ART PSA: rendering should never be the hardest thing about your drawing
i know rendering seems daunting, but listen step 1- multiply layer, colour related to the opposite of the light source or the background colour depending on lighting step 2- Add/shine layer and then use a hot color. step 3- slap that shit on there in the direction of light. step 4- erase the bad bits and eat a waffle. rendering isn't hard. the only hard part is understanding how the tools work. if your rendering is harder than your sketch and paint phases, then you are overthinking it and need to relax.
