Daenerys had become much quieter in the few days leading up to when the Khal was to arrive, and although she was nervous and didn’t want to marry the Khal, she felt like doing it so that the woman she’d grown to care for would be free of her mental torment.
She didn’t blame Carra despite the woman apologizing every chance she could find. She spent every waking moment with her, even now. Carra found her in the dressing room as the slave women rushed. Daenerys watched the bay of Pentos, and she was in silent thought.
She didn’t flinch at Carra’s touch but only looked at her. “What are you thinking?” Other than the obvious, Carra couldn’t read the girl. Daenerys stayed silent with her thoughts, and the taller woman leaned back. “Daenerys!” The girl wakes from her daze, and Carra stands straight as Viserys excitedly walks in.
“Daenerys!” Carra watches as the girl silently walks into the room and walks behind her. “There’s our bride-to-be.” The woman was almost disgusted at how ecstatic the prince seemed. He holds out a lilac gown for his sister. “Look, a gift from Illyrio.” The girl approaches him slowly.
“Touch it.” He smiles. “Go on, feel the fabric.” His gaze catches Carra’s on his sister, but he ignores it. “Isn’t he a gracious host?” Daenerys looks up at him. “We’ve been his guests for over a year, and he has never asked us for anything.”
“Illyrio’s no fool. He knows I won’t forget my friends when I come to my throne.” He explains. He hands the dress to a slave. “You still slouch.” He moves her hair behind her shoulders and notices Carra looking down at the floor from further away. He opens her dress and begins to pull it off her shoulders. “Let them see. You have a woman’s body now.” He tosses it on the floor and stares at her.
“Viserys.” He smirks, looking away from his sister’s body and over at Carra.”May I have a word?” She asks. Daenerys ducks her head, and her brother puts on a smile. “Yes. I’ll be out.” He and Carra stare for a few seconds, and she knows he won’t back down until she leaves, so she does reluctantly.
After a minute, Viserys walks out with a smile and finds Carra with her hands on her belt. “Don’t tell me you’ve become soft and wish to change plans?” She looks over at him with a glare. “When you came here, Carra, I thought the Gods had sent an angel to save us. Give us back the life we deserve. But I never believed you to be a sap.”
“She is a child, my Prince.”
“I don’t care. Daenerys is my way to my throne. That child is our way to glory. Do you wish to murder the man who took our families from us?” She nods. “This is the way. She will please him, and he will give us what we need and more. I will let you drive your sword through the fat man’s heart.” She didn’t argue and looked up at him.
“Now, ease up. It is almost time.”
After Daenerys dresses, they stand at the front, waiting for the Khal. Carra stood off to the side, wanting to watch. “Where is he?” Viserys mumbles. “The Dothraki are not known for their punctuality.” Illyrio answers. It doesn’t take long for the men to arrive on horseback, and Carra looks on.
She spots the Khal ahead of the others, and the Magister goes to greet him in Dothraki tongue. “May I present to you, my honored guests? Viserys of House Targaryen, the third of his name, the rightful king of the Andals and the First Men, and his sister, Daenerys of House Targaryen.” Daenerys moves forward, but Viserys grabs her arm and begins to whisper in her ear.
Carra moves forward beside Daenerys as she watches the Khal. “Come forward, my dear.” Daenerys nervously walks toward the Magister. She reaches the bottom of the steps, and Carra feels Viserys look over at her in confusion.
After a few seconds, Drogo turns around and rides off. Viserys runs down the steps to the Magister. “Where is he going?!” He asks with worry. “The ceremony is over.”
“But he didn’t say anything. Did he like her?”
“Trust me, Your Grace, if he didn’t like her, we’d know.” Viserys watches after them and hums before walking back up the steps. “Come.” He says as he looks at Carra. Daenerys and the Magister trail behind them.
“How well do you know the Khal, Carra?”
“We’ve done battle. I have saved his life, and he has mine. I have the scars to prove it.” Viserys chuckles. “You have plenty of those. But, tell me, will he fail me?”
“He is a man of his word, Your Grace. If anyone fails him, I hope it wouldn’t be you.” Viserys raises an eyebrow and raises his hand, but Carra catches it. “I’m only advising you. You’d be a fool not to repay him.”
“When I rule, you will be highly rewarded.” He smiles darkly and she removes his hand from her grasp. He walks away, and the Magister follows after him, but Daenerys trails behind. Carra looks down at her, and the shorter woman gives her a small smile before walking after the men.

“What is this Khal Drogo like?” Viserys inquires.
