. You cannot tell me that Logan wouldn't be beyond stressed out if, while trying to do his job, Remus cut his arms off and hit him on the head with them while saying in a sing-song tone, "Why are you hitting yourself?" Or, Virgil, on the brink of a panic attack because, for some reason, every time they kiss, Remus removes the skin from his own face, and that’s the first thing Virgil sees when he opens his eyes.
The only person who could theoretically have a romantic relationship with Remus is Janus, but that’s only because Janus essentially acts as Remus's zookeeper. He keeps the chaotic side contained and, as a result, “tames” him. Even this dynamic is problematic. If Janus is merely managing Remus rather than genuinely enjoying his company, it suggests a relationship built on obligation and control rather than mutual affection and respect.
Furthermore, I don’t believe Janus genuinely enjoys being around Remus. I think the only reason he (narratively) gave him his own special day is because the others were doing it, and he didn’t want to be perceived as a jerk for being the only side that didn’t do it. (Obviously, the reality is that Thomas couldn't do a video about the pairs and not include Janus and Remus.)
There is a balance between creativity and character integrity that I don't think a lot of Remus shippers have taken the time to consider. Respecting his character means acknowledging that not all characters are suited for traditional romantic narratives.
If you ship Remus, don't let me stop you. At the end of the day, it's not that serious. I was just curious if anyone else felt this way.

Just thought I’d reblog this for some reason 💀
I like the idea Remus puts on a silly voice for everyone cuz he’s quirky like that. Which is why his voice sounds like that lol.
But like if he had an emotional moment he stops making his voice sound silly and starts talking normally.
It would be even angstier if his natural voice sounded EXACTLY like Romans voice lol.
I dunno if I’m gonna get attacked but I don’t think people really acknowledge how toxic intrulogical would actually be tbh. I mean I love intrulogical too but I can’t deny it would be really ass toxic in canon sense. We usually give Remus more feelings and depth in his ships but he’s not actually like that in canon. He gets under Logan’s skin on purpose and plays to Logan’s sensitivity about being ignored. Even when Logan is trying to say to Remus that he knows he’s important but now isn’t his time tbh.
There’s a difference to being a short person with anger issues and being short and genuinely being a B
How do creators of the show write side characters in? For tv shows. Like do they have to design them before pitching the series or as they go along? And what about one time characters that show up for five seconds? Do the animators make up the designs? Or are they properly designed too?
I need someone to respond to this please

Opposite Remus
———————
Wears a grey shirt, green shorts and just shorts. Pretty blank dude. A good reference would be Sunny from omori. I think he doesn’t really express emotions very good and is pretty emotionless tbh. He still gives Thomas intrusive thoughts. But they have more reason. Like he’d give Thomas thoughts about dying alone to push Thomas to go out and make some friends, or about killing simply because it’s what he does. But his thoughts have more reason. He usually just eats bland foods like just plain white rice or smth and everyone gets annoyed cuz of his bland tastes lol. I feel like he wouldn’t care enough about the royal aesthetic and it annoys Roman beyond belief lol. He doesn’t lie at all, he doesn’t see the point in lies. But he doesn’t hate them, he has nothing against people that do lie. He just doesn’t like the idea of people lying to themselves. He’d probably just be brutally honest but more subtle like not just yelling it. He does listen to the others.
Most people make opposite Remus Patton but more emotional and green lol. Just thought this would be more accurate lol.
Angst:He’s not emotionless, but sometimes doesn’t know how to feel about stuff or how to express it. Sometimes thinks he might say the wrong thing. He does care about the others though.
