Welcome to the new age part 13
The beach seemed to be in a daze. While most still went off to the party, there seemed to be this fog around everyone in regard to the change in command. Everyone gave the militants more room than normal, and Asuna did everything she could to avoid them as much as possible.
With Kuina posted up on one part of the hall, Asuna kept her eyes on another part, walkie in hand as Chishiya went to work. Now that they knew where the real safe was, it was now time to get the cards and run. But after the stunt with Arisu there was the fear that there would be eyes on the room. Of course, the militants were too busy throwing their weight and partying to really care. Aguni was sulking somewhere, and Niragi was busy.
There was a bitter taste in both women’s mouths when thinking about what would happen to Usagi, but Asuna planned to get her and Arisu and escape as quickly as possible. Closing her eyes, she let out a breath before bringing the walking up. “Hurry up cat eyes.” She said softly, smiling at the nickname she had given him the night before.
“That was supposed to stay between us.” He said back, a hint of annoyance in his voice, but she could also hear the amusement. Kuina didn’t have to say anything, but there was no doubt in Asuna’s mind that she was smiling.
Asuna was lost in thought for a moment when she heard “Remind me not to get on your bad side.” Came from Kuina. It was a thought that had crossed her mind as well, and she wondered what happened to those that did. She glanced around the empty hall, making sure to keep a lookout as Chishiya replied back “Yeah, I get that a lot.”
Before long, he was victorious and had the cards. “I’m going to go get Arisu and Usagi.” She said into the walkie, pushing off the wall. She waited for a reply, her feet carrying her towards Niragi’s room.
“Asuna, leave them. We have to leave before anyone realizes the cards are gone.” Chishiya called back, and she stopped walking. She knew he was right. If they got caught the punishment would be bad, but she couldn’t just leave Usagi.
“I can’t leave her to Niragi.” She stated, starting to walk again when that bad feeling in her gut hit again. She ran to Niragi’s room, her boots thudding on the floor, echoing in the empty hall. She stepped into her brother’s room just in time to see the TV turned on, the white screen bright.
Niragi looked at her in anger for stepping into his room, already knowing why she was there, but his eyes settled on the TV, laughing when the 10 of hearts was shown on the screen. “I called it.” She groaned, rubbing her temples. She hadn’t expected The Beach to become one of the Arena’s, but it made sense. Though how the game masters knew about those problems within the beach in order to choose this night for a game made her suspicious. One of the game masters had to be an executive.
A thought for another day she told herself as she pulled Usagi out of the room. “Go find Arisu. He has to be locked in one of the rooms and he needs to be a part of this game.” Shoving the girl down the hall, Asuna ran to the main entrance, meeting up with Chishiya and Kuina.
“You were right.” He said simply, glancing over at her. His hook was pulled over his head, something he seemed to do every game. She nodded, glancing at him.
“I didn’t expect this to be the Arena, but it makes sense. Considering everything that has happened.” She muttered back, closing her eyes for a moment. “I sent Usagi to find Arisu. He needs to participate in this game to up his visa, and we have no choice but to play.” Chishiya nodded, his eyes on the body before them.
She finally took in the sight before them, looking at the body on the floor. Someone had killed her and left her in the place with the most traffic. However, it would also be empty for a time, meaning it would be a perfect spot for murder.
Game: Witch Hunt.
Time Limit: 2 hours.
There is a witch among you all. They have murdered one of your own and you must find them. When you find the witch, burn them in the fire of judgement to clear the game. Players win when the witch is found. Players lose if the with is not found within the time limit.
The announcement started, everyone looking at a fire was lit in the back. Just as everyone started to panic, Asuna looked at Chishiya. “This is going to be really bad.” She whispered, her eyes landing on Niragi and Aguni as they pushed through the crowd.
“We have guns, so we’re not the Witch.” Aguni said, hands in his pockets. This didn’t seem to settle anyone, as fingers started to point at Momoka’s friend, then at Usagi. “Start burning people until we find the witch.” Aguni added after a moment, causing Niragi to cheer and let off a few shots.
A hand on hers brought her out of her panicked thoughts, brain buzzing with ways to stop her brother. How to save everyone. Who the witch could be. Chishiya dragged her and Kuina into the surveillance room, the door shutting and locking.
