Q: Is there anything we can look forward to in Alecto that you can tease now? A: Saying anything about Alecto would be so terrifically spoilery that I can barely think of what to say except everything is different, all over again. And terrible. And Ianthe will be awful. Ianthe will reach new heights of being absolutely goddamn dreadful.

• Things will be different and Ianthe will be a piece of shit. This feels like a freebie.

But I mean, there are so few female characters who are like Ianthe. She comes from such a privileged position. She gets to be not only Draco in Leather Pants. She’s the evil vizier. That’s also a very sexy trope that girls don’t necessarily get to embody. And again, that’s something that goes even worse in book three

• This interview is pre Nona, so we know Ianthe is going to just be villainous in Alecto.

Q: Gideon is very focused on the relationship between Gideon and Harrow, but in Harrow we see Harrow interacting particularly with Ianthe. Was it fun to go full throttle with Ianthe in book two? A: Oh, entirely. And I can’t wait to show off even more. She just gets worse in Alecto.

• A lot of bold promises of Ianthe getting worse. I hope she delivers in a spectacularly shitty fashion.

interviewer: It’s such a romantic scene, but you don’t feel safe. You’re not like, Oh, good, Ianthe will take care of Harrow. It’s like, “Harrow, run away!” TM: One thing I want to do with the whole series is show the ways in which love is transformative and also the ways in which it isn’t. I love that idea of safety where you have the bad boy and he’s behaving like an absolute wanker to the female protagonist, but then it turns out he’s in love with her. Oh, it’s okay, he’ll save her, you think, there’s no danger from him now. Whereas Ianthe fancying Harrow puts Harrow so much more in danger than anything else. Harrow’s feelings for Gideon are more transformative than not. They are a redemptive force for Harrow, but for Ianthe we do not know if it’s love or anything else that can redeem her.

•They are referencing the Ianthe POV scene of giving Harrow her lobotomy. I just thought the fact that Ianthe’s interest in Harrow putting Harrow into danger was such an interesting point I hadn't thought about. What is her intention with Harrow. What is this favor she will call upon? This is a plot that has not reached its conclusion so I definitely think it needs to be considered ATN info.

question from moongates: I do have a question for Tamsyn which is Nona related so I’ll spoiler tag. unfortunately i'm awful and have without fail latched like a leech onto both harrow/ianthe and gideon/ianthe because i love thinking abt our broken miserable girls teaming (hooking) up with ianthe just to *really* drive home how broken and miserable they are. which is why i have to ask: was nona gideon's first kiss or were kiriona and ianthe being wholly unwholesome in those 6 months they spent together. more importantly, and this is vital information—was the chussy involved! tazmuir: Before I answer this I guess I have to google what chussy is. moongates: google…probably won’t help. but i might! hint: that’s where her heart used to be. tazmuir: Two points from me, now that I have googled and also received your helpful tip. 1. In Princess Maker 2 if your sin level got too high you got locked out of all the good endings and became the devil, or the devil's spouse, or something. All of you involved i!chussy are, in my opinion, on track for this ending. 2. I cannot answer this because on consideration there may be spoilers here for *Alecto*. I am not sure if this will be cause for interest or dread. I can certainly confirm that Ianthe and Kiriona have developed an unwholesome companionship, but what I thought 'unwholesome' was previously is different to now: now that I am a human being who googled 'chussy'. Also this answer will be completely different based on whether you ask Ianthe or Kiriona. I hope there are some wonderful fanfiction authors who can answer this in more depth than I just did. Their answer will inevitably be better.

• Tamsyn can't talk about the relationship between Gideon and Ianthe because spoiler, so definitely getting explored more like we all wanted and won't answer if Nona was Gideons first kiss...which seems shiesty. But maybe not.

And that's it. That's what I've compiled from a couple hours of sleuthing interviews.

Again I definitely didn't relisten to all podcast interviews nor did I look through her editors Twitter, so I could have definitely missed something. I also remember a transcribed interview for industry people or librarians or something...a question about if Harrow had an ass and Tamsyn being aghast[anyway, point being i couldn't find that one]

If you have anything to add, please do! I know I'm feasting on the crumbs while trying not to go absolutely insane. Hope that you all found this enjoyable and don't find my speculation and commentary too distracting.

Before The Official Cover Comes Out, This Is My Take On It. Oh My Gosh, It Was So Hard Trying To Copy

before the official cover comes out, this is my take on it. oh my gosh, it was so hard trying to copy the original art style. this was a Christmas present to my sister because she got me into this book series ❤️

i had the main color be green because she’s the earth and stuff, and green hasn’t been the main color in any of these books yet.

the outfit was just something that i thought alecto would wear, like she is usually shown with that one dress- but do you really think that she’s going to be wearing that same ratty old thing for the rest of the book?

these are just some other eye colors. i love being able to have fun with the eyes. i always imagined the golden eyes to be more glowy and such, but all the book covers that show the golden eyes, they are so dull and not noticeable.

i also have the pre lyctor eyes version cause those are soooooo freaking cool. this barbie girl boss deserves those eyes more than john 😤😤
