Ecorche - Tumblr Posts

I recently taught a 4 day introductory workshop to ecorché, or flayed anatomical sculpture. We built wire armatures, sculpted skeletons, built muscles on them, and as a demonstration of the effects of skin and fat pockets, I finished my demonstration piece to the surface. The workshop was conducted in a fairly groggy water-based clay, which wasn't the best, but there were no catastrophic disasters. I would like to get the chance to teach this again; perhaps with more time and a different kind of clay.
