"sweetie, hurry up, uncle Bobby is waiting for you" the small girl ran into the room with a big smile on her face. Her parents were leaving for yet another 'business trip', leaving her with Bobby for don't know how long. The four-year-old didn't even know what it was that her parents do. All she knew was that they get a call once in a while and then they leave for days, sometimes even for weeks. A man would come, that she came to know as John, and would take them away in his shiny black car.

"Bobby" she squealed and jumped in the old man's arms. "Hey, Alex, how you doing kiddo." he returned her hug by wrapping his arms around her small body. Bobby absolutely adored the little girl. He never had a kid of his own but she made him feel like he was a father without having a child. Ever since Karen died his life was filled with darkness but that little kid gave him the light of hope.

"Bobby, will we go to shoo falls?" She asked and he chuckled at her mispronunciation. "Yes, Alex, we will be going to Sioux falls".

"Will you let me play with my barbie, daddy doesn't let me play with my barbie" she whispered to him and he laughed again "of course I would let you play with your barbie. In fact, we would play with your barbie together." "Really? I'd go get her. Can I take Mr. Cuddles too?" She asked and Bobby nodded as she ran off to her room.

"Bobby, her bedtime is 8, so don't let her be up after 8. And don't give her too much sugar, she does not sleep after that. Got a sweet tooth that one" Anne said "Don't worry, Anne, she lives with me more than she lives with you guys, remember?" He pointed out. "Wow thanks for making me feel like a shitty mom," she said a little sarcastically but a little serious too. "You aren't a bad mom, Anne. You just trying to keep her safe and you are doing good at that." Anne sighed and David came running into the house.

"You ready? John's here" he asked and she nodded. "thanks again, Bobby, for babysitting my daughter" David never ceases to tell him that he was just babysitting, he's not her real father, no matter how much he tries to be, David was her real father even though he's never there for her. Anne felt the tension between two men and spoke up. "And Bobby, don't tell her any Ghost Stories or hunting stories, last night she took David's gun to shoot the monster in her closet, and fortunately there was no monster this time, she could've hurt herself with the gun." She told him and he almost laughed but stopped when he saw the look on Anne's face.

"ok Anne, I'll wait for you outside. Be quick. " David said as he made his way outside. "David. At least say goodbye to her." Anne called out to her husband. He stopped for a second but chose to ignore her words and continued walking outside where John was waiting for them. "Everything ok?" Bobby asked his friend as soon as her husband was out of sight. "Nothing new. Just the usual, you know, David never wanted a daughter" she sighed, Bobby knew about the fights between the couple ever since Alex was born. David always wanted a son and as he said 'who can carry on my legacy' and according to him a daughter can't carry on his legacy. But everyone knew that wasn't his actual problem, everyone knew but no one ever chose to talk about it, even David himself. Just as Bobby was about to say something the little girl once again ran into the room.

"Ok sweetie, we are leaving now. Be good to uncle Bobby" she picked her up and hugged her tight before putting her down again. "Thanks again Bobby" she hugged her best friend and then left.

"you ready, kiddo?" Bobby asked making the girl jump up and down from excitement. He locked the house and took Alex outside to the car. "Bobby, can we buy some cookies before we get there, I won't tell mommy, I promise" she pouted at him with her puppy dog eyes. The little devil knew that Bobby couldn't resist those. "Pretty please" she added while batting her eyelashes. "Ok. But only if you go to bed at 8." He started the car and pulled out of the driveway. The whole ride was spent arguing about her sleeping time and the old man finally gave up and agreed on 9:30. "Ok fine but not a second after that" Damn the girl could argue just like her mother already. Again she was jumping happily on the backseat. After buying some candies and cookies for her Bobby finally pulled up at his house in Sioux Falls.

There was something different, Bobby could feel it, there was someone already in the house. He bowed down in front of her and said "Alex, you stay right here for a minute, I'll go inside and check" he went inside without waiting for her response. As soon as he was inside Alex followed him. When she got inside she saw 2 boys sitting in the living room. One looked 11-12 the other looked 7-8. Bobby was talking to them.

"What are you guys doing here? not that you aren't welcome or something but"

"Dad left us here before he went on the hunt. I thought he already talked to you" The older one replied as his eyes glued to the little girl behind Bobby holding a teddy bear close to her chest. Bobby's eyes followed his and he turns around to see the girl looking at the boys with her innocent doe eyes. "Alex. I told you to stay outside while I check in here"

"Yes, but I got bored. Who are they?" She asked as she stepped forward to stand next to Bobby. "This is Dean and this is Sam. Boys this is Alex." She offered them one of her cute irresistible smiles that made both of their hearts melt. "Alex you go play with Sam, Dean come with me I need your help." he left the living room and the older Winchester followed him. Alex sat beside the younger boy.

"Hi, Sammy," she said. "Hi" he replied. "Do you want to play with Nina?" She asked holding up her barbie. "I'm not really supposed to play with barbies," he said with a small chuckle. "Why? Does your dad scold you too when you play with barbies?" She asked. "No, not really. I never played with barbies, so he never scolds me for playing with barbies."

"Why don't you play with barbies then?" She asked again innocently and the boy smiled at her. "Because I am a boy. Boys are not supposed to play with barbies." He explained. "Then what about Mr cuddles. He gives the best hug." She said this time holding up her teddy bear. "I don't play with teddy bears too." He said and her face dropped. "But if you want you can play with cars. You wanna play with cars?" He asked her and her eyes lit up. "Cars? Let's go"

"Alex, Sam, dinner’s ready" Bobby yelled as both the kids ran inside the kitchen with a very tired-looking Dean trailing behind them. "Bobby, did you make Mac and cheese?" She asked scrunching up her nose. "No sweetheart Dean made them," he said and she sighed in relief. "Thanks, Dean," she said and the boy smiled at her. "Hey, I am not that bad of a cook" Bobby exclaimed with a fake hurt look. They quickly ate their dinner and then Alex and Sam went back to playing their weird game, well as Dean put it. Dean smiled at his little brother as he continued chasing the little girl. Both of their laughter filled the whole house. He never saw his brother this happy, so carefree and childlike. Alex made him so happy, he could see that.

"Your brother is really enjoying with her." Dean heard Bobby as he sat beside him. "Yeah, well he always wanted a little brother to play with instead he got a sister" he replied and Bobby smiled. "I never saw Alex this happy before too."

"How long is she gonna stay?"

"As long as you guys. Her parents went on the hunt with your dad."

"Wait, she is the Livingston's daughter?" he asked the older man. "Yeah, why?"

"Nothing, it's just dad really trusts this guy. It's always David this and David that, but to be honest, the guy's a dick."

"Yeah, you tell me about it."

"ok, it's way past both of your bad times. Get ready for bed. And that means you too, Dean" Bobby said as he picked up tired and almost sleepy Alex. "What? why? I don't have a bedtime" "Because I say so, boy. Now don't argue with me and get to bed" Bobby replied as he carried her to her bedroom. The girl stayed here so much that she already has a bedroom in the house. "Good night, Bobby," she said as he pressed a kiss on her forehead. "Good night, sweetheart." he left and went to check on the boys to see that Dean was making a makeshift bed for Sam. He smiled at the brothers and went to his own room.