“The Dothraki may be peculiar people, but he is a simple man. He will like Daenerys.” Carra seemed to get more nervous as Daenerys’ betrothal to the man approached its head. He wasn’t a gentleman, a fact she knew. But it wasn’t her place because Daenerys would be given to him. Viserys and Carra would take his armies to King’s Landing in exchange for her hand.
The two could laugh the feast before Robert Baratheon’s head when this was all over. She dreamt of such a sight.
“Good.”
Their wedding wasn’t for several moons, and Carra had stayed for four. She and Daenerys had begun to get closer. In the mornings, the princess hoped to wake up and hear the pattering of Carra’s boots as she ran around the compound several times.
The girl wouldn’t admit it, but she enjoyed watching her. She sweats profusely, and her muscles glistened in the sunlight. She was freakishly tall, and her stark black hair with silver streaks became matted when she did her morning run. And when she finishes, the three of them eat breakfast, and the two women share glances and smiles.
“Carra, tell me of your escapades through Sorthoryos. The Magister said that is how you discovered Blackfyre.” Carra nods. “Yes. I had an encounter with the Brindled Men. I escaped with my life, but they were fewer men and more grotesque creatures. I found the sword buried there. Why and how? I have no idea. But it was there, and it was intact. I did gain a few scars, but nothing debilitating.” Now he was curious.
“Could you show me?” Carra glances at the siblings nervously before simply pulling up her shirt. Daenerys eyes widen as her eyes land on the large gash that trailed close to Carra’s heart to the right of her abdomen. “Goodness.”
“Yeah, it is the main reason I only wear shirts.” Carra chuckles, pulling down her shirt. “There’s one on my hand, but that’s healed. I still can’t feel this finger.” She wiggles her pinky finger. “I have a few burns, don’t ask how. Very nasty explanation.”
“Oh, I won’t, I promise.” Viserys chuckles. Carra looks over at Daenerys with a smile. “How are you still alive?” The girl asks.
“Luck.”
Later in the day, Viserys had gone off with the Magister, and Carra had spent her time reading Daenerys’ room. She’d spent a lot of time in there recently.
“How many times have you read that since you came here?” It was one of the only possessions Carra brought along with her. “I have no idea.” She mutters, pretending to read while staring at the princess from the corner of her eye. “You’ve never told me what it was about.”
“It’s a story of love. “The Face of Beauty” is not in the common tongue, though.” Daenerys hums, sitting up. “Read it to me.” Carra looks away and over to her.
“Is that an order?” She smirks. Daenerys immediately shakes her head, making the older woman chuckle. “I was teasing. Of course, I’ll read it to you.”
She turns to her favorite page.
“Borros stood at the head of the table, watching his wife. They stared at one another, and despite her scar, he still loved her. She was different now, no longer his delicate flower, but he didn’t love Lyana any less. He loved her more. She was different, but she was still his.” Carra continued, and Daenerys stared with her hand supporting her head.
Over and over, Carra repeated the phrase “his delicate flower,” and it made the girl wonder if this book was where Carra had gotten it from.
She was so deep in her thoughts that she almost hadn’t noticed when Carra closed the book. “That’s all for today.” She smirks, placing it beside her. “Do you want to get out? I could take you on horseback, perhaps?” The young princess had never smiled wider in her life. “Yes.”
“No,” Viserys says.
“You know I will protect her, Viserys.”
“I do, but you have no idea how many people have attempted to take our lives since we were born, Ser Carra.” Carra knew she’d gone through the source of these men just to find the siblings. “I understand, I-”
“Brother.” The two look over at Daenerys. “I trust her. I just wanted to get out.” Viserys glares at her, and Carra frowns but steps in front of her. He focuses back on Carra, his gaze softening. “If she comes back with even a scratch-”
“You will have my head. I’m sure.” She smiles and grabs the younger girl’s hand. The duo exit, and Carra covers the blonde with a blanket as they ride towards the small beach down the hill.
She stopped the horse and hopped down before pulling Daenerys down. The shorter girl took in a deep breath of the salty air, and Carra sat on the damp sand. “Do you ever wonder what is beyond the Narrow Sea?” Daenerys asks.
“Not really.” She receives in response. “Well, I think there's more society. We only know the seven kingdoms, but what if there are more beyond the wall or land we have not yet discovered?” Carra shrugs.
“I think it best if they remain undetected. The royals will wish to conquer it. Imagine the amount of suffering that could’ve been prevented if Aegon had not wished to conquer everything.” Daenerys looks over at her and watches her expression. “Conquests and rebellions only bring pain.” She thought back to her family. She’d failed to mention the young sisters that she hid away with another family to escape freely.
Robert’s Rebellion was good for the Baratheons, Starks, and Lannisters. Celene Tiren was no enemy; now her daughter suffered because people believed she was. “Do you truly wish not to rule if my brother takes back King’s Landing?” Her question was presented in a way that almost made Carra sad.
