Thinking about Werewolf Soundwave x Vampire Cosmos.

The reason why Cosmos is forgotten about is because people keep forgetting to invite him in and he can't just "invite himself".

I’d like to think when Cosmos asks to carry Soundwave, SW says yes teasingly thinking how his little boyfriend is going to lug him around, before Cosmos undos his mass displacement and just swoops him up. When they cuddle like this Cosmos complexity dwarfs Sw and it’s like a weighted/heated blanket for him.

Soundwave isn’t used to being little so he’s very alarmed and charmed. When they cuddle Soundwave likes to wedge himself under cosmos bc cosmos is warm and heavy and soundwave likes that. He feels secure and happy

I have not!!! Unfortunately I have a disease called Not Being Creative so making OCs and fan characters is almost impossible for me.

I have, however, dabbled in an AU idea where Soundwave and Cosmos find a little protoform bitlet and took it in bc they had no idea what else to do and the bitlet was temporarily dubbed “little spaceboy ” bc they found him abandoned in (you guessed it) space.

Cosmos is immediately enamored by the little mech. Soundwave has deemed himself an unfit guardian so he kinda. Glances at it and then walks off, and Sky-Byte won’t ever admit it but he’s also totally in love with the little bit as well.

Stuff happens, we get some filler episodes, and then eventually we get to a point where The bitlet is Not Happy and it’s constantly crying. Nobody can calm it down. Sometimes thundercracker can get it to stop crying and refuel but only for a short period of time.

Everyone is passing the little mech around trying to find out what to do while also blaming everyone else for making the bitlet cry, and eventually it ends up in Soundwave’s arms. A couple minutes pass of loud yelling amongst the crew, and finally someone (Rumble) yells “everyone shut up the bitlet isn’t crying anymore!!” And everyone panics bc holy shit. They killed the kid.

But no, the little mech is pressed against soundwave’s chassis as soundwave rumbles a nearly inaudible purr from his long-unused dock (an age old tactic Ravage used to calm down Soundwave in the Dead End. Soundwave learned that he could somewhat mimic the purr if he repeatedly winds and unwinds the spools in his chest. It worked with calming down his cassettes in moments of distress, so it only felt natural to do it now).

So now the baby is transferred to the custody of Soundwave (even though he fully believes he is not guardianship material) and Cosmos naturally is along to help.

Cosmos becomes the world’s most doting partner and scurries around to make sure Soundwave and the bitlet have enough stuff to be okay. Soundwave is sitting in the berth with the little mech against his chassis and Cosmos is flitting around with blankets and energon and bitlet-wipes trying to help as much as he can.

Eventually soundwave makes him lie down in berth with him and warm the bitlet and Cosmos is happy to comply. He rambles about how good Soundwave is with the little mech and how caring and wonderful he is and how he looks so good as a guardian and please oh please can we have a bitlet pleaseeee and Soundwave gets so flustered and embarrassed he just puts a pillow over Cosmos’ head and goes right to sleep (while still cradling the bitlet).

Ravage and the cassettes play a big role in taking care of the little mech but that’s a lot of ideas to write out and I scrapped the au idea eventually bc it requires more creativity than I have.

But yeah! Idk! It was a silly little idea bc I do love parental figures coswave,,, oufhhhg,,,,,,,

Talking about Cosmos’ size inconsistency in idw and me and the 3 people on twitter who still tolerate me have decided that the only explanation is that Cosmos mass displaces depending on what size he needs to be

Cosmos is big when he needs to do transport n stuff and he’s small when he needs to do recon. He can be both,,,,

So anyways, thinking about how Cosmos is a very affectionate drunk and when he gets drunk around Soundwave he’ll start rambling about how beautiful and smart and wonderful he is and how insanely in love Cosmos is with him, and its super lame and embarrassing and makes Soundwave giggle bc damn. This guy is sooo lame and it’s really cute.

At some point they end up around the Lost Light crew and after shift Cosmos goes drinking with some others (cdrw, tailgate, nautica, lotty, others, etc etc) and he gets a little too drunk and accidentally starts talking about how crazy stupid beautiful Soundwave is. Eventually Soundwave, followed by meggy, roddy, rav, Magnus come into the bar and everyone is trying to shut cosmos up bc nobody knows they’re together and doesn’t want Cosmos to embarrass himself or say anything that’ll screw up his friendship with soundwave. Cosmos, seeing that Soundwave is with professional company, quickly shuts up bc he doesn’t wanna embarrass soundwave. Or at least he tries to shut up.

It works as well as you’d think. They approach the table, Soundwave quickly notices cosmos is drunk (and staring at him like a sad desperate puppy) and has to take a moment to stop himself from giggling before casually suggesting that Cosmos retire for the night because he’s clearly had too much to drink (ravage, already knowing this is going to go horribly, decides she needs a drink).

Cosmos clumsily (and eagerly) agrees and stumbles out of his chair, before telling soundwave how smart he is for the suggestion . Soundwave thanks him and asks if he needs someone to help him get back to his hab. Cosmos says no, and then tells soundwave hes the smartest mech he knows. And the prettiest. Soundwave thanks him again, amusement coloring his field. Nautica starts hushing cosmos, tailgate and rodimus are laughing behind their hands. Meg and Magnus look horrified.

Cosmos realizes his error and drunkenly apologizes which soundwave dismisses, and again suggests he goes to his hab and sleep. Cosmos nods, but then shakes his head and says he’d rather stay because soundwave is here, and not in his hab. Nautica and lotty quickly get up, grab cosmos, apologize profusely to Soundwave and drag cosmos away before he says anything else. Soundwave sighs quietly, not upset, more amused, but knows he’ll have to explain a lot to the shocked and horrified upper command of the lost light. Not that it’s any of their business, of course.

The next morning Cosmos (hungover and deeply embarrassed) apologizes to Soundwave numerous times for embarrassing him in front of others. Soundwave tips his head in amusement, has nothing to be embarrassed about, Cosmos is his courtmate and he won’t be embarrassed about that (ravage did damage control, telling megatron that cosmos worships the ground soundwave walks on and Soundwave deserves nothing less. Even if it’s just a stupid little autobot, Soundwave is happy and that’s all that matters. Megatron quickly shut up after that). He rubs gentle circles across Cosmos’ back as the poor mech nurses his hangover and pings lotty and nautica an embarrassed ‘thank you’ for rescuing him.
