He lost everything once, and he's losing it again. How many times is the world going to take everything from him to be enough?

I'm going to say something depressing (for a change) but why do we feel that happiness, normally first experiences (first kiss, first time) are being taken away from Denji and Asa?

I think all this may be pointing to an answer that is often overlooked and yet is the first thing said for these two characters, right from the first chapter of their introduction

• When the two of you first met, it didn’t end well. Denji thought you were too cute but made a comment about your height that he didn’t mean to sound offensive. Although you look cute, you quickly became violent and ended up kicking him right in the balls for the comment. After that, you both couldn’t stand each other.

• But it couldn’t get any worse once you got ordered by Makima to begin living in the Hayakawa Residences. “You should take this opportunity to understand your co-workers”, She explained while you weren’t having it. Even so, you complied to her orders and moved in with your 3 other co-workers. But eventually with the living situation, you and Denji began to be civil with each other. Afterall, you handled with the cooking and cleaning. You even knew how to discipline Power when she misbehaved.

• After awhile, Denji starts to look at you differently. He thinks your height is actually cute and likes the height differences between you and him.

• He starts to keep the teasing to a minimum and when you take notice, you guys start becoming really close!

• Whenever you’re around Power and she makes a comment about your height, Denji doesn’t hesitate to defend you. “Leave Y/n alone, she can’t control her height! At least she knows how to clean after herself!”, Denji shouts as Power snaps back, “Hey! I actually began flushing!” thus begins an argument between the two. You knew you were supposed to break up the fight but you couldn’t help but just stare at Denji with awe.

• You began doing everything for Denji like doing his laundry and cooking his favorite meals. And when he wouldn’t understand what he’s reading, you would always be there with him to read it for him while he appreciates it a lot.

• When he would be sitting down at the couch, watching whatever Aki put on the tv, you follow in pursuit and would be there right next to him as you wrap your arms around his. You looked like a clingy puppy in Denji’s eyes and he was loving every second of it. “Is this fine, Denji?” You ask with a sweet tone and pleading eyes. “Y-Yeah..I don’t mind..” Denji stutters. ‘she definitely wants me!’ Denji thought to himself

• Whenever he’s around Makima, you can’t help but feel jealous. Although you and Denji aren’t official but the mutual feelings was clear. Even if Denji tries to stay loyal for Makima, his mind would always travel back to you and how you’re actually willing to show him affection no matter where you guys are. Your obvious jealousy and possessive behavior goes straight to his head and makes him fall for you even more. “Ms. Makima, sorry to interrupt but me and Denji are having a picnic date and it’s already our lunch break!” You pop out of nowhere while you protectively cling to Denji’s arm before you lead him out of the office. Oh he is so in love with you.

•You both finally became official after you confessed your undying love for him. Denji swore he was gonna melt from your cute confession——oh how he wanted to be with you forever! Of course he instantly accepted your love declaration within seconds, you didn’t even finish confessing.

•You guys are absolutely so adorable! You both never leave each other’s side. Denji tries his hardest to keep the relationship always in it’s honeymoon phase.

•Everyone around you might think you guys are gross——Aki rolling his eyes whenever he sees you guys being all lovey dovey and Power making unwanted comments. But it didn’t affect you guys at all. You’re just happy to be each other’s company.

•Denji tries to participate in any activity you like doing! For example, if you like to paint. He will be there right next to you, painting as well. It’s always silly things he draws balls but they always look bad, he’s trying his best tho.

•Whenever you guys are out, Denji has the urge to carry you everywhere. He would hold you up when you can’t reach something and you reward him with head pats as you praise him for always thinking about you.

•Speaking of praises, this boy loves it when you praise him even for the bare minimum. He loves hearing you calling him a good boy and rewarding him with letting him lay on your chest after he protects you from a devil during a mission.

•Something you guys like to share is your clothes, even though his clothes is very big on you while your clothes can be tight on him. “Are you sure you wanna wear that? It’s a size medium in women’s, I don’t think it’ll fit” You spoke up while watching Denji put on your hoodie, “Pssh! It’s fine! I like it because it smells like you!” He reassures right before he stretches the material. You like wearing his sweatpants since they’re really comfortable and soft, especially when you’re guys are cuddling. He enjoys seeing you wear his clothes.

•Also might I add, he thinks you look so pretty——literally! Whenever you’re doing just about anything, he can’t help but stare at how cute you look. Cooking, washing the dishes, writing, walking back from a mission, Doesn’t matter because he will always tell you how beautiful you look and you just can’t help it but hug him even more.

•When the first time you guys kissed, Denji couldn’t stop smiling. It felt like fireworks were exploding inside his body. Although of course he had to crouch down since he didn’t want you to hurt your neck more than you already have whenever you look up at him, your lips felt so soft that he got goosebumps all over his body. As you pulled away with a flustered look on your face, your eyes holding adoration and love for Denji. You were obviously embarrassed when he couldn’t say anything. “I-I’m sorry! Was I too stiff?! I swear I don’t mean-..”Denji stopped you from ranting as he quickly but carefully holds you up. “Can I kiss you again?” He asks while you couldn’t help but smile before nodding and leaning in again.

I don't know why but I feel that Chainsaw Man is a true Freudian psychosexual story, where the protagonist has a very strong Oedipus Complex in the first part and in the second tries to gratify his desires without finding a reason to do so, other than to fill his emptiness.

So like… in the recent csm chapters Asa is being saved by chainsaw man, and they have a cute talk about how to keep living even if it’s hard (even if Denji ruined it by saying he just wants to have tons of sex lmfao) .