“Let’s lay low here and see what we can find out.” He squeezed her hand, looking at her in a way that told her to breathe. He saw all the ways her brain was working and knew it wouldn’t help anyone if she couldn’t focus.
Finally getting her breathing under control, she nodded her head before looking at the screens. “It’s going to be a blood bath.” She sighed, never once letting go of Chishiya’s hand despite Kuina’s questioning look.
Welcome to the new age part 14
Watching through the screens how people got shot was shocking. Sure, the games were all about survival, and death was inevitable in this world. But she hadn’t expected everyone to suddenly turn on one another so quickly. But that was the beauty of hearts games. It was meant to play with your mind, twist everything around you and break you down. Kill you in every way possible and see if you could make it out in the end.
But this was another level that shouldn’t have happened. Logically, they would have talked it out. Tried to see if there was a way to get fingerprints off the knife and go from there. But with the change in leadership, it was all shoot first and don’t ask any questions.
“We have to find the Witch.” She said, never once taking her eyes off the screen. Outside, people ran, and they were picked off one by one. No doubt her brother was on the roof, enjoying himself. And there she was, hiding from the chaos while people died, and the witch was still on the loose. Kuina leaned in to look at one of the screens, looking back at them. They all saw the movement in the morgue and seemed to have the same thought.
“I’ll deal with Niragi.” Chishiya said, giving her hand one last squeeze before letting it go. She looked at him, worry crossing her features for a moment before nodding. “Kill the fucker if you have to.” she finally said, resigning herself to the fact that her brother was probably going to die. He nodded, Kuina mentioning she was headed to the morgue. That allowed her to find Arisu and get him in the game.
Going their separate ways, she took off down the halls, checking rooms on her way. Every time she heard gunshots, she stopped, listening for the direction before moving on. Moving up a floor, she found Usagi, sighing in relief.
“Have you found him?” Usagi asked, frowning when there was a nod. With more gunshots, they took off again, checking every room possible. Eventually they stumbled into one of the rooms to hide, finding a militant hiding in the bathroom. Usagi questioned him, finding out the floor Arisu was on. They took off again, and Asuna hoped Chishiya and Kuina were having better luck. She hoped they were safe and would get out of this alive.
She felt the wind leave her lungs, the wall hitting her back. One of the militants had attacked her, a knee coming up to connect with her face. Looking up at Usagi, she nodded, letting her know to go on without her. Standing up, she moved away from the woman before her, smiling wide as she eyed the woman.
“What. Still upset I beat up Niragi?” she asked, dodging a punch to the face. Catching the hand, she flipped the woman and threw her to the ground, stepping around her. “I see. You got a thing for him. Hate to say it, he probably doesn’t even remember your name. Or that he fucked you.”
Asuna was goading the woman. As much as she wanted to get the fight done with and get back to Usagi, she wasn’t going to miss a chance to let off some steam. A kick to the woman’s side brought her back down to the ground, and then another kick to the face made the woman fall on her back. Asuna was smart. She wouldn’t turn her back on someone who wanted a fight, so she waited for the woman to get up.
Grabbing her hair, she lifted her up, punching her face until her hands were bloody, satisfied that the other woman wouldn’t be moving for a while. Turning around, she hissed in pain, seeing that a knife had been stabbed into her leg. She had been so focused on knocking the woman out that she hadn’t noticed the pain. Groaning, she pulled the knife out, safely tucking it in her boot before tearing off the end of her shirt. Once it was wrapped around the wound, she continued on, stumbling through the hall.
As time went on, she was found by Tata, who helped her back down to the lobby. Arisu of course tried to get everyone to listen to reason, earning Aguni’s ire. But it didn’t stop there. Arisu saw what Asuna saw. The pain Aguni held close to him, causing him to claim to be the witch. The larger man wanted to die so badly because of what he did to Hatter. And as Arisu was barely holding on from the beating, he endured, Ann came in. She showed the bullet, making sure everyone knew Hatter was murdered. More than that, Momoka killed herself and was the witch.
Just as they put the body on the fire, it was announced that the game was cleared. Everyone let out a little breath, but it was short lived. Niragi came in, shirt tied around his head. He had been burned and she knew that it was Chishiya that had done that. She had helped him build the particular gadget that would have caused those kinds of burns and there was pride within her in the fact that she had caused her brother to look like that. But before Niragi could continue his murderous spree, Aguni charged him, carrying him into the fire that was engulfing the building.
