ANGEL REESE HAS DONE IT 👑
She's the first player in WNBA history to record a double-double in ten straight games!

The WNBA announced Tuesday that Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese are the WNBA’s players of the week
I hope Paige isn’t on Tumblr. I hope she doesn’t see how you guys talk about her teammates and friends, especially Azzi.
If you guys pay attention to Paige’s interviews you would notice how important the people around her are, especially during her injury.
Importance isn’t measured by fame.
Just a reminder that we might be their fans, but our attention isn’t what dictates who they are and how important they are. At the end of the day, they are athletes and the work they put in on the court and in the locker room will be more important than events, social media, and fan engagement.
Azzi is well known in the WNBA world. Even NBA players know her face or her name because she works WITH Steph Curry.
Don’t diminish her hard work just because it’s not in front of strangers online.
As fans, I think it’s clear that we see a significant gap in recognition and talent between Paige Bueckers & Azzi Fudd, and it seems unfair that Azzi's visibility is so tied to Paige's success.
The feeling that Azzi is mainly discussed as her best friend is because of her proximity to Paige and it’s quite frustrating, especially when we want to see Paige celebrated independently. I’m not dismissing her best friend’s role or their relationship, but it feels like there’s an imbalance in the attention they receive. It comes across as others trying to share in Paige's spotlight without earning it in the same way Paige has, which dilutes the acknowledgment she deserves.
Regarding the racial dynamics, i thinks it’s very likely that some people in the fanbase feel a sense of loyalty to elevate Black players, particularly given the often inequitable media coverage that athletes of different racial backgrounds receive. This might be the reason you and others focus more on Azzi, perhaps as a form of pushing back against the disproportionate attention a white athlete like Paige gets. While that intention might be rooted in a desire for greater representation, it comes off as attempting to diminish Paige’s achievements in favor of someone y’all relate to more and feel deserves more attention. It’s unfair to fans like me who genuinely admires Paige's talent and wants to see her acknowledged on her own terms, without any added dynamics or pressures influencing her recognition.
The way you even brought up Stephen Curry also adds to my point. You can’t be interested in her without attaching someone more famous to make her presence known which is why I said I pitied her. It’s fans like you that push this rhetoric and can’t fathom that this agenda being pushed will never actually work…
I’m saying this as a black person btw. I explained as best as I could without any added aggression so it feels straightforward. I won’t delve into this topic much more to save her some grace but I do feel like this conversation can also lead to the Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese topic.
people alr doing tm and calling angel all types of racial slurs, she did do too much but damn 😭😭
they can never make me hate hate you sweetie