I always assumed in the manga that his voice is distorted when he’s in that form, but in the anime his voice is as clear as day. So is Asa just not going to recognize Denji’s very distinct voice in the anime when they get around to animating her arcs?

Maybe theyll fix the voice in later seasons but I think it’d be hella funny if they pull some Miraculous Ladybug shit and just have everyone be clueless about the secret identity of chainsaw man… while it’s literally just Denji’s voice screaming when he’s in that form.

If Denji were a girl and Makima and Himeno were men, no one would even hesitate to say how fucked up their scenes together are. There would be no “but he wanted it!!!” Justifications. But Denji being a guy doesn’t make it any different. Makima and Himeno being women doesn’t make it any different.

Denji is a kid being taken advantage of by adults, no matter what gender the abuser and victim are.

As minor as it may seem I’m so glad that mappa is taking their time with showing these quiet moments of domesticity in csm because that’s really why I love the series so much, the characters feel so human and a large part of that is seeing their mundane daily lives in contrast with the chaos of being devil hunters. Like hell yeah, show me Aki’s morning routine and the way he measures out his laundry detergent. Show me the Hayakawa family all eating dinner together. That’s what I wanna see babeyyyy

" Stupid jerks made us patrol until 11…" Power complains . You hum as you look over at Denji, you can see how tired he is. After all, this thing with the assassination thing is tiring for you all.

Slowly, their voices died down and you drifted off to sleep, even though you were curious to know what Denji said.

The next thing you know when you woke up, is that your head is on Denji's shoulder. He noticed you woke up.

" Doesn't it feel like, it's been a long time ? " You frown, not really understanding what he's saying. Denji peeks at you " How have you been ? " you let out an 'oh' put your head back on his shoulder " I've been fine, and everything's good " he hums " Nice to know…seems like you're doing well. "

You've known Denji before you two became Public Safety Devil Hunters. You had debts to yakuza he was working with, you met and the two of you just clicked together. You were getting along just fine at that time, but with years you've grow up and with your parent's death, you became a Public Safety Devil Hunter to get sweet revenge. You didn't hear anything about Denji since. But somehow, you meet again.

" I miss you… " he continues " It sucks that we can't be in the same division. " you hum in agreement. You wish you could be in the same division with him " But hey, at least I get to see you now ! " you smile softly, even if he can't see it " I'm happy I can see you again. " you say " We should really go out sometime ! " you look fully at him and, with excitement, he turns and looks at you too " Yeah ! And we let out that awesome combo ! " he talks completely amazed by what have you done by that time " I still bring it up time to time. It was such an accomplishing and satisfying moment ! " he giggles excitedly " And we were able to impress people who don't really get impressed that easily ! " you add with a smile on your face " That makes it even more cooler !! " he giggle again, but then lets out a sigh " I feel like everyone's been so serious recently… I don't know why… " the room fills up with silence " I think it's because of Makima. " Denji throws his head back, leaning on the wall behind you " I've ask multiple people what they think about her, if they think she's a nice person. Anndd, I've gotten mixed results. So I can't really make up my mind off of what other people think about her and to be honest, I don't know much about her myself…" and the room is silent again and he turns his head to you " All I know is that I can't wait 'till this Fiasco is over. "

Denji sighs again " So tell me " you look at him " How are you really doing ? " your face remains stoic but deep down, his question made you feel weird things in your stomach " I remember the last time we spoke to each other, you told me you were feeling alone. I'm not really an expert on emotions or feelings or… how to handle a situation, but the least I could do for you is to listen. " you look down at you feet " I wanted to tell you that day… to keep your head up. " he hugs you close to him by your waist, pulling you closer to him " Besides , you and me, we're always going to be close like this ! " he smiles and you chuckle. Denji knows you so well that you don't even need to say anything. He's just gonna figure out himself that there is something wrong. And to make you feel better he's going to talk with you like this. Balbering about life.

" Before I made it here, and reunited with you, and met everyone else, my life was kinda boring. I would always want to sleep, you know ? Sleeping off the trauma. " he awkwardly laugh " I don't want to sound sentimental but, this place, and everyone here… really means a lot to me. "

" I haven't told anyone this before but, I feel like in the past I used to hate my life. Nothing would ever make sense. I always wondered why am I so alone…is there any reason for why I'm alone, for why I have no one? But then…" you could feel his breath on your neck as he holds you even closer, he was kinda nuzzling om your neck " I met Makima, I met Power, I met other people, and I met you… " your breath hitches and you look at him, speechless yet, happy " And slowly… I started to be thankful for things I never knew I could apreciate. I guess that's the game of life. You don't know what cards life might give you…" Denji now looks at you, holding your shoulders. You were just speechless. You didn't know if that was meant to be a confession, or if he just wanted to make you feel better, but you felt butterflies in your stomach .

" I'm so glad that I never gave up… " he looks at you " And that you haven't either. " he smiles and hugs you tight to him. A hug you return, and hug his waist " We have to be there for each other. " he caresses your hair " There's always going to be some hard days… " he looks down at you " And just because we have people around us, doesn't mean that we still can't feel alone. " He really knows his way with his words " But when I'm with you… I never feel alone, I feel like you understan me the best out of all people " He was making you feel things. You grab his shirt tightly in your fist which, he noticed " Don't you worry. I'm not going anywhere " he now plays with your hair, stroking it " and I'm always going to be here for you, [name]. " you look up at him. Denji softly smiles and with his thumb he started caressing your cheek.