Leaning against the wall, Asuna waited, looking at the table to see the card. Just as everyone cleared out, she saw the two people she hoped would have made it. Limping over to them, she smiled, glad the game was over with, and they could leave like they planned. Chishiya put his arm over his shoulder as she held the card, smiling wide at him.
“Well, now we just need the face cards.” She groaned, feeling her back spasm, her body finally registering the pain. With Kuina’s help, they carried her outside, sitting her down so Chishiya could look her over. Kuina would get her first and hopefully only chance to see the brand on her back, glancing at the blond who shook his head.
“What happened to you?” he asked, examining her back to see a large bruise forming. She groaned as he touched her back, trying to sit up straight.
“One of Niragi’s last bed mates decided to pick a fight with me. I guess she didn’t like that I ruined Niragi’s face.” She snarked back, finally laying back with help, glad for the cold ground beneath her. She glanced at the blond when he pulled the cloth off her leg, his face giving nothing away. He pulled something out of his pocket and got to work stitching her leg up.
“Were you a doctor or something before this?” she asked, looking up at Kuina, giving her a reassuring smile.
“Or something.” He answered, finishing his work. “Come on, we have one last thing to do.” Helping her up, they moved along, eventually ending up underground. They made it to a door that was left open, carefully going inside to find that it was empty. All that was left were bodies and so many questions.
“Someone’s coming.” Asuna whispered, following them into the shadows. They watched, looking to see that it was Arisu and Usagi. Stepping out, Usagi seemed relieved to see Asuna okay. Chishiya revealed how he found the place, a map left in the pocket of one of the players from the tag game.
“Now we just need the face cards.” As if on cue the screens above them turned on, and Asuna narrowed her eyes. She should have known Mira would have been one of the game masters. It made sense how she, someone who was so good at hearts games, knew about the tension at The Beach.
She announced the next round of games, and dread settled between them. They had some time to rest, but it wasn’t enough. Asuna knew she would be hindered by her leg, but she would still fight as much as she could. If Mira wanted to ramp up the games, then she’d make sure that the former executive learned how resilient the group was. They would make it out of this alive and return home.
Though a part of her didn’t want to go back to the life she had left behind, she felt she could do it if she had Chishiya by her side. As long as she had him, everything would be fine.

genre: fluff woohoo (i think) <333
warnings: swearing, obsessive chishiya (with his biscuits and u), and that’s all probably!!!! 😊😊
sypnosis: you help a man with white hair in a white hoodie pick out the best cookies there is while he helps you during solitary confinement.

shuntaro chishiya stood out, like a ruby shining bright the most amongst diamonds. he stayed still, as his eyes continued to wander the grey walls of the room. he watched every person one by one, thinking of everything that could happen with them; from every impossibility to every possibility. and soon enough, his eyes stopped on you.
he couldn’t help but feel time slowing by. his vision blurred and his irises grew when he focused on you as you threw your head back, laughing at a joke one of your groupmates said. your smile was of the upmost warmth that lit up the whole room of dullness. the sounds drowned in his ears, and the only thing he could hear was your laugh. he was taken aback, a blush blossoming on his pale cheeks, and he quickly shook his head to get out of this kind of trance.
then suddenly, time went back to normal. the sounds faded back in, and he unfocused on you.
he strided - slowly, yet surely. he watched every move of yours. and his feet were leading him to you, but then everyone was instructed to get into their cells. he would see you again after the first round. he was more than sure of it.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
once the round was over, chishiya immediately went on his way to find you. and he was relieved when he caught sight of that wretched smile of yours that made his ears catch the slightest tint of pink. even though, he was distracted by you, he was distracted by his rumbling stomach more, so he went to where they kept the snacks.
his eyes were scanning every shelf for something worth tasting, but he didn’t find anything at all. however he heard a voice; one that was dripping of silks, milk, and honey. it was all too sweet for him
“you should try these cookies. they taste the best out of everything else, i promise! and it will change your. fucking. life.”
as he looked to the side, he saw you with that stupid warm smile of yours, offering him a pack of cookies, and he didn’t hesitate in taking them at all.
“i disagree with that statement. i don’t think a single biscuit can change how i live my-” chishiya stammered, tasting the cookies. and he didn’t waste time into shooting another one into his mouth. wow.
“i told you, dumbass!”
