I have a hopeful prediction on potentially who is going to make it to the top 23.
It's in the manga covers.
What if it is in the manga covers? Because took a closer look and noticed that the Blue Lock Eleven uniform does have the Japanese flag on it, that indicates that they are now the new U20.
When they played against U20 their uniform didn't have the Japanese flag at all.
Took it to consideration as well that the only two U20 players also participating in NEL that have a cover are Aiku and Sendou. Note: Despite that Shidou played for U20, he is still wearing the Blue Lock uniform instead, so I counted him as BL. I also did not include Sae as he is not participating in NEL, despite playing for U20.

I was having this internal monologue about the covers of Blue Lock and considering the amount of characters they have, let alone, I am aware that there are some that are just there and have no purpose at all, they're just there to exist. Then went, "hm is it now too late to add those characters with little to no relevance to the plot for a cover? Probably is." I'm personally curious what the next cover pages is going to look like now the most BLLK boys now have their own. I get that Zantetsu and Igaguri still doesnt have one, maybe there is a reason behind that. Zantetsu is pretty relevant in Episode Nagi that's a sure fact.
If this random ass theory became true I will cry happy tears, throw a party or something. Does it make sense?
