I write my name on back of the cover of every book I own. I dog ear my books. I annotate the margins in pen. My books are filled with my thoughts end evidence that I have read them. Proof that my books have been used. Proof that they are loved. Because to be loved is to be changed.

god to see how it was loved?? my favourite. the thoughts, opinions, ideas, even the occasional "slay" comment. i love revisiting books i've read and reading what i thought at that moment i first read it. like man the untainted reminder of your first, raw reaction is invaluable. gimme more. making more.

it absolutely shatters my soul to annotate on books. I don't know how people so easily highlight lines and tab pages, it feels like I'm taking a knife and stabbing the book's soul and also my own heart. But still, there's this feeling of joy that comes with underlining my favourite scenes and dialogues and drawing little hearts and stars around them. And that feeling exceeds the pain.