She was so quiet, soft, and innocent.
It was something Carra admired. “I would not. I was being serious when I admitted I’d rather just retire to a beach.”
“Well, you can’t just leave me,” Daenerys says playfully. “You will not be alone because you will be a queen.” Daenerys’ smile falters, and she looks away from Carra. “I do not wish to be a queen, Carra.” Carra looks at the sand with guilt.
“I’m sorry, Daenerys.”
“What for?” Carra looks at her with sad eyes. “I didn’t know you well when I asked Viserys to give you away but know that I have; I will never forgive myself.” She watches as the shorter woman walks back to her and sits down beside her. Daenerys grabs her hands softly.
“It is what needs to be done.” The brunette shakes her head. “No, we could find another way. Another army.”
“No one would negotiate with us. You know that. And this marriage won’t last forever, I hope.” Carra scoffs. “You know if Viserys could milk the relationship with the Dothraki until the utter was dry, he would,” Daenerys smirks as they look into each other’s eyes.
There had been a sort of unspoken thing between them that Viserys noticed but would never allow. Carra saw the way he treated his sister, and when she tried to calm him down, he would give her a silent threat that kept her silent. She had no reason to be afraid.
She was taller and stronger. These were traits she got from her father.
But he seemed like a man with a temper. If she questioned him or got out of line, she was sure he’d chop one of her limbs off. She was also worried for Daenerys because he knew they liked each other. It was a definite weakness. “I’m sorry, I just worry for you.”
“That’s sweet, but I think I can handle myself.” Carra hums, knowing that might not be true. And unfortunately, the days go by faster. Eventually, it becomes very few days before the Khal and Daenerys are to be married, and Carra is readying herself to travel. The first thing she did when she woke was run a bath before the maidens could attend to it for her.
Daenerys had woken up early as the sun rose. It was almost as though her body had led her to Carra downstairs, and her eyes raked over Carra’s body. Her back had more scars, and her muscles shifted as she wiped herself with soap. “I didn’t think you a spectator, Daenerys.” The girl gulps as Carra turns around with a genuine smirk.
She could see the scar on her abdomen more clearly and saw that it ran further down to her hip bone. “Would you like to take a bath with me?” The blonde’s breath hitches, and she tries to avert her gaze. “No. I-I have the faintest idea as to why I came here.” She lets out nervously.
“It’s alright. I’m sure I won’t be the last naked woman you see.” Daenerys doesn’t move, and Carra chuckles as she turns back around.
Hiiiii just dropping by to say I absolutely adore the "Regal Ties". 🤍

the hood - kate bishop

a/n: this another fic adapted from my script scraps, and i haven’t added this one to a formal project, so i might as well use it! also kate is a little more of a seasoned fighter here. (written in third person)
Pairing: Kate Bishop x Super Soldier!Reader
Y/N quietly stalks out of the hotel, looking across the street to see if anyone is coming as they search for their motorcycle. They walk forward, their black boots pounding on the concrete, when…
WHIP!
Their eyes widen as they feel an arrow lodged into their shoulder. Their breath begins to frantically pick up, and they look around at the buildings before them.
They can feel a laser circling their face, and they sneer, looking straight ahead.
WHIP!
Before another arrow can hit them, they catch it, breaking it in half. They stare at the assailant but jump when an arrow breaks a window right next to their head.
Grunting, they press the button on their palm, their shield protecting her as she runs, rolling down next to a car. They open their palm and the shield disappears.
They sigh, grabbing their backpack.
Across the street, the assailant ziplines from the roof.
He runs across the street, and into the hotel’s unnecessarily large parking lot. Meanwhile, Y/N pulls out a machine pistol from the backpack and takes out a silencer, screwing it on top of the pistol.
They can hear the clanging off the roofs of several cars, telling her that the assailant is running atop them. Frowning more, they ready the gun, scooting the front on the right side.
They hold up the pistol, and the man shifts on the roof of a car two rows away, and they’re ready as well. Y/N is slower than him, shooting after they use their crossbow, which inserts a beeping bow into the car directly next to Y/N.
BOOM!
Their eyes widen as they runs fast, barely missing the explosion, which knocks them into the bumper of the car in front of them, making a large nasty dent in it.
The explosion catches Kate’s attention as she plays Candy Crush on her phone. She rolls her eyes, turning off the game.
She begins to unzip her hoodie, before pulling it off, revealing his costume. She places on a monocle, the gadget from Clint, working well.
She moves out of her car, grabbing her gear from his trunk. She looks around at the mostly empty street, before running into an alley. Pointing her grappler at the top of the building, she pulls the trigger.
