hello this goes out to the davesporters. here's a bunch of choice snippets from one davesport rp i did. the premise was just "jack is like 'hey your wig looks like shit. do you want help with that, or'" to dave post-dsaf1 good end. theyre total losers. screenshots under the cut so i don't accidentally blow up someone's dash with gay people

theres more but i forgot about the 10 image per post limit so this is all you get for now. i fucking Love how my sister my bestie writes dave. that's such a weird guy (lovingly)

this is my personal treat to myself i'm davesport posting after i finish working. uhhh here's my breakdown of how much jack cares about both reality dave and flipside dave

so it's like. really important to me that i don't think jack is ever... scared of dave. even as davetrap. when they first encounter each other in dsaf3 (and again in the saferoom of jack's fazbender's), jack is initially taken aback, but no matter what dialogue choices you make there's a sense of regret. if you respond with "you should be dead by now" the follow up dialogue is

this isn't right.

you're suffering.

and that feels... so important to me. because, at the end of the day, even though the promise literally never required jack to save dave and in fact he was all but encouraged to kill dave or throw him to the wolves. jack is like constantly trying to save dave. yeah he does go through with the springlock plan in the dsaf2 good ending but given the dialogue i mentioned above and his actions during the 30 year gap (that we know of) on top of everything he does in the dsaf3 good ending? i think it's safe to say across the board that jack regrets the whole ordeal and wants to free dave if possible

and that's kind of just the thing. jack calls dave a monster (optionally, if you choose not to salvage him -- you can still do the good end and salvage him so this half-counts to the point ig), yeah, but it's pretty obvious with how he tries to free davetrap and how hard he works to avoid having to hurt davetrap that jack does not genuinely believe davetrap is some scary vicious monster up until the point where davetrap holds a toddler hostage in the saferoom near the end of the good ending. even during that scene jack brazenly says that he has been trying to save davetrap this whole time. AND when jack is underlining how he planned to burn down the restaurant, he specifically says he only actually decided on burning davetrap with himself (and the other animatronics, presumably) a month ago, when davetrap pulled his little stunt in the saferoom.

ultimately jack was just hoping dave would learn to let go. he trusted davetrap despite flipside!dave's warnings to let go and did his damnedest to give davetrap the chance to rest. and like... additionally davetrap totally had every chance to hurt jack before or during the fire. i think we can safely assume that the fire didn't just instantly destroy davetrap's body to a point where he couldn't do shit. davetrap could've lashed out if he honestly wanted to hurt jack or was angry but i personally believe that it just kind of faded when davetrap saw how badly jack just wanted both of them to be able to move on, even if davetrap didn't know just how much moving on would mean since jack... cannot go to whatever's beyond the flipside.

and with flipside dave it ALSO comes back to the "jack is not scared of dave" thing. it comes off like dave is kind of subtly trying to present himself as more ideal of a person -- he's trying to do good by his own name, the box is just a lunchbox and not a reminder of his murders, that part of his soul in reality is just a monster, a feral beast who needs to be shoved aside. dave will run from his own actions and their consequences and kick at the part of him that did those actions because it's so much harder to face that you did that and can still be better than to just pretend you were always good and better.

but like... jack is fairly dismissive of all of dave's attempts to do that? he jokes around with flipside dave all the same. one of the first things he can ask of dave is to check in on davetrap, even before jack has seen davetrap himself in so long (though again this is optional dialogue so... half-counts). whenever dave makes jabs at davetrap jack responds with blinding nonchalance. because for all dave wants to make davetrap seem like a scary monster and himself as someone trying to do good jack KNOWS davetrap the best, and jack sees something worth bringing happiness and rest to in all parts of dave's soul. he's not scared because he has nothing to be scared of. that's the person he loves, even if he doesn't know how to express it. in a way jack trying to make dave(trap) move on from him is his form of saying "i love you" even if it doesn't help either of them -- jack thinks it will because he knows that dave getting attached will only lead to jack abandoning dave. jack just wants dave to move on in peace.

he cannot fear the man he cared enough about to let go of. or something.

Jack Kennedy has excellent work ethic. For so many years, he's carried out his promise dutifully, working day and night to save every soul but his own. He's been tethered to everyone else's whims for so, so long. And he's so tired. It only takes a few drinks for guilt to become action. Or: Jack can't move on, but by Christ, is he trying.

Jack was about three shots in before he decided on the plan.

It wasn’t nearly the first time he’d tumbled the thought in his brain, but it was the first time he’d done much to act on it. He passively blamed it on the bourbon stirring up the common sense left in his brain, though he knew it was a poor excuse. If he was busy throwing feelings off his chest and reveling in his own apathy, he didn’t have to acknowledge why he was doing this. He could pretend that he was moving on. Didn’t people do these sorts of things when they broke up with their shitty partners? Burn everything that made them think of the person that got away in a fire, never to be seen again outside of smoke clouding the sky?

The thought of forgetting that aubergine fuck for good made Jack’s stomach churn. That, too, he could blame on the alcohol. For good measure, he downed another shot before pulling out his phone. Warmth flooded his stomach and burned his throat. A good distraction from the searing pain in his heart.

Really, the fact his phone still functioned at all was a miracle. He swore he’d had this thing since before he died, though that entire experience had a hint of fogginess to it. He’d believe it anyway, since this thing was decades past its prime. It ran enough to get Jack through the day, though: a texting application, Tetris (for some reason), and – what was currently important to Jack’s mission – a navigation app. He could pull up the bus routes around here, and then from there, it was just a matter of picking the ones to get him where he needed to be.

Bakersfield, California.

Christ, it felt like it had been ages since he last saw the old place. He was certain it’d look different, nothing like its glory days – a term he used very loosely – back in ‘87. They hadn’t torn down the building, according to Peter. Apparently, they were still counting on possibly being able to reopen it if they needed to, using that as a loophole to get past the no more Fazbender’s law put in place after the Bite. Jack had kept up with the news, though. There was no chance in Hell that place had been used as anything but a grave for the victim of the same thing that ended Fazbender’s Entertainment.
