via sudan.updates on instagram: #SudanUpdate: The recent kidnapping (and ransoming) of Sudanese refugee Khairallah Ali Jumaa in Ethiopia, by Ethiopian armed groups highlights the continuing dangerous situations for the Sudanese refugees in Ethiopian refugee camps These refugees have been protesting for weeks previously even carrying out a hunger strike, against the abysmal living conditions, lack of food and supplies, and protection/safety from local armed groups -- despite it being a UNHCR camp. Many rights groups, including the Darfur Victims Support network, are calling on the Ethiopian government and UN High Commissioner for Human Right to act now to protect and support these vulnerable civilians.