“maybe you’re somewhat right …” he agreed with hesitancy, dragging out the sentence as a sign for you to give your name.
“(name). and your name is?” curious, you asked.
“give me a reason why i should tell you.” chishiya remarked, and it left you pouting your lips, which he found adorable.
“okay then! hello ‘give me a reason why i should tell you’!”
“it’s chishiya.” he couldn’t control himself as he shook his head, letting out a quiet chuckle.
“okay, that’s a bit better, don’t you think?” you concluded with a toothy smile.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
chishiya was quick to go to a corner just to sit back and watch as if the world was crumbling in the palm of his hand. he found it surprising you were one to trust aramaki urami and her group of doubters and liars. you weren’t safe there, and he knew. uh-oh.
he saw them lie to one man just because he did something they didn’t trust, painting him in the dark light of being the jack of hearts. all said his symbol was a spade, except for one. except for you. he gritted his teeth as you said the truth about his symbol, and all eyes turned to you.
how could you be so stupidly brave?
when your back was turned, you were already being talked about, and he knew what was going to happen. then it was finally your turn, and they did lie. your symbol happened to be a heart. although, everyone else said it was a diamond.
chishiya waited for you to pass by him. once you did, he suddenly grabbed your wrist and pulled you closer to him - he didn’t expect you to be too light, he pulled you too hard that you slammed right into his chest.
neither of you truly minded.
he whispered a word in your ear. a word, a small one at that, one that will either cost or save your life depending if you believe him or not.
“heart.”
your eyes looked up at his eyes; a hurricane of emotions swirling all at once. and his tight grip on your wrist disappeared when he forcefully let you go. you didn’t say anything, you just stared and he just stared too. until a smirk appeared tugging at his lips.
his infamous cheshire-cat smirk.
and that was engraved on your mind as you entered your cell. everything. everything about him. him. shuntaro chishiya.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
he waited, and waited, and waited. what was taking you so long? him caring too much for a stranger, such as you, had him clutching at the chains of insanity. i mean, for all he knew, you could actually be the jack of hearts, marking all of his suspicions wrong.
and why was his heart beating so so so fast? him saving you was a hit or miss. it was either you believed him or not. if you did, then he would be satisfied. but if you didn’t, then he would blame it on your stupidity.
but then, he saw that smile of yours again bouncing across the dark walls of the room; light in a treacherous sea of darkness. you didn’t deserve to be in this world at all, he thought.
chishiya was stuck to his place when you approached him. he was starstruck, to say the least. he swallowed his nervousness, and breathed out.
“you believed me.”
“yes, i did.”
from there on, you two were stuck to each other’s side. until the game. even after the game. you both stayed together. both of you promising that you’ll go back to the normal world. together. as friends who met in a world of life and death.
but shuntaro chishiya didn’t want to be just friends.
and you wanted more too.
you guys should see this 😭
I feel like Chishiya would be that kinda guy who has no sense of flirting at all? and the moment he tries he’d just mumble under his breath like “I think you’re really pretty.”
And maybe it’s off handed because you’re worried about how you look but because he’s so quiet you’d just be like ‘what??’
Only for him to realize what he said and quickly recover with, ‘I said I think you’re really SHITTY’ because he can’t let people know he actually has feelings 😫
Now THIS is the content I signed up for 😫😫😫
Cat memes feat main catboy from borderland
Let’s be real, if Chishiya was ever hugged he’d just stand there like a limp noodle until it’s over lol
I wouldn’t want it any other way because somehow??? Knowing he’s a total asshole?? And him being short just makes sense
chishiya confirmed short king in the manga
And the moment you’d call him out on it he’d vehemently deny it but would ruthlessly plot anyone’s demise who tries to flirt with you 😌
OMG
WHY HAVE WE NEVER SPOKE ABOUT HOW TERRITORIAL CHISHIYA WOULD BE
👁👄👁
He’s SO territorial over his hoodies, never gives out help, never gives out any clothing, medical advice, weapons, food etc
So why the FUCK would he give out you? If you’re his, you’re his.
No one else can touch you, no one can make you smile like him, you’re with him because you’re HIS😭
he’d literally own you.
