your question is whispered into the darkness of your bedroom — you gazing at the ceiling thoughtfully, while jeonghan curls up beside you.

your boyfriend scrunches his nose at you. “angel, it’s two in the morning,” he murmurs, bleary-eyed.

“is it?” you don’t sound that interested, still preoccupied with your thoughts. “but what if pets name people?” a small gasp, and you turn to face him. “what do you think kkuma named coups?”

“pabo?” he suggests half-heartedly, before poking your forehead. “enough crazy questions, baby. let’s sleep now, okay?”

you stifle a yawn as he drapes an arm around your waist. “they’re not crazy questions, though,” you protest half-heartedly, pulling away to frown at him.

“no, they’re very important questions,” jeonghan agrees, clearly just humouring you so you’ll let him pull you close and guide your head to his chest. “the most important.”

“are you teasing me?” you complain sleepily; he laughs softly, kissing the top of your head.

“maybe a little,” he admits, the corners of his lips lifting into an amused smile. “i guess that’s what happens when you talk about flying crabs at two in the morning.”

you speak into his chest, muffled and slurred with exhaustion. “you just don’t get it, hannie,” you grumble, waving your hands vaguely.

“mm,” jeonghan hums in agreement, his voice softening as he sees your eyes closing. you try to force them open, but he passes a gentle hand over your forehead, breathing a quiet, “just sleep now. goodnight, baby.”

there’s a pause, where he checks that you’ve finally fallen asleep with a fond smile on his face — then kisses your forehead with a soft murmur. “dream only good things, okay?”
