Obitsuroids are really like a scaled down version of bjds. Lots of small shops have a ton of mods and special parts so you can mix and match too.
I'll be posting more regularly since Im feeling much better as of late.
Progress on a dress. Its the first time Im making an actual complete dress. Almost done, but its a mess.
I should actually do the proper measurements instead of freehanding. I like very long poofy dresses.

A mostly completed Giada! She still needs some stuff but I'm having a bit of trouble with making it atm, so here she is. I wanted to get different eyes for her after seeing how large her eyes were (larger than a DD head) but I took a liking to how it gives her an off look.

Dolls: Dollbot DB02, Imomodoll Mie, Dollfie Dream Candy
Since C9's body finally arrived a week or two ago, I can finally continue this disaster of a BJD project.
On a note, the 1/6 Senmi body in White is a good match for TinyFox white, and the Normal tone is a good match for TinyFox Peach.
The body is PVC despite being strung, so a heads up to those worried about stains. Mines don't have stains so far since there's no coating and it's hard PVC, but just a thing of note.
Also here's a comparison to the old CFDoll body that was supposed to be C9's OG body.
Got a Mary Knight from Azone! She's an original Azone character from the Colorful Dreamin' Line.
She's really quite pretty, and I love her gothic style of dress. I don't really like the other girls except for Asahina and the upcoming Mebae, but they're all really cute.
Here's Mary nestled in the plastic.
The Colorful Dreamin' line has been advertised with the Feel skin, which is just a coating over the body which gives it a velvety soft touch compared to the hard and smooth plastic of the previous bodies. It's very similar to the Tinyfox coating. I hope it doesn't mean that it will have the same issues with staining....^_^'
Her face is adorable and her eyes have a slit design.
Overall, Mary is really cute and I missed out on her preorders. I personally like her with darker hair, but the pink is cute too. Azone dolls have very well made clothing and she has quite a bit to her. I am currently trying to fix her bangs. Azone dolls have gelled hair in the photos, but the actual doll requires for you to style their hair, so currently trying to find something. There's the Volks wig sprays and wax, but I'll need to wait until I can get that.
I also bought a pair of shoes with the order that seem to be made for Licca-chan, and the shoes fit my Harmonia Root body quite well, although it's a bit big. Some socks will probably fix that. I'm not sure if Harmonia bloom and root has a difference in foot size, but it will probably fit a bloom.
So I recently received my Tiedan （大铁蛋 in Chinese) BJD. It's a cheaper BJD (588 RMB and I think it was about $80 if you ordered it from Jane's Dolland. I ordered it from the Taobao store itself) and 1/4 scale and since it's the same price even in dark tan, I decided to take the pre order somewhere in November and now I finally received the doll. Note that I am in China atm so if you are international, you might receive it a little later. There is also some delays in shipping from what I can see from their Little Red Book account.
Here was everything that was shipped with the doll.
Really cool carrying case since it's shaped like a (somewhat small) violin case. Please do mind the plaid, I don't have anywhere else better to take pictures. She came with horns, tails, wings, another head, and hands.
REALLY big eyes, even more so for this type of doll, which is anime eqsue. It's a 1/4 but has a 1/3 head circumference, which is typical. But it's still seems larger than average. The eyes are 20 mm and they don't really seem to fit unless you have one with large irises.
Here's the elf head next to an actual 1/3 head (zaz不困 阿纸). He's wearing the same eyes in the brown eye picture to get a reference of eye size.
Well, that's it for now. I do like the doll quite a bit and I have yet to set up the magnets for the wings and other stuff so not much to say as of the moment. Her eyes are a little bit large so I guess I'll be getting some new ones for her. I'm thinking of putting her in cosplay, but I don't know what character. I don't mind a DM, so if you have any questions on her, please send me one.