Told y’all I’d draw him smug after getting punched 😌
When Chishiya has a lil music note after his dialogue in the manga imma just assume he sang that line and no one commented on it. It makes me happy.
alice in borderland spoilers!
my theory as to why tatta died while others (ex. niragi) who faced worse survived
i think it has to do with someone’s will to live. when we learn about tatta’s backstory, we see he carrie’s incredible guilt for what happened to his coworker because of him. he believed he deserved his fate because of what he had done. he had no one to live for and it was easy for him to resign to his fate and let go
it’s almost impossible that niragi would survive being torched, thrown off a building, shot, pushed into a building on fire, and being shot another few times for good measure. how does tatta break his arm and bleed out but niragi is okay? because niragi has a stronger will to live
niragi feels no guilt about his past actions and is fighting for himself to survive. he would never willingly succumb to death. i think the fight against death in the borderlands is more of a mental battle than a physical one
the other characters who survive also have something that they are fighting for which gives them the strength to keep going no matter how dire the situation
arisu is fighting to live on in karube and chota’s memory
usagi is fighting for her father and to get back with arisu (i have a feeling she would have died if she hadn’t had the change of heart and decided she wanted to go back to the real world)
kuina is fighting to see her mother again
chishiya, similar to niragi, is fighting for his own survival but near the end it changes to where he is fighting for the survival of others
aguni is fighting for hatter
heiya is fighting for aguni
ann did technically die and i think it is because she didn’t have anything left to live for. but i also believe she managed to be brought back because kuina’s dying words reached her and reignited her will to live
when we look at karube and chota’s deaths, we can see that they also give in to their fate and don’t fight back at the end. i wonder if that would have changed if they decided to work together in the game rather than against each other

BACK TO YOU — CHISHIYA X FEM!READER
MAJOR AIB SPOILERS !!
SUMMARY — you win the games and wake up in the hospital. remembering everything that happened in the borderlands and not knowing if chishiya made it.
your mouth was dry and it tasted like blood. your eyes opened slowly, getting used to the bright lights of the hospital room and you hissed when your hand landed on your temples. you had some cuts on your face, covered with gauzes and medical tapes, and some bruises too, especially around your eyes and on your cheekbones.
you looked around the room and you could see your mom's purse next to your bed, but she wasn't in the room. somethings never change, not even when you were at the hospital after having been dead for a few seconds. once you tried to sit on the bed, you felt a stabbing pain in your lower abdomen and then on your forearm. your hand went directly where it hurt in your belly and you realized that you were wearing a bigger gauze there and another of the same size on your arm, and at that moment a wave of memories hit you making you feel dizzy. the beach. the next level. the king of spades. chishiya.
chishiya.
you gasped and forced yourself to remember when was the last time that you saw him. niragi's gun was pointing at you when he suddenly stepped in the middle of your body and the bullet with your name written in it.
"why would you do it?" you asked him with tears in your eyes. chishiya just showed you a smirk. you told him that he needed to resist, that there were only two games left and everything will be over. a little smile remained on chishiya’s lips as he nodded slowly. he knew that by the time you completed the games he wouldn't be there. you wanted to stay by his side but usagi and arisu dragged you out of there when the zeppelin of the king of spades appeared.
the last thing you remember from that day was lying next to kuina and ann on the cold ground. your back hurt and your wounds didn't stop bleeding as you watched the fireworks and listened to what you were being asked. "i decline." you finally answered, with tears in the corners of your eyes.
you got up from the hospital bed and noticed that you were sharing a room with someone else. that someone in the room with you was separated from your side with a curtain. with small steps and with a hand on your belly, right where your wound was, you approached the curtain, and being extremely careful, you had a quick peek to the other side. you took a sharp breath after you recognized the boy on the other side. his thick brown hair was stuck to his forehead, and just like you, he had some gauzes on his face. he gave a small jump on the bed when he noticed that someone was staring at him from a small opening in the curtain, but his frown relaxed once he recognized you.
"y/n?" he asked, still a bit confused.
"arisu." you removed the curtain completely and his eyes opened wide. he removed the blanket from himself and turned his body to let his legs hang from the bed, ready to get up from the moment he saw you. you were quicker than him and hugged him, maybe a little too hard because you both hissed when your bodies collided. you stayed like that for a few seconds more and then he asked you if you were okay, and how long had been since you woke up.
"a minute?" you asked him. your head hurt. "everything- everything happened in a minute. all the games, all the deaths? in a minute?"
arisu nodded. you gulped. all the things you lived with chishiya happened in sixty seconds. you felt like you could throw up. you shook your head and decided to talk about anything else. "did usagi make it?"
