about time - maddy perez

pairing: maddy perez x fem!reader, past!jules vaughn x reader

a/n: maddy is maybe ooc🤷🏽‍♀️ honestly with her seeming more vulnerable in some scenes i’d say it isn’t, but formulate ur own opinion

It was a New Year, so you wanted to celebrate.

The smell of weed, and watching people drink made you want to throw up. It wasn’t because you hated it, but because you just felt sick. The sugary drinks were much more satisfying than the thoughts of drinking bitter beer.

You sat on the large couch, drinking some juice when you spotted her. Maddy walks in with Kat and Jules. She seemed excited for the festivities and ready to party. Her eyes spotted you, and they darkened.

She whispered something in Kat’s ear, never taking her eyes off of you. “I’ll be right back!” Kat nods, walking away with Jules to look for Ethan.

You straighten up when you see her walk towards you. You stand up on your feet, adjusting your hoodie. “I thought you hated parties!” She says as she approaches. “I do, but uh...I just wanted to say happy new year, I’m probably gonna go home, it’s really loud.” Maddy’s eyebrows raise as you ramble.

“Why? You said you were waiting for me, so wait.” You eyebrows furrowed. “What? I-I just wanted to-“ Before you can continue, she grabs your hand, pulling you towards the kitchen space.

When you enter a small space where no one is standing, you watches as she grabs a pair of cups. She pours brown liquor into both cups, and your eyes widen at how much she pours in the one she eventually hands to you.

“Loosen up!” She hits your cup with hers, and you don’t move, watching her guzzle hers with ease. “I don’t drink, Maddy.” She rolls her eyes, putting her hands on your shoulders. “If you drink it, I will let you dance with me tonight.” You stop your thoughts, wondering if Maddy was serious. She looked very serious.

Maddy knew about your crush on her, but you didn’t know she did. This worked to her advantage in a way, because you would do anything for her. This led you to sigh, tossing back the cup, and swallowing most of the drink. “YES! Alright, come on.” She grabs your hand once more, taking you to the living room where everyone had been dancing.

You couldn’t tell what song was on, but you’d begun to relax. Maddy started to dance on you, and you on her. Maybe all it took was a drink to loosen you up. After what seemed like 15 minutes of you both grinding on one another, she turned around to face you. “I have to pee, I’ll be right back, okay?” You nod, watching her go.

Your eyes follow her body as she sways away. You jump as you feel a pair of hands on your shoulder. “Can you guys fuck so you can stop being miserable?” You smirk at the voice as Jules lays her head on your shoulder.

“Step one? Run over Nate Jacobs with my Impala.” Jules smiles, turning you around into a hug. “That is a solid plan.” She mutters into your shoulder. “Happy new year, Jules.”

“Happy new year.” A small cough takes you guys out of the comfortable silence in this much quieter spot. “Are you guys-“ Kat motions between you, and you chuckle. “Oh, no. That’s-Jules chose Rue, right?” Jules’ eyes widen as she nods along.

“She dumped her and left her at the train station.” Kat says bluntly, and Jules sighs. “Oh? I thought you just disappeared. You can be really dramatic when you want to be.”

“Wow, thank you, Y/N.” After a few seconds of waiting, you’d seen Maddy hadn’t come back yet. “Hey, I’ll be back in a sec.” You softly pat Jules’ shoulder before walking over to the only bathroom you’d seen downstairs.

As you walked towards the narrow hall, your face scrunches as Nate Jacobs storms down the hallway, glare distant as he squeezes past you. You stop in your tracks, watching him walk towards where McKay stood, and back to the restroom.

A young man stood by the door, a blunt in his hand. “Hey, are you tryna use the bathroom?” You ask to which he nods. “Yeah, man.” You nod, standing on the opposite wall. “You know there’s like…three bathrooms upstairs, right?” The guy hums.

“I know, but the girl in the restroom is hot, and I kinda wanna kiss her now.” You chuckle. “Same. Y/N.” You hold your hand, and he shakes it. “Travis.”

