Like, Calum and Luke's lower registers, Michael harmonising with the girls, Perrie singing a high note, and Ashton a solo?
I wish 5SOS5 got the recognition it deserved last year; because, God, CAROUSEL is a fucking masterpiece (so are Bad Omens, YDGTP, and Caramel) and I would have loved to see CAROUSEL win song or record of the year at the Grammys.
Or, honestly, I wish I heard COMPLETE MESS or Me Myself & I on the NZ radio because they're heavenly singles.
How have I just come to the sudden realisation that all my comfort characters are male cinnamon rolls?
There's Peter Parker from the MCU (Tom Hollands version), Virgil Tracy from Thunderbirds Are GO!, Nick Nelson from Heartstopper, and Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir from Miraculous (though he's more of a sunshine), and I could also count Calum Hood because he's my fave member of 5SOS.
But like... does this mean I have type???? In comfort characters??? Cause my fave females characters are all badasses (Annabeth Chase from PJO, Astrid Hofferson from HTTYD, and tbh I like all the girls (apart from Lie-la) in the miraculous fandom, especially Juleka tbh (she's hot asf as Purple Tigress)

The Feeling of Falling Upwards is being released on April 14th, and Tour Dates for the 5 Seconds of Summer Show 2023 world tour have been announced!
There weren't any dates for Australia and New Zealand, so hopefully they will be coming soon!!!
And new merch will probably be out too!!!!

omg yes!!! thank you! I am a half māori also and it is so incredibly true that I feel more hope in pursuing a music career because I have people like Calum and Mali to look up to. Even 5sos just being from "down under" and making it so big after growing up in a smaller town inspires me because if they can do it, then I could as well.
I really hope we see a push in young indigenous artists in the future because I'd love for our cultures to be shared through our music to a lot more people.
while we’re seeing people discovering in real time the bands they listen to are exclusively white, go give calum some love. not just because we as a fandom look better because of him. he’s not a token poc so we can check off a box because he’s half Māori. but give him some love because the music industry is so full of obstacles it’s hard enough if you’re white and—nearly every successful australian musician is. because he’s so talented we should be appreciating him, because now that 5sos has done it so many other talented aussies and kiwis of colour feel hopeful that they can make it too. and give mali some love too. you know how proud I am of the hood siblings?? smashing glass ceilings which shouldn’t exist but they do and we can’t not acknowledge that. I hope we see a lot more talented indigenous artists getting the recognition that they deserve. I hope we see a trend that makes a dent in the genres we know. but for now?? we really gotta appreciate the ones we have