"yes. she was with me when we finished the last game."
you nodded, glad to hear that your friend was alive. "kuina and ann also made it. i think i heard aguni and akane too but i can't remember well."
arisu then understood. you knew that all of your friends made it but not if he did. "i'm sure- i'm sure he's here. i'm sure chishiya got out."
you shook your head with your eyes closed. arisu didn't know that. when the king of spades appeared and him and usagi separated you from chishiya, his white jacket was already soaked in blood. the first bullet hit him in a noncritical area, but the second one, the one that should've got you, went directly into his chest. you didn't need to be a med student to know that that was bad.
"come on. let's go for a walk." arisu got up from the bed and kissed your forehead after noticing how sad your eyes were. you hooked your arm in his. every now and then arisu would stop to check up on you, if you were breathing well, if you were too tired to continue but you assured him every time that you were fine.
you saw aguni in the icu. the doctors that came out of the room were pointing out how that man being alive was practically a medical miracle. akane was on a wheelchair looking at him through the glass. the girl was very pleased to see you both again. she asked about your injuries and she thanked arisu in a subtle way for winning the last game. she didn't know if you were ready to talk openly about what happened. she didn't even know if she was.
you tried to run and arisu had to hold you so you wouldn't fall down the moment that you saw kuina. her face glowed and she had to blink a couple of times to believe her eyes. kuina was kneeling in front of a woman in a wheelchair, a man was standing next to the two of them, and you guessed that they were her parents. she was quick to stand up, her father had to help her to get to you and arisu, and then you hugged her tightly. you were careful though, you saw how bad her injuries were. you remember the king of spades on top of her, stabbing multiple times her stomach, blood coming out of her mouth and you immobile lying on the ground after being shot by him.
"have you seen him? do you know if he made it out?" you held kuina's cheeks. defeated, you let out a sigh after seeing kuina's confused expression. she shook her head to both of your questions. kuina told you that the last time that she saw chishiya was when the king of spades attacked for the first time, and then each of you followed a different path and she never saw him again after that. but when she met arisu again, he said that chishiya was fine.
you slowly turned to look at arisu with raised eyebrows, and the boy just shrugged his shoulders. on second thought, you were sure that arisu didn't do it with bad intentions. you had to explain to her that niragi shot him twice. kuina gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. you told her that the second time niragi was aiming at you but chishiya stood in the middle. that did not come as a surprise to her. she knew him longer than you did. they were already at the beach when you arrived there with arisu and usagi, and as long as she had known him, chishiya had always acted unbothered. he wasn't a big fan of showing affection. he was selfish, arrogant, and really self-centered. but kuina knew that he would take a bullet for you.
she insisted on joining you and arisu on your walk. you three recognized some people who were in the games with you: people from the beach, that kid usagi fought so hard to save, people you tried to kill, and people that tried to kill you.
"excuse me?"
the hospital reception was chaotic, and you barely heard the woman at the other side of the counter humming to your question.
"i'm- i'm looking for someone."
"name?"
you blinked a few times at her sudden question. you played with your fingers nervously. she raised her eyebrows waiting for an answer. "chishiya shuntarō."
you shouldn't have ask. you should have waited for him to find you. what if the woman told you what you didn't want to hear? no. no. no. you should've waited, or had arisu to ask for you. but now you were waiting for that woman to finish typing on the computer and maybe to tell you that he was dea-
"third floor, room 301."
"oh." you said in a sigh. you could feel all your body relaxing, your hands stopped trambling, your legs didn't feel like giving up anymore. but you could also feel your heart beating in your throat, and your chest slowly heaving. the woman raised her eyebrows at you again.
"do you need anything else?"
you gulped, shaking your head softly and coming back to you. "hm?oh. no, thank you."
you turned around and walked towards arisu and kuina, your eyes locked on the floor. your two friends arched their brows worried, by your face both of them expected the worse. kuina could feel that familiar lump that forms in your throat moments before bursting into tears. arisu approached you and his hands gripped your shoulders. your eyes connected with his.