BJD Coffin Bag for outings
I recently got a coffin shaped bag to carry my 1/4 BJDs because it allows me to carry not one, but two BJDs along with looking cool. I see a lot of bags like these specially meant for carrying dolls, but most of them are for the 1/6 scale and below. I couldn't resist the opportunity to have one for 1/4 dolls.
I usually use a grey duffel bag that GuardLove sends their 1/4 bodies in, but I think my doll is getting tired of everyone else using his bag rent free while he is left without a dedicated box/bag for him and his accessories.
Here's some pictures of my dolls and the bag. The back of the bag is covered with a white sheet since the reviews said the bag sometimes stains. Not really much of an issue for me due to how dark most of my doll clothes are along with most of them being resin, but better to be safe than sorry.
Hope I'll get the chance to use this bag. Probably needs a wider strap though since I don't have much confidence in how this one will not be digging into my shoulders after +1 hour of walking and with some dolls being on the heftier side.
TinyFox Lilith
Well, looks like all the bad decisions preorders are beginning to slowly be shipped, and my TinyFox Lilith (莉莉斯) arrived today. I preordered him in March to prevent myself from preordering him around his listing release date, which was October 31st, 2022. I love all things Halloween, so I ordered him later to make sure I wasn't making a sudden decision.
He came with everything in the left pic. I was somewhat surprised to also get two heads, so that's nice. They're likely B-grade heads since they have a small slash mark at the bottom of their heads. I do need to brush up on my faceup skills...
Here's his fullset.
The eyewells take in anything that's 16 mm or less. His fullset eyes (on left) leave a bit of a gap and you do need slightly domed eyes if you don't like gaps. Glass eyes with a slight dome would mitigate the gap issue.
To put on his inner shirt, you would need to remove his hands. It was overall fairly easy. I love the detail on the back of his caplet-coat thing.
And finally, the head! The wig is really soft and silky, but I can't get the bangs to be like the one in the promo pics. I think it needs some relaxing with steam, but I'll do that...later. I don't really like his tiny hat that much, and I plan on making another hat for him.
Lilith is overall pretty cute and I do like him the most out of all the 1/6 fullsets. Probably because he's Halloween themed. I do hope that TinyFox will release a 1/4 boy in the near future since even their current line of 1/6 boys (Lilith and Nomi) use the same body as the girls. He's my first TinyFox doll and I think I'll be getting one of the 1/4 girls if I can in the next few months.
Here's him next to another 1/6 doll, or MJD, as China's fanbase calls them. Most vinyl dolls are called this due to their joints being 'mechanical'. The other doll is an Imomodoll blind box head (BM-04) on a Pansdoll body. I have to say, Lilith is much heavier despite both being MJDs and made of out PVC. I think he's actually even heavier than some of my resin 1/6 BJDs. You'll probably see more of these two around the autumn season since I'll probably take them out more often then.
Also I'm beginning to really worry about staining. My other MJD is made out of harder plastic, so it's not an issue. But now, it is. And there we have another doll added to the 'needs shoes' list...
Update: One day later and it turned out the socks caused some rather large stains. Most of the area where the socks covered were fortunately covered by some low stick paper tape, so not all of it was stained, but darn are those spots visible. Benzoyl peroxide did seem to lighten the stains a bit, but not by much. Still undergoing this treatment and let's see whether this is effective for TinyFox dolls. Yeah, he's getting new socks. He's my first vinyl of this type (rest are ob11 dolls or have harder, more stain resistant plastic like the MJD hybrid above) and I did not expect vinyl to stain that easily.
Update 2: Benzoyl peroxide did lighten stains but some of them are still there. It also discolors the area that it touches and leaves behind a color that looks like a faded yellow bruise. In fact, Lilith looks like he has some bruising on his calves and feet now. TinyFox dolls seem very different from Dollfie Dream dolls, which benzoyl peroxide is recommended for. TinyFox dolls appear to be made from solid PVC and no internal skeleton like DD, with the joints being ball sockets with the rest of the body part being solid. The body is covered with a rubber like coating that apparently comes off if you use abrasive materials like a melamine sponge, so TinyFox dolls are probably going to be a pain to destain. I do see a lot of listings on Xianyu (Kind of like a Chinese Facebook marketplace or craigslist, etc.) that don't even bother to remove the stains and sell it as it likely due to the difficulty of doing so. I don't see any helpful solutions on how to remove the stains either, so once a TinyFox doll is stained, it seems to be stained for good.
It feels really nice to pat his head since his hair is so silky and soft.
Imomodoll Toppi
I've been wanting vinyl dolls for a while, and although TinyFox does offer a sort of vinyl doll, it's not really quite the softness of Dollfie Dream or a similar jointing system. Nor do they still offer tan. I've had my eye on Imomodoll's 1/6 line for a bit now since they offer their dolls in tan colors, which is a rarity among vinyl dolls. Toppi is a new sculpt with orders opening late April, and since I missed previous order periods for previous 1/6 orders, I got him.
It's a pretty cute doll, although there are some notable issues with the leg on the left being a little too long,and some cuts on the thigh. The leg issue is common enough that there are posts on Little Red Book that teach you have to fix this (by cutting part of the internal skeleton) and Imomodoll does have an issue with quality, especially with initial releases (the first release of the 1/6 body suffered from the legs falling off, and this was a problem for the new 1/4 bodies too.) Since he can still stand, I'll leave it alone. He'll also be wearing long clothes that obscure most of his body, so there's no need, but if you want to have your doll wear shorter or clothing with less coverage, you'll probably have to make some mods to fix it up. It's a pretty cheap doll too, only 108 RMB if you get it from the store on Taobao, which was were I bought mines from (just a few kuai more than blindbox obitsuroids).
Toppi can take 14-16 mm eyes, and there's a slight gap if you use eye chips but domed eyes leave no gaps. 1/4 wigs fit him and I'm not sure if 1/6 wigs do. He's squishy compared to TinyFox since he uses an internal skeleton covered in soft vinyl parts (think of squishy vinyl toys, I guess the closest comparison for me would be G1 MLP ponies) compared to TinyFox, which uses socket and hinges much like most obitsuroid bodies and is basically solid PVC. As a result, Lilith remains the heaviest vinyl doll of my collection so far.
They are planning on releasing a 1/3 vinyl male body later in the year, and judging by their recently released 1/3 male head, they will be offering it in three colors, with a tan option available, although it looks a little lighter judging by the color swatch on their Taobao listing. Since Volks doesn't usually release tan dolls, much less boys, and it's difficult to get if you're international, I'll keep my eye out on future Imomodoll releases. I guess I can just dye a Yeluoli doll tan, but it's not the same.