“You mind if I cut?”

“Nah, man, do you.”

You step up to the door, knocking on the door. “Hold on, give me a second! Jesus.” The door opens, and Maddy seems taken aback as she looks between you and Travis. She sees your awkward smile, before dragging you in, and shutting the door behind you.

“God, I thought you were hot before…” Your eyes widen. “What?”

“Ignore me, I drank before I got here. You just look really good tonight.”

“Thanks?” Maddy pops herself up onto the sink counter, eyeing you as if she WANTED to seduce you. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Like what?”

“You keep looking at my lips like you wanna kiss me.” You hadn’t thought she noticed your eyes lingering. “I-I don’t, I think I’m already tipsy.” Maddy smirks, biting her lip as you nervously shift on your feet. “Are you like…in love with me or something?” You gulp nervously.

You wanted to retort, until a buzz from behind the bathtub tarp averts your attention. Opening it, you notice a blonde girl passed out in the tub. “Uh…I think someone passed out in here.” You look back at Maddy, who rolls her eyes as she jumps from the counter.

“Who cares, I wanna dance.” She opens the door. “Uh…” She grabs your hand, pulling you out with her.

She dragged you back down the hallway, and onto the dance floor, eyeing Nate as she walked by. You knew this was to make him jealous, which was sad, but at least you were helping Maddy? You had to think that way otherwise you’d throw up.

Eventually Maddy leaves you to talk to Cassie, who had a weirdly similar dress to the girl in the restroom. The raven haired girl dragged Cassie over, and the blonde smiles at the sight. “Hey, Y/N.” You give her a tight lipped smile and nod. “Hi, Cass.”

The rest of the night is fine, everyone cheers happy new year as the time dwindles. You stood near the small bar, glaring at the back on Nate’s head as he drank. He turns around, looking at you.

“What’s up, Y/N?” You give him a feigned smile, before looking down at your cup. “I thought you were uh…” He looks down at your drink. “Straight edge.” He chuckles. “If you mean abstinence? Yes.”

“Weren’t you like…addicted to Ibuprofen.” You shake your head. “No.” You’re thankfully saved when Fez approaches. You tune out their small conversation until Nate speaks again. “Last time I saw you, didn’t you want to kill me?” Nate smiles darkly. “It’s a new year, playboy.” The two we’re about to clink cups, when Fez bashes Nate in the head with a bottle of alcohol, before beating the shot out of him.

Cassie and Mckay were attempting to get him off, and failing for the most part. When Fez finally relents, you let a small chuckle. “Happy new years to me.” Everyone looks to check up on him, and you walk around to help. “We can take my car to the hospital.” You suggest. “It’s alright, Y/NN, I got it.” McKay responds to you.

You look over to Maddy. “I’ll call you later?” Maddy nods as they carry his body to Mckay’s car.

————

You’d forgotten to call before you knocked out, so when Maddy had called for the 24th time, you finally woke up.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I fell asleep, I’m sorry.” There was a silence on the other side of the line. “Maddy?”

“Can I come over?”

“Yeah, totally. My mom’s not here, so I could wait for you?”

“…Ok.” she hangs up the phone, leaving you confused. You carefully tread downstairs, waiting for a knock that eventually comes. You open the door to Maddy still in her clothes from the party. Her eyes are red, but her makeup isn’t smudged.

“I’m sorry I came so early in the morning.” She sounded genuine and little. “No, no, you’re fine, Maddy.” You let her in, and she walk towards your kitchen, sitting in a stool. “You want anything?” She nods. “Juice?” She nods again as you go through the fridge.

“Can I ask you something?” You hum. “Do you think I deserve better than Nate?” You abruptly stop, hitting your head on the fridge ceiling. You turn to Maddy with a look of disbelief.

“You can’t be serious, Maddy.”

“I’m not a good person.”

“No one is.”

“You are.” You place the jug of orange juice on the counter, staring at her as if she had had three heads. “You’re always good to me. I never return it.”

“I don’t want you to.”

