Constant reinfections of COVID have been shown to, not just cause lifelong disability; but ever deepening levels of SEVERE brain fog, memory loss -- even cognitive failure.

Increasing levels of CO2, as well, is not JUST causing climate change…breathing more of it on the regular has been shown to lower intelligence in humans.

Add to that literal generations of conservatives trying to ban books, cut science out of schools, and control what histories and truths are taught. Add the costs of education (much less living); and the absolute fuckery corporations are pulling as far as chatgpt and other "AI" (pattern recognition tbh, not truly intelligent) programs delivering demonstrably wrong answers to users, spreading misinformation at the speed of thought, and messing up search results for those who are at least TRYING to learn....and is it any wonder that this generation is having the worst time getting educated properly?

Let's face it, happiness and joy are distinctly against conservative ways of thinking. 😳

I've never before seen a demographic with such an endless hard-on for ensuring unnecessary suffering, gleeful malice, and needless struggle…both for themselves, and others.

I blame religion, tho, christianity specifically. Maybe if their god didn't constantly beat them over the head with the idea that humans are evil from birth; and that, no matter what they do, they can't really redeem themselves in god's eyes; then perhaps they would think that they (and everyone else) were worthy of compassion, care, liberation, and pleasure.

Throughout history, conservatives have shown themselves to be a people who are fine being crushed by "their betters" as long as someone else is crushed worse.

So long as the hand that crushes them will pat them on the head and proclaim them "special", they're fine with, and will even canonize, their own pains and struggles.

Further, they erroneously view their pain and struggling as having earned them their position of lesser persecution (from a nebulous and magical moral standpoint -- not the transactional one they are heedlessly agreeing to), rather than as an arbitrary, externally-imposed condition originating with our oppressors... despite the startling obviousness of that fact.

It's woven through their religion. It's woven through their economic views. It's woven through their view of social issues.

They delight in victim-blaming and proudly stand up for those who abuse us all...

Because, for all their talk of "freedom" and "individualism", conservatism is merely the cowardly perspective that the enabler takes while watching the conflicts between the family abuser, and the family scapegoat.
