April isn’t quite sure what’s going on, but she hasn’t been friends with the guys for almost five years for nothing, so she’s positive that something is up. She just has yet to pin it down. Casey, too, she knows, has picked up on the unusual atmosphere but has just enough tact that he doesn’t say anything about it. He’s shot her more than one glance, waiting for some sort of signal from her, but she just shakes her head faintly.

It’s movie night after all, a sacred time. Leo has picked Star Wars, predictably, and is relentlessly defending the bad graphics of Episode I no matter how much Donny complains about it. Raph likes the action, as usual, cheering when the Jedi engage in a lightsaber battle, while Mikey sits on the floor and laughs at the jokes. There’s popcorn getting crushed into the rug, Leo keeps gesturing dangerously with his glass of soda, and there’s more than one solid brotherly smack delivered to Mikey, who lobs throw pillows at his brothers in retaliation.

Basically, it seems perfectly normal.

Except it isn’t.