So my Dollbot body finally arrived. I had the head for a bit but was unable to retrieve it until recently, which made me decide to buy the body as well. Here's the head box on top of the box the body arrived in. Now let's get started on opening the box.
I was surprised to see the body's box being the same reflective material as that of the head. Honestly, I don't know what I was expecting. The bubble wrap was packaged really neatly, and the body lay nestled between a layer of bubble wrap and plastic inside the box.
My first impressions of the body is how soft it was; I think it's the softest of my large vinyl dolls, with Imomodoll being the hardest, Dollfie Dream in the middle, and Dollbot being the softest. It surprised me, and I was really worried about accidentally denting or staining the body. The joints are similar to other vinyl dolls, but there's still a learning curve, as I noticed my doll's joints didn't move as I twisted a part, but the part I was twisting rotated to the direction I wanted. I really like seeing different construction types like this though.

Here's the head peg system. You take off the top part and then stick it through the neck hold and then put the top part back on, which keeps the head in place.

The body is pretty fun and it does look good, but my doll's leg kept dropping off. It felt looser than the other joints, and I don't know what's causing it, but it does mostly stay in place. I think I may need to mod this joint so it'll stop falling out. It's an issue with most of the vinyl dolls I owned, with all of them having that one weak joint. (Candy is her arms, Lance is his left hand, and Giski is his left leg)

Here's a photo of her with my Imomodoll and my Dollfie Dream. Her head seems really big compared to the other two, while also having a curvier and shorter body.
The eyes are also massive, for even my 20mm eyes look small with her. I don't like really large irises and I think this effect with this eye is actually a bit closer to how I would like her character however so this works out.
And that's it for now. I really like my Dollbot and since I now have the body, I look forward to making her dress. It's going to be a long process though, since I need to properly learn how to draft, drape, and make patterns. I hope I can post more of her or her progress at least.
Snake Obitsuroid Body
It finally arrived! I was quite happy that the artist opened up pre orders this year, and the wait it over.
It's fairly flexible and made up of many separate joints, so you can twist the body around to get it in a pose you like.
There were a lot of colors this run and there was also the option for a female upper body. The color I got was the star ocean one and I chose it since it was blue and has this iridescence to it. It's a bit hard to see in the pictures, but there is a purple shimmer to it. It's so hard to pick up that when I saw it at first in other people's pictures, I was worried that the shimmer was an option you had to add on instead of the actual color.
One thing about this body is that it is long. It can be twisted up to make it more compact, but when stretched out, it's over 40 inches.

Overall, it's nice.
Got a BJD carrier for 1/3 dolls and WOW ITS BIG.
That doll next to it is around 62 cm and on a stand.
It has a lot of straps and ribbons inside. Need to adjust them.
It was worth the wait. I don't think there are a alot of 1/3 carriers where you can have a doll standing straight and in style of smaller doll carriers.
