P.S. I know, it seems sloppy, I could totally write better than that, if English was my first language, but hope you like it.

“And what if I don’t want to get married with him? I haven’t even turned 18 yet and you’re planning my marriage?” I asked my parents who out of the blue decided to have a ‘serious talk’ with me.

My birthday is in two weeks and they suddenly remembered that they have planned my wedding and that I’m getting married in a month. This is absolutely disgusting.

“Exactly, you’re not 18, so you have to follow our orders whether you like it or not.” I hate her way of thinking. “Your father and I decided that this is exactly what you need at this point in your life and we found a boy, great family status, your age, who is just perfect. I’m sure you’ll get along and even if you don’t, since you’re going to get married, you’ll have to get used to him. You are going to be a woman soon. Women don’t work. You are young, I’m sure you can have children if you try, so there’s no point in arguing when you know I have a point!”

“But mom, what about my soulmate? My mark is going to appear as soon as I turn 18. How am I supposed to get married, if I have someone else’s name on my wrist?”

“First, you know, both of us don’t believe in those things. We’re ‘soulmates’ but we don’t have marks. Second, what if that man is your soulmate? But I still insist, those things do not exist. You can write anyone’s name on your wrist and pretend it’s a soulmate mark or whatever.” My father’s voice was loud and serious.

Well, my parents don’t have soulmate marks and strongly believe the whole soulmate thing is…. Bullshit. But I do believe in these stuff. I have seen older friends of mine have marks. 90% of the population has marks and just because my parents refuse to believe they belong to that 10% I’m supposed to follow their stupid orders.

“It’s not-”

“Enough. You’re getting married to him in a month.” My father cut me off and left the room, pulling my mom by the arm with him.

I need Taehyung.

I left my house, quickly and visited my childhood friend Tae, who lives next door.

Taehyung is an orphan. Actually, his parents abandoned him at the age of 10. He had learned how to live alone, avoided the orphanage at all costs, so we just made sure he always had something to eat and visited him once a day around noon. That was all until the age of 12. Taehyung and I, then, got closer, when he beat up a guy that tried to rob me, so after that he was usually over at my house. He slowly became my best friend. He supported me and I supported him. He helped me solve my problems and I did the same. But right now, I knew he couldn’t do anything other than comfort me.

I spent the whole afternoon in his warm embrace. I felt his warm breath on my neck. His aura was calming me. We didn’t speak at all. Just stayed there. Enjoying each other’s company. I’m lucky Tae is part of my life.

A week passed slowly. I knew I had to live my life to the fullest, before I lost my freedom forever but I just couldn’t find interest in anything anymore. The weird thing was that I hadn’t heard from Tae at all. He suddenly disappeared from my life. Only a week before my birthday. I was worried. He had turned 18 a while ago. His mark had started to appear on his wrist but it wasn’t clear enough yet and for a strange reason he was covering it.

The days passed. My marriage with the unknown man took place. I think his name was Choi Kwangsoo. My parents and his were happy. He also seemed pleased, but I was disgusted. I was rude towards him, his family, my family, everyone. Tae didn’t come to my wedding and to say I was hurt was an understatement. I had no one at this point. I was living through this hell alone.

I had visited Tae’s house so many times. He was never there. I hadn’t heard from him since that day. Our last words to each other were ‘see you tomorrow’, but that day never came.

It wasn’t until six months that had passed after my wedding, when I received a letter, it was from Taehyung.

Dear (y/n),

I’m sorry for leaving you so suddenly, with no explanation, I still can’t explain the reason why though. (…) I hope you forgive me. I hope you’re happy with the man you are married to. I don’t want you to worry about me. Just forget I existed. Just like my parents. Just like everyone else.

Taehyung.

It was the worst day of my life. I kept reading and rereading the letter because I couldn’t believe it. After that I had no feelings. No happiness. No sadness. I just lived. My emotions were drained from me. It felt like I had lost my will to live. Nothing seemed exciting anymore. And that letter from Taehyung was practically nothing. I only knew he was alive. But as he wrote, no explanation. It was the only thing that could bring me slight happiness. That he was alive. He was breathing. But…

The paper was suddenly snatched from my hand by my husband. He quickly read it, despite my attempts to take it back.

“Who the fuck is this, you whore? Taehyung? What the hell? Are you cheating on me? You? A fucking slut, cheating on, ME? I could have any bitch I wanted .and you think you can cheat on me?” He was furious for no reason, but I knew I had every right to be upset with him.

“I-”

“Shut the fuck up!” he cut me off.

