“sunoo?” you called out.
the bombay cat would normally greet you as soon as your keys jingled behind the main door. a loud clang came from the kitchen, and you good-naturedly rolled your eyes. “sunoo…” your voice died down when you saw a boy (you couldn’t be sure, he looked around your age) crouching in front of the sink.
your hands immediately went to your face, averting your gaze as you removed your outer coat and extended it to the nearly naked boy (with cat ears and a tail, you suddenly realized), “who are you?”
“i am sunoo.”
you did a double take.
“but my sunoo is a cat.”
“i am that cat.” he replied confidently.
a moment of silence blanket the two of you and you exhaled shakily, trying to wrap your mind around this situation. the boy, no, your sunoo, looked at you with the same pair of dark brown orbs as you eyed him from head to toe. unsure whether to trust him, you pinched the bridge of your nose, attempting to connect the non-existent dots.
“one second, let me grab clothes.” you gestured for him to follow behind and wordlessly he got up and shuffled behind you. quickly picking out your brother’s clothing, you handed it to him and sat down in the living room. sure enough when he was done, he sat down cross legged on the floor, making himself comfortable as he smiled at you with that cat-like expression. “you really are sunoo?”
“mhm! i am your cat!” he enthusiastically confirmed.
you grabbed the laser and pointed it on the floor and sunoo ignored it, opting to toy with the fluffy rug. “gosh, you really are my cat. but how…”
“long story short, i’m what you would call a cat hybrid.” you quizzically looked at him, “i wasn’t sure they existed but now looking at you...i guess i have no choice but to believe this.” sunoo in human form was unexpected, and you unabashedly had a hard time getting used to his face.
“you aren’t going to dispose of me right? i’m still the same clumsy cat.” you must have been making a face for sunoo to ask such a question. “no! no! of course not. i’ve adopted you to keep me company, and i wouldn’t trade you for the world. you’re precious to me.” happy with your answer, sunoo crawled into your lap (mind you he’s pretty lean and tall) as you habitually stroke the crown of his head.
“that’s good. because i accidentally broke your favourite cup while transforming.” “what now?!”

a/n: just had this happen to me some time ago and once in a while i just think of the person i had interacted with who complimented my work lanyard AND asked for my name?? girl i was so delusional that day

you perked up at the sound of the bells jingling, signaling a new customer had entered the cafe. you stood at attention by the coffee machine, your gaze landing on the pretty male approaching the cashier. clad in a simple button down paired with a neatly pressed trousers, he looked really clean.
"hi, is there anything you would like to order?" you gave him a small smile and the male in front of you whips out his phone, alternating between looking at you and at his device.
"uhhh, i'm here to collect an order." you glanced at a few of the orders printed out, internally wincing from the number of things to be prepared. "well, can i have the name just to check?"
"sunoo? kim sunoo?"
you redirected your line of vision to the multiple receipts, "there's no kim sunoo here..." the male smacks his forehead rather dramatically, chuckling all while doing so, "oh! sorry, the name for the order is yang jungwon, my friend. i thought you were asking for my name!"
sunoo...what a nice name, you mused as you pulled out the order from the whiteboard, confirming it with the one on his screen. he apologetically shoots you a grin and you felt your heart skip a beat. "for jungwon-ssi, it would be just the cafe latte and our specialty sandwich. you can wait over here while i prepare them for you." you gestured to the waiting spot and sunoo nods his head, "thanks for that!"
he side-steps towards the end of the counter for you to attend to his order. even whilst moving around, you could feel his gaze on you as if he was watching your every move. you mindlessly worked through the motions, preparing the food and drinks easily as if it was like the back of your hand.
"for yang jungwon?" you called out and sunoo tucks his phone away. "do you need a carrier for this?" you leaned towards him to asked, the chitter chatter of the cafe mildly increasing in volume. "uhm...actually yeah i'll take one." you packaged it away neatly for him and handed it to him with a smile.
"thank you for your patronage. i hope your friend enjoys it!"
"i'm sure he would." you held his gaze for a little longer and he breaks into another beam, "your sweater is cute, by the way. thanks for preparing it quickly!" he waves his hand goodbye and you mirrored his actions, heart racing in your chest. sunoo leaves the cafe without another word and you shuffled back to the staff seating area hidden near the back of the cafe.
"i saw everything." your co-worker smirked at you and you flushed, "nah, it was nothing."
"that clearly wasn't nothing! he was hitting on you! you've worn so many other outfits before and on no occasion has anyone complimented you so easily like that!" you sighed, aimlessly waving your hands above your head as if to wipe off the delusional thoughts, "he's just being nice."
"uhm...excuse me?" a voice called out and you jumped to your feet, making your way back to the front counter. "yes...oh! you're back!" you gasped in surprised as sunoo sheepishly waved at you.
"anything i can help you with?" you clasp your hand together, subconsciously leaning against the counter towards him. "nothing much, i just thought that i might as well get something to drink too. what would you suggest?" your face flushed when you realized that he wasn't looking at the chalkboard menu, but directly at you. for your opinion.
"well, are you craving something sweet? or savory?" you picked up a smaller menu, gesturing to the cafe's house drinks and snacks. sunoo shrugs, eyes not breaking eye contact with yours.
"i'm not really sure. why don't you surprise me? get me something you would have in this lovely weather." you hummed gazing out at the sunny sidewalk coupled with the lush greenery swaying in the gentle breeze, "sure, if you could give me a moment."
"i appreciate it, and no rush since it's something special." he winks at you with a dazzling smirk and you nearly gushed at this small but effective killer combo. after paying for his drink, sunoo's lean frame patiently settles down at an empty table and you fight the urge to swoon about it to your friends.
(sunoo watches, stare fixated on you as you bustled around, taking orders from other customers at the same time all while making his drink. he catches a glimpse of the pink hue decorating your face, a smile tugging on your lips as you filled his cup, writing his name on the exterior. he hurriedly scribbles his name and number down on his receipt, folding the paper twice.)
"for sunoo?" his name rolled off your lips smoothly, and you were yet again greeted with his beautiful eye smiles. "thanks for waiting." you handed the drink over to him and he pauses, glancing down at the cup before returning his attention back to you.
he squints a little, reading your name off your tag, "and thank you for the surprise. i'll be sure to enjoy this. have a good day!" he slips a piece of paper into your hands, waving goodbye for the second time today. you pressed the preciously folded paper towards your chest, shyly waving back.
"see...see you around!"