Y/N comes to after a few seconds, the arrow in their shoulder now gone. She groans, noticing it not far away, meaning the impact caused it to fly out of her shoulder. The alarm of the car behind them is ringing as they stands, their bag miraculously still strapped on.
They can hear heavy feet pound onto the ground, the man stalking towards her. Their eyes widen in fear, they know him.
They stands up quickly and grabs her pistol as they take off fast, the man not far behind.
Above them is Kate who brings her arm to his hip, attaching the grappler to it, before kneeling. He squints as his helmet is now up, and he has a scope on his left eye.
It zooms in as it falls on the man in the hood.
“Yelena, get me an ID, please.”
In a computer lab, Yelena sits, eating an ice cream sandwich as she clicks on the keys of her large computer. The image from Kate’s scope pops up, and Yelena finishes her code with a click of the enter button.
This brings up footage from surrounding cameras.
“I can see him, but his face is covered, I need you to get the hood off, and I’ll get him.” Kate sighs.
Below her, Y/N continues to run but the man easily shoots a bolt into their calf, making them tumble forward onto their face.
“Fuck!”
They closes their left fist, and her shield pops out of the mechanism on her arm. The man speeds up, pulling a machete from the side of his pants. He holds it up, swinging it down hard enough to make a large CLANG! on Y/N’s shield.
“Alright, I’m going in.” Kate mutters. She pulls out her bow as Y/N pushes the man back hard. She stands up, holding her injured right leg on its toes to alleviate the pain.
They hold out their shield as he chuckles, swinging it several times which they blocks. As they block, they push a swing away, immediately following with a punch.
CRACK!
Even behind the hood, they can see the blood coming from his mouth. They use the distraction to yank the bolt from their leg, making them hiss.
THUNK!
The sound of an arrow going into a car beside them distracts Y/N, and they don’t see Kate who jumps from the roof of another one, kicking the man back into the car. The woman kips up, looking over at Y/N. “God, that was awesome.” She mutters.
“It’s you.” The soldier mutters. Kate chuckles, walking over to the taller man, who quickly recovers, swiping her feet from under her. The man straddles her, going to punch her, but Y/N pulls her shield off of the magnet and tosses it at his head.
It roughly hits off the back of his neck, bouncing back onto Y/N’s magnet, knocking him out. He slumps over Kate, who pushes him off. Turning him on his front, she lifts the man’s neck, which already is showing a nasty bruise.
She rips off the hood, focusing her eye on the man’s face.
“All righty, Katey. I got a face, just give me a sec.” Kate rolls her eyes, sighing annoyedly. “Stop calling me Katey, please.”
“I thought you liked my nicknames.” Yelena smiles, finding a match for Hugh Kendrick. She clicks on the file.
“Got a match. Hugh Kendrick. Father was Gunter Kendrick, former HYDRA. He’s a trust fund kid, used to play Lacrosse, and went to Harvard. An injury leads him to drop out. He’s depressed. The boy joins his father. Now he’s a uh…cleaner of sorts, ties their loose ends.”
Kate gulps, looking over at Y/N.
“I’m assuming they’re one of them?” The blonde hums over the line.
“Their father and his father were essential to the growth of the Black Cross subdivision. Leopold, their grandfather. His experiments and torture were infamous. One of his pupils was the head of Unit 731 during World War Two.” Kate winces, standing up.
“Jesus Christ. Thanks, Yelena. I’ll call when we get back to base.” She looks around before standing and holding out a hand to Y/N. They simply stare at it.
“I know you don’t need help, but you can’t go anywhere on your own. Black Cross is going to send hundreds more foot soldiers after you. He isn’t the only one.” Y/N scoffs, taking her hand, and Kate lifts them up. “Trust me, I know.”
They start limping away, and Kate follows after them. “Let me take you back to base. It's off the grid. I can get someone to patch you up, and they won’t find us.” Y/N reaches into their pants pocket, wincing as they feels their key lodged in their thigh. There is a squishy sound when they pulls it out, and Kate winces at the sight of blood.
She tosses it to him, and he catches it, thankful she has on gloves. Y/N swallows, their eyes slightly rolling back from tiredness as they point to a motorcycle.
“Hey, Yelena, are you still on?” The woman over the phone hums a yes.
“Call Clint, tell him to come and get my car, there’s a tag on it.”
“Will do.”
She walks over to Y/N. She grabs one of the helmets off the back, shutting down the visor of her helmet, and hands them the other. She sits on the seat, attempting to jam it into the keyhole, but Y/N’s chunks stop it from turning.