"y/n-"
"he's on the third floor."
arisu sighed in relief. kuina also let out a sigh and she wiped away some tears off her cheeks before you could see her. she approached the woman and asked for an and she told kuina that she was in the operating room, which was also a strong relief.
time passed slowly, and the way to the third floor was the longest you could remember. not when you were walking to the control room with him and kuina, escaping from the militants, not when you were heading to a game, not even when you ran to him after niragi shot him. the elevator was too slow for you.
arisu was checking up on you, kuina was too deep in her thoughts. once the elevator stopped and the doors opened, you gulped and looked at arisu. he nodded for you to be the first one out of the elevator. what you didn't expect was to see chishiya in the middle of the hallway, his body slightly curved and one of his hands pressing his lower abdomen. he was talking to his doctor, probably asking a million questions like why he had put him on that medication instead of the other one, and trying to convince him why the other one was better.
"chishiya."
the boy quickly turned to see who was calling him and his eyes opened wide in surprise. "y/n." chishiya soon forgot about the doctor. one of his arms wrapped around your waist, the other one hugged your upper body, resting his hand on the back of your head and pulling you closer to him. he hid his face into the crook of your neck.
it was weird having him in between your arms in the real world. once you two were completely healed you'd go back to your normal life but you'll have each other. you were going to have to get used to his twenty-four hours shift as a doctor, and he was going to get used to hugs and kisses every day. but now, with his arms wrapped around you and after gone through that much, he thought that he could get used to that easily.
"i knew that you would make it." chishiya said with a small smile on his lips. one of his hands pushed your hair away from your face and tucked it behind your ear. the other one held your chin up trying to see through the gauzes on your face what type of injuries you had.
arisu and kuina were standing behind you. chishiya shared a glance with both of them. arisu was smirking, kuina was biting her nails with tears in her eyes, probably waiting for her turn to greet her friend but not wanting to separate you. you rested your head on his chest, careful to not touch where he was shot. your lower lip trembled, tears started forming in your eyes.
"i thought that you-"
someone talked before chishiya could. "that could never happen, you know what they say, only the good ones die young."
"you bastard." you looked over chishiya's shoulders and tried to move away from him the moment that you saw niragi at the end of the hallway, approaching the group from behind chishiya. he was quick to hold you tighter against him, to prevent you from hurting yourself even more by hitting niragi.
niragi was smiling. even though half of his body was covered with bandages you could see that disgusting smirk on his lips.
"i'm gonna kill you," you stated. niragi laughed at you. you couldn't see it but chishiya smirked, his arms still hugging you and not letting you part from him.
"it's not that big of a deal, honey. he's is alive and i got to shoot him. we both won."
chishiya could stop you but he didn't have enough arms to stop kuina. the girl passed by your side like a fury. arisu tried to grab her arm but she was mad. her fists were already clenched before she was even close to niragi, and arisu called her name in a last attempt of stopping her. niragi looked down at her with a smile on his lips. he knew what was coming. he had seen that face on kuina before.
her fist closed tighter and with all the strength in her body, she punched niragi. his mouth and nose started bleeding right after but he didn't stop laughing. she had her fist ready again but arisu grabbed her waist from behind pulling her away from him.
"better?" chishiya asked after feeling your breathing slowing down. you nodded and you both looked at kuina kicking in the arms of arisu. chishiya raised his brows looking at the doctors coming to assist niragi. "well, he deserved it." you rolled your eyes at him.
"you have to tell me a lot of things, i guess." chishiya said referring to your bruised face. you nodded, he was going to believe everything that happened between the time he was shot until arisu and usagi won the last game.
"i haven't seen banda and yaba."
chishiya smiled at your innocent. "i'm sure that they are fine but i'm also sure that they decided to stay." you already thought about that. you nodded understanding. what a shame because they were nice to you during the jack of hearts game, and they promised you that you'll see each other again. chishiya knew by your face that you didn't listen when he said that banda was a murderer and yaba was a scammer. people like that could only live freely in the borderlands.
not people like you two tho
Loh-- im smiling soo hard RiGht nOww
✎ weddings in white - chishiya
req: I would like to see like the wedding day of Chishiya and the Reader, with comedy (i like platonic Kuina x Chishiya) and fluff.
[chishiya x fem!reader]
synopsis - the wedding day of chishiya and the reader, post borderlands and they remember everything, also Ann is alive for my happiness ♡
warning! takes place in season 2
"Chishiya! Hurry up or you're gonna be late for your own wedding."