“I love you, Y/N. Like I love Nate.”

“That wasn’t love it was blind devotion. He puts his hands on you.” She assumed you hadn’t heard what she said. “I love you, Y/N.” In your head, you assumed that she has first said it in some kind of friendly way, but now you were convinced it wasn’t.

“The last tender moment I had…was when…you remember when Nate kicked out me out of his car, and you took me to the diner and we just ate, and drank milkshakes. It felt cheesy, but I loved it.” You were now smiling as she stood. “I know you like me, but I like you too, love you too.” You can’t resist it as you move around the kitchen island, and slam your lips together.

Maddy backs away for breath. “About fuckin’ time.”

Summary: a good day turns worse

a/n: so every maddy story i’ve written is connected, they’re all here, probably going to start writing drabbles going back to s1

After Maddy found out the truth, Cassie didn’t seem like she wanted to actually apologize.

You and Kat were there for her the most, and she appreciated it. Sometimes you’d come over during the day at her job to keep Maddy company, and let her vent. “I think he likes you.” She mutters as she exits Theo’s bedroom.

“Probably because I got him ice cream.” You smirk. “Yeah, that was totally it.” She giggles, grabbing your hand as she pulls you into the living room. When you reach the large windows, she wraps your arms around her chest. She sighs.

“This fucking house is so…”

“You feel like…this is what your life should be like?” You ask, putting your head on her shoulder. She nods. “Yeah…”

“I’ll take you wherever.”

———

Later that night, Samantha had arrived when you were about to leave. “I’m sorry if I’m like…uh, I’m Y/N. Maddy’s…”

“She’s my girlfriend.” Maddy answers. “Oh, how nice! You’re really cute.” The woman says, making you chuckle nervously. “Thanks.”

She walks to her fridge, pulling out a bottle of wine. “Well, I want to go for a swim.” She looks at Maddy, then you. “You can join, if you want.” You look at Maddy who nods.

———

You kept swimming around as Maddy and Samantha talked, and the two stopped for a second as you jumped out.

“Ya know, compared to the people you just told me about…I have a feeling you’ve found that person.” Maddy stayed silent as she watched you walk over. You bent between the two, looking at the older woman.

“Is it okay if I use your restroom?” The woman smirks, looking back up at you. “You already were when I got here, so…”

“Yeah! I know-I was…I know, I was just…asking permission this time.” She nods at you. “Yeah, you don’t have to ask.” You nod, walking off as she chuckles with Maddy. “She’s…interesting.”

“Yeah, definitely not Nate.”

———

When you pulled up to Maddy’s house, you noticed a very familiar truck parked a few houses away from hers, but decided to ignore it.

Pulling into the driveway, you park the car, seeing that neither her mother’s or father’s car was there. “We got the house to ourselves.” Maddy smirks. “Wanna watch a movie?” You nod.

“Downstairs? Or in the…bedroom?” You wiggle your eyebrows, making her hit you in the chest. “Ow!”

“Downstairs, fuckin’ pervert!” You gasp, running your chest. “Ok! God!” She giggles, unbuckling her seatbelt. “Just let me take my stuff upstairs first. Straighten up.” You nod as she gets out first with you following.

———

As she waltzed upstairs, you pulled all tons of snacks out of her pantry and refrigerator.

Several juices, and even a leftover slice of New York cheesecake that you bought for Maddy the night before. Humming to yourself, you move over to the couch, plopping down as you turn on the TV.

You start a movie, and when it’s almost ten minutes in, you have a weird feeling.

Yes, Maddy’s room was a mess, but usually you cleaned it as she watched. There’s no way that was what she was doing. “Maddy?! Babe?!” No response.

Now you were worried. You reach in your boot, grabbing a small hunting knife just in case. Maybe you were beign dramatic, because maybe she just fell in the shower. Or maybe she’s taking forever as usually with makeup that she did not need to put on for a date night with you.

These thoughts reigned in your mind as you trailed up the stairs. When you reached the top of the hallway, you stopped in your tracks, eyes widened at the sight before you.