She groans, pulling it out and cleaning it off with her jacket before placing it in and turning it. The motorcycle starts up, and Y/N sits behind her, wrapping their arms around her waist.
“You awake back there?” Kate quips, despite feeling their breathing her neck. She doesn’t receive a response, and sighs before pulling out of the parking lot.

Daenerys never liked the life she came to live. She and Viserys were in exile. He spoke of taking back his rightful kingdom, and it was hard to hear him speak of her as nothing but a pawn. But one day, she felt a shift. It was when the Magister had introduced Viserys to a woman. Daenerys wasn't invited to listen to their conversation, but she was there, and she remembered her name.
Calla Blackfyre, second of her name.
She'd never seen Viserys so excited to hear the name. "She is one of us, Daenerys.." Daenerys didn't know much about the Blackfyres and their relation to the Targaryens except that they were said to have died decades ago.
"I know you seem skeptical of my origins, but my mother had me and my brother with Maelys Blackfyre before his death in the Stepstones."
"And who is your brother?"
"Daemon Blackfyre, fourth of his name. But he is no longer with us." Viserys nods, noting that yet again the male Blackfyre line ceases to exist.
"And why do you wish to fight for me, Calla?" Her eyes drift to Daenerys, who silently watches, and back to Viserys. "I wish to put Robert Baratheon's head on a spike." The man is so shocked by the answer that he smiles wildly, bursting out a laugh. He roughly pats her shoulder. "Great minds think alike. But I must inquire," Calla nods, watching his eyes drift to the sword.
He looks back up quickly and smiles wider. "Why do you hold such a grudge?"
"King Robert wishes to wipe us all out. I begged my mother as a child to let us have her name, but she refused. Despite my kinfolk, Daemon I, being a bastard, he believes we carry the spirit of the Dragon through our veins. My brother and I are bastards ourselves." Viserys hums.
"I know of a man with 100,000 men. An army that would crush the Baratheons and the Lannisters."
"Is that so?" Carra nods. "Khal Drogo, owes me."
"What will he bargain for?" The prince was desperate to make it back to King's Landing, and he will do anything to get there. No matter how desperate the way may be. Carra's eyes drift to Daenerys once more. "A wife." Viserys follows her gaze and looks back at Carra.
"Can I trust you?"
Not much more needed to be said when her leather-gloved hand shook his. Daenerys didn't appreciate being sold off in front of her, but it would take quite some time for this marriage to be arranged.
In the coming moons, Daenerys watched Carra. At night she'd look at the Narrow Sea, or simply sit anywhere and stare at the setting sun. One night, she became curious and went outside after her. "What is so compelling about the sunset that you wish to see it every night?" Carra didn't jump at the princess's soft tone, but smiled lightly and turns to look at her.
"When I was young, I lived in Winterfell. It's where my mother was born. She was visiting my grandmother when she met my father. Up until my 15th name day, I'd never seen the sun. It was either gloomy and wet, or snowy and wet." Daenerys chuckles, walking over. Carra scoots over so she can sit on the bench.
"I watch the sunset now because it brings me peace. Before I was told my birthright, I was a blacksmith in my younger years. That sounds insane, right? Six-year-old forges weapons fit for the Stark boys." She scoffs, looking back out to the sea. "Starks. If I were born Carra Tiren as I wished, my life would've been so simple."
"You don't know that."
"Oh, I do." She looks back over at her. "But you will never know. You are a Targaryen."
"And yet, you wield our weapon. Doesn't that make you a Targaryen, too? By default." She smiles, and Carra smiles back. "Blackfyre was wielded by Aegon the Conqueror and has been passed down for 200 years. It was hidden until my brother died at the hands of the King himself." The girl's hand drifts to Carra's knee.
"I'm sorry." Carra covers her hand with her own. "Don't be." She retracts it and leans back. "That oaf is paranoid. So convinced that even the bastard kin of a bastard would ever wish to rule."
"But I heard it was your birthright." Carra chuckles, nodding. "The Blackfyre Pretenders. Jaehaerys made sure that never continued." She sighs. "But enough politics. You asked me about my interest in the sunset?" She receives a nod in response.
"Well, when we moved to King's Landing, Daemon would climb onto the highest of buildings and watch it. We were there for my uncle, and there was nothing for us in Winterfell. We'd sneak into the brothels as we became grown."
"Brothels?" Daenerys smirks.
"We only watched. Daemon found a strange interest in larger women with humongous breasts." The girl beside her laughs. "My Gods, they were, just-" She chuckles, and the girl watches as Carra gains her mental image. "You'd be amazed."
"Would I?"
"Yeah." She pauses, a thought on her tongue. "God, I was knighted under my mother's name. Ser Carra Tiren."
