DragonTale Part 1 - Toriel
That’s right, we’re motherfucking doing this.
So, this is the beginning to the dragon AU I guess I’m making now. The basic premise is the same as the game, but everyone’s a dragon. That’s litterally it. Frisk and Chara are still humans, exept this time they get to ride dragons. I was gonna start with Flowey, but I’m still working on the Photoshop design ;)
ANYHOO, Tori time!
She’s based off of Old Irish Unicorns, goats, and lions. Though, her feathers are mostly based off of hawks and owls. She can breathe fire, as well as cast spells similarly to in game. Also: it’s hard to tell in the pic but she has qaud-wings.

DragonTale Toriel Doodle Page + Notes!!
So, I’m doing these for each of my DragonTale designs! Baisically I’ll be doing a lil doodle page plus some extra info on the anatomy, world, any changes from cannon etc. This mostly a design based AU, so any changes are litterally just to adapt to having a much larger quadraped instead of a slightly tall biped moving around the ruins lMAO. Anyhoo!! Onto my lil info dump:
- Toriel actually has some difficulty flying. She can get off the ground, but is more built for gliding or short, quick bursts of flight. This is due to having heavier mammalian bones and two sets of wings. They’re mostly for show.
- That being said, she is an exelent climber. She can scale mountains and large trees easily.
- She is 8 feet tall at the head, 8 feet long at the hip, and 16 feet long from about to tail. Her wing span is also 20 ft long. Though, the inner set only have a 16 ft span.
- You saw that picture right, she has hands. Well, closer to half hands half paws. She flat palm walks, similarly to a monkey of a bear and has a developed thumb. Again, kinda like a monkey.
- She’s a mammal, not a reptile!
- She can breathe fire! She can control the heat of the blaze, and often uses it to bake. She can also use pour healing magic into the steam that comes out of her nostrils!
- She carries all of her children by the scruff of thier neck. If it’s a human, then she’s grabbing by the shirt.
- Tori floofs up when provoked or angry. Think an angry. When the neck fur raises, watch out.
- Also!! The ruins is a lot larger in this Au, mostly to compensate for the massive beasts roaming it’s halls. Toriel’s cottage is more built for a qaudriped. She has a nest instead of a bed, the chair is a comfortable rug, everything’s larger and more spread out, that kind of stuff. I’ll be making floor plans soon!

DragonTale Part 2 - Sans
Yep, I’m still doing this. I have that little self control. But in my defense, dragons are cool and I like them.
Anyhoo! Onto the fandom’s golden boy:
Sans’s design is mostly based around Gaster Blasters! Or at the very least, his skull is! Imma be honest here, it’s just a recycled version of the GB! Sans design I made a while back. But!! I put a lot of thought into what a blaster would look like with a body so I’ll talk about that:
Bone and posture wise, I took a lot of insperation from racoons, bears, and cats. Though, structurally he is closest to a bear/hominin. There’s also a wee bit of equine inspo in the ribs, and porquipine in the I’ll go more into anatomical details in my big doodle dump!
(Also I promise not everybody’s wearing a cloak, it just fit the style for the character’s I’ve drawn so far lMAO. Also the tail spines aren’t cutting through said cloak, it’s difficult to see at the angle but there’s a slit for them :D)
I don’t know if I’ll be able to put anything out for April Fools Day because I’ve been really out of it today, so have a doodle of haha funny bone man.

DragonTale Sans ref/notes!!!
Ok so, I haven’t really been able to bring myself to draw much due to a recent surgery and being out of it. But!!! I was feeling better today and decided to finish up this doodle page for DragonTale! Here are some of the anatomy notes, as per usual! I’ll be going more in to detail about Snowden accomidations and stuff as well, cause I have to split a lot of the anatomy between Sans and Paps lmao.
ANYWAYS:
Notes:
- Out of all the dragons I’ve designed, Sans and Pap are some of the most chimera like. They both have a LOT of inspirations for structure and aesthetic because nothing is really quite like a Gaster Blaster. For example, Sans is mostly comprised of an unholy mix of Felidae, Ursa, Primate, and whatever the fuck a oppossum is traits. There are also some influences from lizards and porcupines.
- Speaking of porquipines, let’s talk about those back spikes. They are usually relaxed, but flare up when he’s experiencing an extreme emotion or using magic. Each spine can raise, if not only slightly. At the upper portion of the tail they dull out before stopping completely.
- He has a prehensile tail! It’s strong enough that he can hang (and sleep) upside down like a bat! That, combined with his sharp clawed paws and smaller build allows for him to climb very easily. He’s practically built for the trees, and naps in them more often than naught.
- He’s only 4’8 tall and 5’ long at the hip. From snout to tail tip though, he’s a good 8’6! So, at least he’s got that going for him!
- His fire power is a... difficult process. Sans can’t exactly open his mouth wide enough to allow for a beam of raw magic to get though. At the very least, not without disintegrating his teeth. Luckily, his skull can separate into 3 separate pieces! Baisically, his jaw unhinges then separates at that middle crack, allowing for and easy shot. It makes a lot of gross cracking noises and is very unnerving to watch.
- Instead of knocking using his paws, he uses his tail to whump against the door! It’s even gotten a few small cracks from particularly eager jokes.
- His eyes dialiate and restrict like a cat’s! They also grow brighter or dimmer depending on mood and energy!
- His power set is also the same, albeit some of the actions used are slightly different. Telekinesis is a lot harder when you have to use your head or tail to direct the blows.
Ok!! Now some facts about Snowden town:
- It’s much more spread out than in game, with the woods pressing in tighter at all sides.
- Most of the houses are closer to primitive shacks and burrows, thanks to most residence lacking hands.
- Grilby’s is one of the few actual buildings, but is closer to a Medieval style tavern.
- The most advanced building in town actually belongs to the skelebros. It’s like. Literally the same as in game but slightly bigger and with more grooves from Papyrus’s massive horns. No one knows how they built it because neither of them have hands.
- Also here’s a picture of what Lesser Dog looks like this in this Au. It’s important.
Hmmmmmm for colored pencils requests, maybe more of your Dragon AU? Maybe Soriel? :3

Man, it’s been awhile since I worked on Dragontale! I kinda got side tracked and worked on other projects….. Still!!! I have those old sketches of character designs so Im gonna get back on it again!!! I missed it :)
