you pace outside the closed doors of the grand hall, thumbs nervously fumbling with each other. the harbingers’ meeting has lasted over two hours already—how on teyvat could all those… eccentric personalities stand being in one room for so long? and what could possibly be of such urgency that all of them must convene? 

the doors then swing open and your shoulders jump at the loud creaking noise. you quit your pacing and stand off to the side, head down and eyes on the ground as pierro is the first to exit. a couple of the other harbingers file out as well bringing a solemn air with them, but you don’t recognize any of their footsteps or the shrill giggle that echoes down the hall.

but you do recognize that dottore’s footsteps were not amongst them, so you stay put, staring at your feet.

“waiting for the doctor?” says a familiar voice.

you look up to find bright blue eyes gleaming at you. tartaglia is the only other harbinger that ever greets you kindly and it still doesn’t make sense to you how the young man found himself among those ranks. dottore has warned you several times that tartaglia is not as he seems, but it’s hard to think otherwise when he smiles so warmly in this land of endless winter.

you greet him as well. “there’s something i need to report to him.”