Nate Jacobs exiting her room.

You hadn’t noticed what was in his hand before you retracted the blade. When he closes the door behind you can hear a faint cry. He turns to face you, a sigh escaping his lips as a small glint of the light shining from the window behind gives you a glance at the revolver in his hand.

“I didn’t hurt her.” He mutters. Your jaw clenched as he approached you slowly. Your eyes widened at every pace, and the urge to stab him in his large neck was replaced by the feeling that you might die right here.

Instead of him shooting you dead like you expected, he ran down the stairs and out of the house. You stood there for a few seconds before letting go a deep breath that had developed in those few seconds.

Your first instinct was to run to Maddy’s room. Carefully opening the door, you can hear small cries as the rain patters on the window. “Maddy?” You called out softly. Her mascara stained face barely looked up and you swiftly fell to her side.

You wanted to talk and comfort her, but you didn’t. You stayed with her that night, holding her as her tears wet your shirt.

She ended up getting over it quite fast. This surprised you because Maddy could hold a grudge. Like that one time you ditched her and Cassie to ‘hang out’ with Jules at your place. She was pissed.

Now? She was way too calm about it, especially when Cassie and Nate would walk around school looking insane. That Monday morning, the two walked through the hallway, and Cassie looked…different. Not a good kind by the way.

You didn’t want to be harsh, but not only was she probably emulating Maddy, she just was doing it in a sluttier fashion. “Well she sure does looks the part.” Maddy mused, making you and Kat snicker.

Turning towards her, you kiss her on the lips. “Hey, I’ll see you later, ok?” She nods, watching you walk off.

the play pt. 2 - maddy perez

image

Summary: cassie gets what she deserves

a/n: thank you all for still supporting my other fics, i got in a small accident a while ago, so even when i wanted to start this, i was VERY out of it, but now i’m good, anyways i hope y’all like this

Cassie waltzed up the stairs of the stage, giving a slow clap of applause. “Cassie, you’re being embarrassing!” You yell. The blonde looks back at you, pointing at you sternly. “Shut the fuck up, Y/N!” She calls out Lexi, and you seemed to get worried.

Suze hops on stage, attempting to diffuse the situation. As Cassie continues to speak, the audience boos her. “Well if that makes me a villain, then so fucking be it. I can play the fucking villain.” By this point, you sat back down and could feel Maddy’s growing frustration.

You squeezed her hand in solidarity, and she smiled at the contact. “Lexi, is this the part of the play of the play where I steal Jake from Marta?” That’s where she slips up.

TWO DAYS AGO

“So…are you gonna put that in? If you embarrassed Cassie like that, I’d give you my soul.” Lexi laughs on the other side of the line. “No, she’d hate my guts more than ever after this.”

“Wait, Hallie steals Marta’s boyfriend?” Cassie groans to herself, turning towards the audience member that spoke.

“I don't know how many times I have to say this.” She groans. “They were not fucking together! Marta was literally fucking Y/CN the entire time!”

“How is that any of ‘Hallie’s’ business?!” You yell, getting more attention on you and Maddy sitting.  “Yeah.” Maddy speaks up.  “Not only was Hallie out of line, but she was fucking him the entire time Marta was talking about getting back together with him.” Your head swiftly looks over to Maddy with your eyebrows furrowed.

If Cassie wasn’t so adamant on making herself look like a fool, she would’ve laughed at your reaction. “No... Why?

“Because Hallie is a two-faced cunt." Maddy yells, riling the crowd up. “I'm not a cunt! You're the cunt!" The audience begins exclaiming as it becomes much more heated. “You're the fucking cunt, bitch!”

“Maddy! Jesus, calm down, calm down.” You can feel the blood rushing through her face, and you grab her hand. “Hey, calm down, she’s fucking mental. She’s just trying to get a rise out of you.” When Maddy turns towards you, it’s almost like she’s blowing out steam from her nose.