Kuina pounded on the door of Chishiya's changing room. It was her and Arisu's job to get Chishiya ready and to the venue on time, a half an hour before you arrived. Kuina sighed and looked at her watch, they were 3 minutes behind schedule, and if Chishiya didn't hurry up they we're going to be late. "Arisu is already outside! Man, if you don't hurry up we're gonna have some problems."
Another minute passed before Chishiya finally opened the door, Kuina's jaw nearly falling off her face. "You look... different. Good different." She said. "You look decent." Chishiya replied before walking away to meet Arisu. Kuina scoffed before following him and going on about how he should be a little more happy on his wedding day.
Her words faded to nothing in his head while thoughts of you took place. He wondered if you would like the way he looked, even questioning if you would say 'I do'. Never once did he rethink his love for you, but he did rethink the way he showed it. He might not have been the perfect lover, but he was perfect to you.
♥︎
"Y/n! You look beautiful darling." Ann smiled, wrapping you in a hug. Usagi squealed, joining the hug as well.
"You look so good!," she said, "are you excited?" You smiled, looking in the mirror again. "More than you know. Also very nervous." You let out a soft chuckle, running your hands down your dress. "Do you think he'll like it?" You asked, eyes still fixed on your appearance in the mirror.
"Girl, who cares. Look good for you." You whipped around at the all too familiar voice. "Kuina!" You wrapped your best friend in a tight hug, before the realization hit you. Quickly pulling away, you gripped her shoulders. "He's here?" You whisper shouted. "Y/n, girl, you're gonna break my shoulder blades." You chuckled as you released her shoulders.
"Yeah, he's here. After making us 5 minute late." She huffed. You giggled, a light blush dusting your cheeks. "Sounds like 'shiya.“
It had been solid 3 years since you fell in love with this man, your love never once wavering. Chishiya seems cold and unforgiving to most people, but to you he was a whole different person. He was loving, and caring, he just had a different way of showing it than most people. Whether it was small acts of service, or little, sweet moments between the two of you, he always made sure you knew he loved you.
♥︎
This was the big moment. The music began to play while Chishiya fidgeted with his hands, moving to fix his collar. His eyes sifted through the crowd, not surprised for a second his parents weren't there. Neither of you had wanted a big wedding, just a small event between you and your closest friends and family.
He quickly found your family in the back row, half of them already in tears. Chishiya was very good at keeping himself composed, but even he was unsure of what would happen when you walked down the isle. Would he smile? Maybe even cry?
The door opened and Chishiya let out a chuckle. Kuina had insisted on being the flower girl, a big smile on her face as she skipped down the isle tossing flower petals. The crowd was all smiles when she walked down, not sure of what they were expecting, this outcome probably better than all of them. Except for one person, your little cousin who had wanted to be the flower girl, who was frowning in the middle row with her arms crossed.
A glimpse of white caught Chishiya's eye as he felt the breath leave his lungs. You looked absolutely gorgeous as you walked down the isle, arm in arm with Aguni. Chishiya knew you would look beautiful, to him, you always did. Whether you had gone out on a date night, or you had just woken up in the morning you were always perfect in his eyes. But time seemed to slow down as you walked up to him, your hair shining under the lighting, your face lit up with the expression of pure joy.
Aguni looked proud. He's known as an intimidating, stone faced, cold hearted man, but he always had a soft spot for you. You've looked up to him like an older brother since back at the beach, even though he wasn't really that much older than you. You finally reached him and walked up the steps, Aguni letting go of your arm and giving Chishiya a nod with a pat on the shoulder.
Chishiya lifted his hand to rest on your cheek. "You look gorgeous, love." Tears pricked the corners of his eyes, he promised himself he wouldn't cry, while you on the other hand were already in tears. The memories of everything you had gone through together, everything that lead up to this point, started flooding back to them both. Chishiya choked back tears, looking into your eyes. The same eyes that looked down at him during your last moments in the Borderlands. The same eyes that cried seeing him for the first time in the hospital. The same eyes that waited for him after a long shift, holding every ounce of love you had for him.
"Chishiya Shuntarō, do you take L/n Y/n to be your wife, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
"L/n Y/n, do you take this Chishiya Shuntarō to be your husband, to love him, to honor him, to comfort him, and to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
"You may now kiss the bride." The crowd erupted into claps and cheers as the tears finally fall down Chishiya's cheeks, the unforgettable kiss holding every emotion they have for eachother, cementing their eternal love.
