It was at the spa that Katrina Caliente met Bella Goth for the first time. She had been invited by a couple of her friends; a way to celebrate her engagement to Don Lothario. She had heard of Bella Goth; of course, who hadn't? She was as famous for her beauty as she was for her marriage to Mortimer.
It was when Bella had noticed the ring on her finger, however, that she began to act....odd.
"Where did you get that?", Bella asked incredulously, like Katrina didn't deserve to wear it on her finger. It was rather insulting, but Katrina did what she had always done when people attempted to snub her; kept smiling and pushed on through.
"Don't you like it?", Katrina said, ignoring the edge to the woman's voice. "My fiancé proposed to me with it."
"And what is your fiancé's name?", Bella asked, raising a brow as she watched Katrina pull out her phone and flip through hundreds of pictures of Don, before handing the phone to her.
"His name is Don.", Katrina said, beaming from ear to ear. As soon as Bella looked at the picture, Katrina heard a chuckle rip from her ears.
"Don Lothario? You're engaged to The Don Lothario?", Bella asked, as Katrina's friends all moved from the other side of the room to gather around her. "You've got to be joking. The manwhore is settling down and becoming a stepfather? Surely, you jest."
Katrina didn't understand what Bella could possibly be talking about. Manwhore? Don had never shown any tendencies of being anything other than devoted to her. He didn't even look at other women when they went out in public. He was constantly all over her, and he was willing to show her off to whoever he wanted. If he had a history of seducing women, and men from what Bella was telling her, why would he do all of those? Surely, she was simply jealous.
"He's not what you say he is.", Katrina said defensively, her voice getting smaller with each passing moment.
"Right.....If you truly believe that, ask him where he got the ring, Katrina.", Bella said, her eyes softening as she went to pat her on the shoulder. "And then ask him about his past. If he truly has changed, he will tell you everything."
