Bisexuals being attacked by homophobes is not “misdirected homophobia” and constantly referring to their abuse, deaths, and harassment as such is both alienating and invalidating their experiences, along with involuntarily pushing the narrative that their bisexuality can prevent or shield them from homophobia. They cannot escape homophobia and calling our constant abuse “misdirected” and saying “they only did it because they thought you were gay” makes it incredibly difficult to speak on our experiences or feel respected.