"I thought you didn't use her name."
"We did, for a while. It was because of where we were. As I said, the oaf is quite paranoid. We were exposed as Maelys' children. My brother was no fighter, simply a butcher, and my mother helped my uncle with his tavern. They were executed, and I watched in disguise. "Anyone with the blood of a Targaryen, whether thick or thin, will die before me." He said. Takes the throne, and kills the ones who have the right to be on it. Spoken like a true king, a true usurper." The girl silently watches as Carra's eyes fall to the ground.
"Your family did not deserve to be executed, and it is not your fault." Carra clenches her jaw.
"He thought we would challenge. How? My brother was not fit to be king. He was no warrior—a skinny boy with bad eyes, and frail hands. I was taller and stronger, he was nothing but a sweet man. How could he look at him and think he'd even want to be on a throne? It should've been me."
"Carra-"
"I-When this is all over, and Viserys drives a sword through Robert's heart, I will live on a beach. Daemon wished to live on a beach."
"Maybe I could come with you." Carra scoffs playfully, and she looks at Daenerys. "You? The delicate flower? You'd leave your brother to be on your own?" The girl wanted to be offended, but Carra's smile was making it hard to.
"Yes! I am my person." Carra nods with a smirk. "Yeah, sure. But, I must warn you, princess, I am boring." Daenerys scoffs. "After all you've just told me, you think yourself boring spilling out your life story?" Carra shrugs.
"My brother had fun. He was handsome enough, so the young girls would fawn over him. He had friends and went to parties in the woods. I sat at home, and read. No boys liked me, although that never mattered much to me. Aside from my knighthood, I was pretty quiet, I had one friend."
"Well, tell me about them." Carra chuckles. "Her name was Alise. She was so smart, so cunning. We met when I first moved to King's Landing. I was ten, Daemon was twelve. One day a lord came and asked for me and my boss, Geron, to forge a sword fit for a warrior. For a fortnight we worked. He paid extra, and on breaks, while he spoke to Geron, Alise, and I played. We were friends until my family's execution. We saw each other one last time before I fled."
Although Carra didn't believe Daenerys to be completely idiotic, she just didn't want the princess to know of her dalliances. "I hear she is married to some pig in Casterly Rock." She turns toward Daenerys fully. "Why did you come out here? You should be asleep."
The blonde stares into Carra's brown eyes. "I don't know. I was curious as to why you spend your nights out here."
"Well, I'm glad. I've never told a stranger my life story." The girl smiles, holding Carra's hand in hers. "You are no longer a stranger, Carra. You are a friend."
"I don't have many of those."

a/n: i’m back! finally a free weekend, and i’m posting now. i’ve also finished ease into it, and i’ll post that and the new regal ties chapter soon🤦🏽♀️
i ii iii iv
“So…you’re blind?” The girl asks softly, eyes curious as she analyzes your cloudy eyes and tired face. “It’s temporary. I had a brother who could do it too, but his didn’t react the way mine does. It burns the inside of my eye.”
Wanda frowns, feeling guilty about how she led you to use it twice. “I’m sorry.” You smirk. “Don’t be. It happens more often than you think. When I get angry, it bursts. I sometimes pass out.” You chuckle. “That’s horrible.”
“It’s more of a blessing than a curse, keeps people from underestimating me.”
<>
Right now, you were furious.
Wanda begs for you to calm down as you pace the room. “They’ve denied my request twice! How the hell am I supposed to keep up with payments in a reduced teacher’s salary?! No, Jane. I can’t-Ten thousand?! Fucking great.” You look over to Wanda, sighing.
“I’ll call you back.” You hang up the phone, sighing. “That was-That was a friend. She said the owner of a private hospital we took you to for maybe two months because they were doing renovations here, they’re trying to charge with interest, which is fucking illegal! I think.” Wanda frowns as tears fall from your eyes, a faint blue hue in them.
“Just calm down.”
“How?! They’re trying to swindle us out of money!” She curled her fingers, and you blinked hard. Shaking your head, you sigh. “I’m sorry. I don’t know why I was so mad.” You didn’t seem to notice her tendrils calming your brain as you sat in a huff.
The action felt natural. It reminded her of WandaVision.
Yes, despite her love for you, she chose Vision. But she made a way. Of course, since Thanos ripped your wings and killed you right in front of her, it was jarring. Reanimating you was definitely regretful.
But the way she could control you felt good, and it seemed like this Wanda did that too. It wasn’t of her own mind to ease yours. “Um…” You couldn’t think, your last few seconds of thought forgotten. “How are you today?” You smile.
“Fine.”
“That’s good.”
“How’s Tommy?”
“I wish I knew.”
