Btw you can be intensely critical of the Democratic party and recognize that it is full of aged out of touch moderates who are refusing to meet the urgency of the moment,
and also recognize that voting for Democrats is extremely important because it allows things like the confirmation of Justices and prevents the literal fascist party from gaining more power and that harm reduction is an important end in itself
These things can coexist
Politics is a long game. Being disappointed and angry today does not obviate your responsibility to participate

I was having A Bad Time last night because I was freaking out about the us election and what it will mean for me if trump gets in
for context I have never and will never live in the us

trans rights isn't a super big issue here in the way it is in the us or uk
like you've got one minor party who is using the rhetoric
and even then it doesn't come up that much
and obv thats not to say that there aren't trans rights struggles here cause there super are
but like for example a friend of mine can go on hormones here where its impossible for him in the uk
but like :(
if trump gets in that is super going to change
because trump being in office legitimises that rhetoric
and then its a slippery slope down to the right
and thats not to mention how trump being in office will fuck over efforts to reduce climate change
hes gonna stack all those agencies with climate deniers
