Yippieee!!
How I personally go about drawing a pose! (Long post warning also I'm bad at explaining warning)
Line of action! The line I picture the body will follow and then another line to indicate where the shoulder go
![How I Personally Go About Drawing A Pose! (Long Post Warning Also I'm Bad At Explaining Warning)](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f8c94e8b65c46eb5a26b40e17913658f/2dbf8cba3def3030-fb/s500x750/d8d6c2cf292648736bb19e0b803c17ff72453893.jpg)
2. The ribcage and tummy tum shapes next! Ribbies I always do a curvy W lol and then I do a line to indicate the hips. For dynamic poses it's common for the shoulder line and the hip line to go opposite tilt if that makes sense? Not always but it happens a lot and adds some variation to poses and looks more natural

3. Hips! The shape is like trapezoid but I point it at the bottom. Idk what that shape is called tho.. I'm sure there's a name but I went to summer school 3 years in a row don't @ me. Oh then indicate the shoulders! Circles I usually put so the top of the circle is above the shoulder line

4. Thighs thighs thighs and knees!! The thighs are usually gonna be like the ribcage and tummy length for some proportional accuracy but can be a lil shorter or lil longer depending on the person every one is different but generally it's about that long (I had a problem for years where I drew the thighs too long and I never could figure out why my legs looked so gd weird until I figured this out)
![How I Personally Go About Drawing A Pose! (Long Post Warning Also I'm Bad At Explaining Warning)](https://64.media.tumblr.com/48114e088af5f2f67c2ae9aaf7bc83e2/2dbf8cba3def3030-12/s500x750/3cdd5182a2b97fd6baf37366d23a438170a448c3.jpg)
5. The shins and feet um idk how to explain how draw these yall. other than I looked at pictures of legs for this and then did my fuckin best đ shins and feet make no sense to me so I wing it... I'm not helpful right now lmaooo just... oh gorsh. I cannot recommend looking up reference photos enough. Do it now! lol. Oh for the arms! The elbow starts at about where the belly button level ish like mid tummy! So I just use my fingers to measure and see if I got them a good length lol
![How I Personally Go About Drawing A Pose! (Long Post Warning Also I'm Bad At Explaining Warning)](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ba109eb36f7de7a08b4b783286ff0e1d/2dbf8cba3def3030-1f/s500x750/9dc3c8dd574b1864e92c16e2c276f8ce0f5d0963.jpg)
6. Then neck and head! Sometimes it's best to leave neck and head for last instead of first. Prioritize the body first and the head last because building off a head can be tricky it can look like the head doesn't belong if you're not used to drawing bodies. Anywho the shoulder line will now be a gentle arch because that's the muscle that connects neck to shoulder and then neck starts a teeny bit below the new arch line of the shoulder!

And I conveniently left out hands on purpose because fuck hands âđđ¤ hope this gave some insite on how I think and my process of building a pose out sorry if it was not helpful and now I go and figure our who this guy is gonna be! Bye bye!!

An anon asked me for tips on the Dangan Ronpa style. The pictures are captioned for some extra commentary.
Iâve learnt most of this through observation and one thing I whole heartedly recommend is looking closely at the sprites, beta artwork, and design references. You can find them on the Dangan Ronpa wiki and it can be very helpful to understand how theyâre drawn.
I didnât go into detail with how I colour them because Iâve made some videos on youtube and even though one is quite old, how I colour sprites hasnât really changed.
https://youtu.be/2UyzgTDCjHU (My video tutorial) https://youtu.be/Fu9wEbJwAhg (How I drew Ryotaâs sprites)
If you want to see how you can diversify the designs more, Iâd recommend looking at Gokuharaâs art on aminoapps or their fangan here. Itâs not a 100% imitation of the style colouring-wise but the designs are very well done.
I was wondering if you could help teach us how to draw the bust/breast in danganronpa style, I've been struggling with it, and it'd mean so much if you could help!
First off, Iâm going to say that this one of the things where I donât actually follow the DR style properly as Iâm pretty sure the DR team struggle with drawing breasts as well.
![image](https://64.media.tumblr.com/10690e136726cdc1470bec58bbca9707/tumblr_inline_p61y5lPEDz1rmowc3_500.png)
To use an egregious example you can see that the DR style tends to draw large chests asâŚ.circles. This doesnât look very natural or right so this is how I do it instead:
![image](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8a6685324b2d3bbc025e71fb73b8f30e/tumblr_inline_p61y8lDPR71rmowc3_500.png)
Breasts are 3D shapes and have gravity. This means they stick out of the body and large chests especially are bottom heavy. For a rough shape, you draw a curve from where one arm connects to the body to the other with a slight dip upwards at the end of the sternum. Drawing a line down the center but following the shape helps you see them as â3Dâ. Itâs especially helpful with the clothes.
![image](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e371d856284158af90c88493815f21a6/tumblr_inline_p61yx5Iq9i1rmowc3_500.png)
Different fabrics go around breasts differently. Looser shirts tend to loose the shape, flowing down until it meets the hips. Tighter shirts keep the outline, curving around and then down. BUTÂ remember that even with very tight clothes, the fabric doesnât surround each breast individually! If you show cleavage, you can usually follow the line to understand where to add the curve. Cleavage is more prominent the larger the chest is. If someone has small breasts, they might not even have any cleavage.
I hope this helped :D
Do you have any tips on drawing the buffer characters from dr? Like Sakura or Gonta?
The buff characters in DR are highly exaggerated and top-heavy. They have very wide shoulders and a very thick neck. However, their faces are slightly more realistically proportioned with smaller eyes, a more defined nose, and less of a pointy chin/soft jawline.
The general shape is a triangle from the shoulders to a surprisingly thin waist.
![image](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f8249c4732724501c5d21312832e582c/tumblr_inline_p6vtisiqR51rmowc3_500.png)
![image](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2ed0cb00117761b3977073379204f261/tumblr_inline_p6vtmgBbzj1rmowc3_500.png)
There is still diversity within the characters. While they all have the same characteristics Iâve noted, Gonta has a rounder chest and arms while having a narrower chin and shoulders. Nekomaru is a lot more squared with a thicker waist and looking a bit more uniform across his body. Sakura is a definite triangle with very wide shoulders and a very thin waist in comparison. She has a thicker neck and rounder shoulders.
Looking at general tutorials or references on muscle helps when trying to draw the muscles themselves if you have bare arms or a bare chest.
