MY THOUGHTS ON BARBIE MOVIE (2023)
i like the new Barbie movie. it covered everything wrong with gender roles and society. there's also a feeling of acknowledgement and understanding on how bizarre was my puberty. when i don't feel "perfect" anymore. because puberty, and girlhood, all of that made me questioning everything about myself like "why do i feel this way?", "why am i so sensitive?". watching Barbie makes me feel acknowledge. i wasn't weird, i was just being Human. and there's nothing wrong with feelings and emotions that i thought was abnormal to feel.
and also not to offend anyone, but in my own personal opinion, there's also a touch of how God/the creator/universe (whoever/whatever you believe in) is perceived. at the end, Barbie ask Ruth the inventor of Barbie to determine her fate, her ending. because Barbie said, "but you're the creator....", it sounds like barbie completely depend on how Ruth the inventor gonna decides her ending. but then Ruth said, "i can't control you". To me, it kinda applies to how human always blame God/the creator on everything that's wrong with their life, how on the edge of confusion people came to God/the creator to fix their problems. well, it doesn't work that way. God/the creator doesn't fix our problems, or even control our behaviors and actions towards each other. they're here to give us a chance. to give us the upper hand on how we want our lives to turn out to be, and help us along the way to actually go through the journey.
there's a lot of things/issues to dicovered in Barbie.
But overall, it was amazing. It's all girly pop but also very depressing.
