Brown Bat - Tumblr Posts
I decided to try making a rottmnt OC. This is my first time drawing him, so I obviously still have some details to work out (as well as the art style lol). This is Richie, a brown bat mutant. Before his mutation, he worked at an electronics store (think Radioshack). He's a bit on the gruff, rude side, but he's not really malicious. If you have one of those friends where you're just mean to each other but don't take each other seriously, that's basically his personality. Since becoming a bat, he's developed the habit of squealing when he gets excited. His mutant power is a cartoony variant of echolocation that, as well as the usual function, allows him to see electrical currents. Yeah, he needs a little work. If you've got questions about him, I would love to answer. It would force me to flesh him out, haha.
I drew some more of Richie. I changed a couple of details, and came up with a few more tidbits about him.
He's still a brown bat, specifically a big brown bat.
His vision is actually perfect, in a human sense; it didn't deteriorate when he mutated.
He's embarrassed by his squeak, which happens whenever he's excited or startled.
He wears dog tags out of respect for his older brother, who joined the military when he was younger and was later killed in action. When he was alive, they got along well.
Despite being a bat, Richie is a slow flier.
He was devastated when he first found out he liked the taste of bugs. He licked a spider off of the wall in his apartment. He refuses to talk about it.
Were he to meet the turtles, he would get along well with Donnie due to their shared interest in machines. However, Richie had mostly dabbled with dissecting smaller electronics, such as phones and microwaves, to discover how they worked.

I think Richie's design is finally starting to flesh out a little bit. Oh, and I added another info tidbit about him: He has really bad memory!
