Although I'm not familiar with TFA aside from posts (mostly about MegOp size difference, lol, and Shockwave's cool design), I can see it to be very likely. Tentacles are usually full of initiative and ready to make the first move. And cuddly alien monsters? Yeah. I love tentacles.