“Is he mad at me?” Yes. She already knew the answer, but you became furious again. You were angry that the boy had feelings you couldn’t handle.
He wasn’t there when you were holding Wanda’s bloody body in you arms as you flew away. He didn’t feel your pain. “I don’t know.”
<>
You two didn’t have many arguments, but it was obvious how upset you’d become about Wanda going off by herself. “You can’t just leave us, and make decisions that could get us all hurt!”
“We got the job done.”
“You got shot!”
“You’re the one that wanted to do this mission, Y/N!”
“I get that. And that…” She watches you point directly to her bullet wound. “Is exactly why I regret it!” She groans loudly, not noticing her red tendrils flowing from her fingers,
“JUST STOP!” The outburst caused you to stumble, her magic filling the room. You shook your head, sniffling. Frowning in confusion, you watched your girlfriend who was just as confused and concerned.
“Oh.” You rub your eyes, and stand up straight. “I’m sorry. What were you saying? I don’t-“ She frowns. “What?”
“What were you saying?” Wanda frowned as she saw the tendrils disappear from your eyes. “Nothing. We were talking about relaxing all day, right?” You look around, just as confused. “Yeah. I guess. I don’t remember.”
<>
So it seemed this Wanda was better at manipulation that she was. She was shocked when she got you to calm a few days ago. It had been so effortless.
It’s not like she hadn’t done it in the hex, but it was harder to maintain hundreds of minds at a time, and that was why she’d shut some off to release the weight. Trying to hold Vision was hard enough.
Then she searched this mind for clues of what else you couldn’t remember. That argument she dreamed of. The fact that she left you for Vision was something she erased too. As memories came back, small ones surrounded that big memory.
Erasing your memory when you fought seemed like an addiction for this Wanda. “Wanda.” She was taken out her thoughts by your voice. “They said you can leave if you want, or get extra treatment. I mean they said you were fine, so-” You scratched the back of your neck as you kept your eye on the boys running around the hallway.
“Guys! Slow down, thank you.” They slow down as you look back at your wife. “Yeah, I’ll be fine going home, I can walk now.” She notices your glare as your ear moved towards the sound of your sons running around.
“Hey.” She grabs your hand. “Focus on me.” You take a deep breath, and look over at her. “I’m sorry.” She smiles, cupping your cheeks. “It’s okay.”
<>
The ride back was quiet. Wanda watches everything as you pass through the streets. It was about an hour into the ride, and although you’d let the twins bring their tablets, they fell asleep halfway through.
“The house is little different, a little less decoration. I know you like that stuff, but I haven’t had time.” She looks over at you as you place your foot on the brake at a light. “That’s fine, I don’t really-”
“The house is clean though, I swear. Like...I know I was messy when we moved there, but-”
“Y/N.” You stop breathing hard, and look over at her for a second before continuing to drive. “I’m sorry.” She chuckles.
“You have to stop apologizing.” She spares a glance at the boys. “Obviously, you’ve done a great job. I could care less about decorations.” You look at her with a smile, before turning back to the road.
She seemed different, more in her head. She also seemed calmer. Maybe it was the years in solitude, you’d never know.
<>
You pulled up to the house, and your wife hadn’t lasted too long before falling asleep as well. You parked the car, nervously looking around your car to make sure everything is okay before you wake everyone up.
You were right about no decoration, which Wanda didn’t mind. The house was real like it was on the other Earth and when she created it in her head. When you both walked upstairs to put them down, the room looked the same.
The boys, particularly Billy, said goodnight to their mom. Tommy did say goodnight, but tried to avoid her kiss. Instead of letting him go, she held onto his arm and pulled him close. “I’m sorry.” She whispers. He stares at her for a second, but it’s like the boy sees something in her eyes.
You watched in amazement as he almost smiled for the first time in the last two months. “Night, Mom.” She smiles back wider, letting him walk over to her bed. “I’m so happy you’re back.” Billy beams. “Me too.”
You shut off their light, and closed the door as Wanda beelined towards your room, but you were set on walking downstairs to your study. “Where are you going?” She asks. “Oh, I-I have papers. I let my students do online until you were set, but my boss is urging me to come back or they might find a replacement.” She frowns.
“I’m sorry.” You chuckle.
“Who’s the one apologizing now?” She smirks, and you look around. “Unless... You want to convince me to just do it in the morning?” A smirk finds her lips, and she shakes her head. “I don’t know... It sounds like important work. Plus, do we even know if I’m ready for...that.” Your smile widens, and you place your arms around her waist. “We could test it out.”
“Kinky. Tell me...do your wings still burst out of your back when I blow your mind?” You gasp, backing away. “I can’t believe you remember that, I’m going.” You smile, turning around to walk away.
