Being A Goth In Australia Is Literally Suffering For Half The Year. Luckily The Middle Of The Year Is Cool. - Tumblr Posts
I see lots of gothic stuff on my feed today and it makes me depressed that the one physical gothic boutique I ever managed to find in Sydney became completely online some years ago. Which you know, I’m happy they found a wider audience but at the same time, do you have any idea how completely useless a gothic store where you can’t actually try on the outfits is to someone with sensory issues who lives in Australia? On the one hand: the itch potential of complex and ornate dress designs, on the other hand black and layered in a country with Australian spring and summer. This and the fact that gothic clothes are often made by hobbyists or artists or very niche brand labels catering to a niche demographic means that to top it all off gothic clothing is EXPENSIVE. So yeah not having a physical location to try things on is why I’m just a sad looking pajama goth these days. I guess on the bright side it’s significantly better for my wallet this way. I guess I’ll just have to celebrate the morbid and ghoulish by reading and watching morbid and ghoulish things.