He let the paper fall from his hand and took big steps towards me. He tried to grab me but I kicked him as hard as I could

“Fuck you.” I screamed and rushed past him running outside.

I left the house as soon as possible, running to the forest to hide from him.

I ran for what felt like an eternity, before I stopped to catch my breath. When I looked up, the scene I was met with made me freeze.

I couldn’t believe my eyes. A man, with things like thorns coming out of his back, growing like tree branches, high above him. I couldn’t move. My breath hitched in my throat and all I could do was stare at the creature in front of me.

The man turned to look at me and I suddenly felt like I looked straight at medusa. Like a rock, I stood there, my eyes met his red ones that were glowing in the dark. He suddenly disappeared and I finally came out of the trance I was in.

What is this creature?

You could listen to this while reading. (I’ll tell you when to begin) i just wanted to make it more dramatic hehe

Pt1 here

After the shock I experienced when I locked eyes with the mysterious creature, I was reminded of my current state. Helpless, alone, in a forest, at night. What could I possibly do to, at least, survive the night? I climbed up a tree, using every rock and fallen branch I could find, to step on. I got on a big enough branch and sat. Well, this is all I can do. I tried to get some sleep, but the constant sounds around me kept me alarmed.

Unlucky me, didn’t know, that my husband had followed me, until he saw the creature and me lock eyes. That was when he left, realizing he could use all this against me. He, the same night, visited the castle, and to inform the king. Kwangsoo was a lucky bastard, because his childhood friend, Daejung, inherited the throne of his ill father, just a month after our wedding. So he practically didn’t have to do anything but to exaggerate, while explaining to him what happened.

And my luck was still absent, because it wasn’t even an hour after the sun had risen, when I heard voices from under the branch I was sitting. I was in a state of being half asleep, when I realized that the voices were threatening me.

“Get down from the tree, before we come up there.” Kwangsoo’s voice filled my ears. My eyes widened at the picture in front of me. Kwangsoo and five… soldiers? They were armed men in armors, so they were probably part of the king’s army. And at that moment I realized I was doomed.

The men started kicking on the tree to make it move. I had no choice but to get down. The men gathered around me, two of them grabbed each of my arms and the others walked around us, in case I tried to escape.

I was taken to the castle. My hands are tied. Literally. I was put down, sitting on my knees, in front of the king’s throne. Soldiers and maids all around me, Kwangsoo smirking in a corner.

Daejung had a look of disgust written across his face. He ‘tsk’ed out loud, shaking his head from right to left.

“Bring her to the guillotine.” He simply ordered. What?

The men grabbed me again and escorted me out quickly. I was placed in front of the guillotine, in the middle of the village’s central square. The king’s voice was loud behind me.

“Her decapitation will take place on sunset.” He simply stated and walked away with his men. Kwangsoo stayed behind. He placed his hand on my cheek, still smirking.

“And you thought you could run away, you cheating bitch.” He slapped me and walked away chuckling.

(You can begin listening to the song)

As the sun started setting, a lot of people started gathering around me. They were gossiping, everyone on my husband’s side. I never got the chance to even explain myself to anyone.

An ear ripping screech was heard from behind the crowd that had formed. My mother.

She pushed from between the people. As soon as her eyes met mine, she stopped. She took steps back. As people started questioning her about me, she turned to me with a cold glare and the words I heard, hit me harder than anything could.

“I don’t recognize this person. I never had a child. That girl is not my daughter.” She exclaimed and people apologized and let her go. She too steps back, but stayed to watch my decapitation unfold.

The king arrived, along with my husband and a few of his soldiers.

“You have one minute left.” A soldier said.

Revenge.

“Hi mom! Yeah you! Stop pretending you can’t hear m-” I was cut off mid-sentence by a hand covering my mouth.

“Did I say you could speak?” I glared at the soldier and licked his hand and he pulled it away, cringing.

“It’s time.” The king spoke up and moved closer.

“Kwangsoo, will you have the honor?” He pointed at the guillotine and my husband hesitated, before taking a step to the front.

“With pleasure.” He replied and held the rope.

“Let’s all count down, shall we?” The king turned to the crowd.

“3”

I took a breath in. Memories of Taehyung and I filled my thoughts. The first time I met him, the afternoons he spent over at my house, getting along with my family, his 18th birthday.

“2”

Why did he leave me?

“1”

And right before Kwangsoo let the rope go from his hands, a scream was heard from a person from the crowd.

“The demon!” the woman screamed, before fainting.

I turned my head to my left, where she was pointing.

I was faced with something I wasn’t expecting.

A creature with huge wings staring right at the king with a smirk on his face.

My eyes widened.

Taehyung.
