Preventing Tragedies

(A DDLC Fanfic)

Warnings: Suicide attempt, panic attack, mention of suicide

“So, I’m guessing today’s the day.” Silver sighed as she put her books in her backpack. Both Silver and Variety had been stuck in the world of Doki Doki Literature Club for a long week. Monika had warned them about the creepy events that would happen after the first week. Everything in the game would soon come into fruition and Monika has tried time and time again to stop it.

Now, she believed that Variety and Silver might be able to change things. Since they were new variables, Monika thought they might be able to intervene. They thought that they might be able to make a breakthrough if they prevented future events and this was their first trial.

Variety put his things in his navy blue bag and slug it over his shoulders. “We better hurry.” He said hastily. “We need to make sure we get there in time.” Silver shook her head. “I know. It just makes me sick just thinking about it.” Variety looked at her grimly. “I know, but we have to do this. Monika can’t since she’s the one who is forced to activate the changes.”

Silver nodded before opening the door to the hallway. “Let’s just get this over with.” Variety joined her side and they walked through the house together. Their stomachs churned as they opened the door to the outside. The sun was still rising since the sky was a lovely golden.

“Come on! We don’t know what time she’s going to do it!” Variety sped off into the golden streets towards their destination. “Wait! I’m not that fast!” Silver yelled, lagging behind him. They ran for a few yards before they reached their destination. “Ugh!” Silver panted as she skidded to a stop. Variety didn’t say much since he was looking over the house.

The building was blocked off by a white dance and brown gate. The house itself was mostly beige with white trimmings. The roof was a soft red color and the front was lined with nice shrubs. Variety stepped through the small gate and stared into one of the windows. “I hope we’re on time..” He murmured to himself.

The panther walked through the gate as well. “Are you sure this is the right time?” Silver asked nervously. “Pretty sure.” He said, dreading what they might see. “Well since you’re not completely confident..” Silver started to walk closer to the house. “There isn’t any time to waste then!” Variety shook his head. “You're right!” After that, they both walked inside Sayori’s house together.

All the lights were off, giving off a grim feeling. Silver kept her ears perked for any slight sound. They crept through the dimly lit living room and headed up the stairs. Up the stairs, they could see a plain white door. Golden light shone brightly underneath it. “Stop.” Silver whispered when they were halfway up the stairs.

Her ears twitched, she was picking up a sound. The panther leaned her head closer and heard a strange noise. “Nrrgh!” It came from the other side of the door! The duo rushed up the stairs and burst through the door. There, they saw Sayori struggling against the rope tied around her neck.

She grasped the rope tightly and her legs slightly flailed as the rope was cutting off her air supply. “Cut the rope!” Variety yelled as he grabbed her legs. He lifted her up so the rope wouldn’t be so tight. Then, Silver hopped on the messy bed and sliced the rope in three pieces with her sharp claws.

Sayori’s body jerked downwards when the rope was severed. She gasped for air as Variety put her on the ground. He quickly removed the rope from her neck and threw it on the ground. Sayori’s eyes widened as she looked upon the duo. “H-how did you know?” She asked, still gasping for air.

Silver’s eyes darted around, thinking of something to say. “We didn’t. We just wanted to see if you wanted to eat with us.” Variety nodded. “But, why would you do that?!” He said, giving Sayori a concerned look. Sayori shook her head. “I don’t know. It was like I was possessed by something! My depression suddenly got..a whole lot worse.”

Then, her eyes suddenly widened with terror. Sayori backed away from the duo and gripped her head tightly. “What’s happening?!” Silver shrieked. Variety immediately crouched beside her. “What’s wrong?” He asked worryingly. Sayori turned her face to him with a horrified expression. “This isn’t my home.”

Hey Silver, hope you're doing well and that thanksgiving break is near for your school. If it's possible, could I maybe request a continuation of "Preventing Tragedies" where it's a hurt comfort fic of me and you comforting and helping Sayori from her "incident."?

(Sorry that this fic is rather short. I’ve been stressed and exhausted, but I hope you like it!!)

Empathy and Comfort

(A DDLC Fanfic)

Warnings: Panic attack and existential crisis

Word Count: 425

“This isn’t my home..” Sayori whispered as she shook with fear. Silver and Variety were on their knees, sitting beside her. “What do you mean?” Variety asked with both concern..and a tad bit of relief. This was what the duo needed to do. To make the girls realize that they are in a game.

“My room was nothing like this.” She stood up and scanned the room before her. “I didn’t have all these plushies or these notebooks. Don’t get me wrong, they’re cute, but they're not mine.” Silver smiled at her weakly. “Do you realize what’s going on?”

Sayori shook her head. Her legs felt extremely weak and flimsy. “This..is a virtual reality.” Variety explained as he stood up. “We’re all trapped inside of a video game.” Sayori’s face contorted with confusion and apprehension. “Why would you keep this from us?” Silver then stood up as well. “Well..you definitely weren’t going to believe us. You and the others would’ve thought that we and Monika were crazy.”

Sayori raised an eyebrow. “Monika knows about this too?” The duo nodded slowly. She then gripped her head anxiously. “This can’t be right..How would we even get out of here?!” Sayori flattened her back against the wall and slid down to the floor.

Both Silver and Variety grabbed a blanket and some of the plushies off of Sayori’s bed and covered her with them. They both had experience with panic attacks, so they knew how to deal with them. Sayori clung onto the blanket, trying to feel safe and secure. The other two stood by, motioning for her to breathe.

Once she finally calmed down, Sayori stuck her head out of the blanket. “I’m sorry..” She whispered weakly. “Don’t be sorry, honey.” Silver said in a motherly voice. “We understand that this is incredibly stressful.” Variety nodded in agreement. “Just take a deep breath to hopefully try to calm yourself down.”

Sayori looked at the blanket and the stuffed animals around her. “I wanna go home.” This was heartbreaking to hear. Silver put a paw on her hand. “Don’t worry. We’ll get you home.” Variety stood up and dusted himself off. “She’s right. We’ve been working with Monika on a solution for all of us and..well..we’re making progress.”

Sayori nodded, clinging onto the blanket. “Are you sure?” Silver smiled at her with warmth. “We are completely sure.” The duo sat down beside her, one on each side. Sayori looked up and out the window. “Let’s just hope that you two are right.”

I know that in ddlc it's a thing that Monika sees through your webcam but I've literally taped over mine so does she just see the back of some rainbow duct tape?