“She knows damn well she doesn’t want to do that.” You nod, rubbing her back softly as you share a nervous look with Kat. “This is hell.” She whispers, making you grunt. “No shit.”

When you look back to the stage, it seems Cassie is tackling the actress playing her character as she was on the carousel horse from that night. She starts fighting the girl as carousel music plays, and Maddy has had enough. “Oh, this bitch needs to be put down.” Maddy slips off her heels, quickly running to the stage before you could stop her. You, Kat, and BB left your row, following her up the stairs.

“Maddy, Maddy, Maddy! Wait!” You and Kat try to hold. “Maddy, beat her ass!”

Maddy had finally caught up to Cassie, turning her around and slapping her hard enough for everyone to hear. “Oooh.” You subtly chuckle as your girlfriend chases Cassie through the back and out into the hallway.

“Y/N!” You snap back to what you were meant to do, and run after them. They run down the hallway, Maddy smashing Cassie face first into the brick wall, and you could hear a large thud. “Maddy, no!”

“Beat her fuckin' ass, Maddy! She fuckin' deserves that shit! She fucked your boyfriend!” BB yells throughout the hallway as you all run through the corridor.

------

In the girl’s bathroom, everyone but you and BB were sat on the counter. You were looking between the girls at each end when a vape pen came into your view. “You want some?” You shake your head no. “Nah, I’m good. Thank you though.” The girl beside you hums, going back to leaning on the wall.

“Do you know what's funny?” Cassie speaks up with a light scoff to herself. “Nate broke up with me before I even went on that stage.” She admits, her eyes twitching as she thinks hard. “Don't worry. This is just the beginning.” Maddy says, getting off the counter, leaving the bathroom.

You linger on the wall as the girls walk out, but Kat stops. “Are you coming?” You nod. “Yeah, I just need a second. Uh...do you need my keys?” The taller girl nods, and you hand her your keys, prompting her to walk out.

You take a deep sigh as Cassie looks over to you. “Why are you staying?” You blink, turning to her.

Your jaw clenches. “Ya know, in fourth grade...we were friends, and you kind of knew Maddy. We’ve known each other fro a long time...You haven’t grown at all. Have you ever considered that maybe...just maybe...you and Lexi had the same father, who left you both? Have you considered...maybe Maddy is so mad, not just because you betrayed her trust, but you know what her did to her. I was there for her, Cass. Have you ever really cared about anyone other than yourself? You push away everyone’s feelings to benefit you, and when someone doesn’t fit your perfect world, you resent, and blame, and lie. None of us are the villain, you were right, you don’t have to play a villain, because you already are. I hope you see it soon, he’s a lot more twisted. He’s still an abuser. Bye, Cassie, I hope it was worth it, ruining everything for a man who does not love you.”

You leave her with tears slowly trailing down her face, as you integrate into the hallway. When you make it out to the parking lot, everyone is sitting in your car, Maddy in the passengers seat. You open the door, and sit in the front, placing your seatbelt on.

“Soooo, what now?” Kat asks. “Y’all are going home, and we-”

“Oh, nah, fuck that! I’m tryna get some food!”

You grab Maddy’s hand, tenderly kissing it, making her blush and bit her lip slightly. “I think Madeline wants to blow off some steam.” You bit you lip, licking them as you smile at the two in the back. “Ew, nevermind, take me home.” You laugh loud, putting the car in gear as you pull out of the parking lot.

------

When you’d dropped them both off, you pull up to your house. You got to your room, and ran a bath in the bathroom that connected to your room. Maddy sat on your bed, still cradling her foot. She’s now half naked, and so were you. You came beside her, kneeling before her on the floor.

“Bubble bath, foot message, Drag Race?” Maddy smiles, nodding as you grab her hand, softly kissing it. “If I have no one I’ve really known, I’m glad I still have you.” You smile at her as she leans down, giving you a kiss. “I don’t deserve you.” She mutters across your lips.

“Stop lying, and get in this bath.”

Maddy yelps as you lift her off of the bed, and carry her into the bathroom.