“I was kidding!” She yells in a whisper. You turn around, softly jogging to her, and picking her up. She bursts out in a low giggle ad you carry her to the room. “I know.”

You dressed up in regal wear for the gala.
Stationed near the door, you stood and watched as Wanda seemed to enjoy a dance with her brother. It was a delight to see Natasha as well. Though she was serving the royalty, she still looked regal.
As she walked by to grab more food from the kitchen, you stopped her. The soft touch almost made her flinch, but she instantly noticed the calloused hands caressing her skin.
She turned to look at you, and you regarded her softly with a smile. “May I speak to you?”
“You may. But I can’t go far.” Wanda watched from the corner of her eye as you pulled Natasha over to a corner. “Is it important?”
“I just wanted to say hello.” The redhead scoffs, a large smile gracing you as she ducks her head. “I cannot stand you.” She pushes you back, making you laugh from your belly.
“My mother will burn me alive if I don’t get this food to the guests.” You laugh more, smiling down at her. “My apologies. I just-I love teasing you.”
“Jerk.” You let her walk away, and you walk back to your post.
“Y/N!” You turn your head, sighing as Pietro drunkenly waltzed over. “I dressed you up, and you do is work?”
“It is my job, sir.” He hums. “That may be, but I consider you a friend, and my friends have to dance at my galas, it’s a requirement!”
Sighing, you reluctantly let him drag you from where you were to dance with him and Wanda. “Dame.”
“Princess.”
———
The dancing went on for quite some time. Natasha and Yelena watched subtly at your uncoordinated dancing, which they were reminding themselves to tease you about.
You were stiff, and that led Wanda to lead. “You know everything but how to dance!” She giggles. You silently follow her, ignoring the looks from royalty who recognized that you weren’t like them.
“Oh, don’t worry about them.” She noticed your gaze, and made you look at her. “They’re jealous that someone as gorgeous as you can dance with the princess.”
“Gorgeous? I’m flattered, but I swore you couldn’t stand my face some time ago.” You smirk. She rolls her eyes, a faint smile on her features. “Just take my word, Y/N.”
“First name bases as well. I’ve gotten far in short time.”
“Oh, no. You shall still address me as-“ A window crashes, and all the guests jump in shock. You rush over to the disturbance, frowning at the sight of a torch.
Almost as if you anticipated it, another one came flying through, but you caught it and tossed it back out. You pop up from your crouch, and look around. “Guards, get them all somewhere safe. Someone find me Rogers!” You look back out the window and there are men clamoring to enter, as well as a small army marching up the hill.
“What’s happening?” Pietro asks. “Get to safety, Prince.”
“What about you?”
“You think I can’t handle myself? Go!” He sighs, running behind the guards, carrying his sister with him to wherever the royals were being taken. The staff huddled in the kitchen, and the guards stood their ground.
“Men! Follow me.” They ran after you down the steps, and outside into the square. That was when you saw it, the men were fighting others, and joined in.
After taking down a few, you’d made it to a man who’s throat you were going to slit, until you heard a chilling voice. “HALT!” The fighting ceased mc even from your side, and you dropped the man, before looking at the Titan before you.
Next to him stood two young women, one with swords, and the other with metal appendages and a single sword. “If I can’t speak to the king himself, I will take the next best thing! If I can’t get that…I’ll start killing your subjects!” You looked at Steve, who seemed to be knocked unconscious, but thankfully breathing.
“That would be me!” You yell. The Titan hums, looking over at you. “Hmm. You must be the Dame.” You nod, swallowing nervously. “That I am.”
“Well, I have a message for you.” You clench you jaw, holding to the hilt of your sword.
“Tell the king…that if he does not want to speak to me directly about his plans to invade my land, my children,” He points to the young women beside him. “Will take his children. And I will make an example of them!”
“How dare you threaten the king’s blood?!” The daughter with the longer sword charges you with speed, but you have a second or so to gather your bearings and begin to fight.
You dodge her big swings, and catch her sword with your own, giving you enough time to kick her directly in the stomach. She stumbles for only second before sending a much rougher kick to your side.
You fall to your knees in pain, and she swings her sword right in front of your neck. Your eyes widen in fear and your breath picks up. “Nebula!” The woman silently looks over to her father. “That’s enough.” She hums, backing away.
“Do you all see how easy it was for Nebula to make your precious warrior vulnerable?” Silence amongst the soldiers fill the empty space as you look down in shame. “Unlike this encounter, I will show the king no mercy if he doesn’t not get me a meeting!”
He looks directly at you. “Out of you, I shall make an example.” In a flash, Nebula’s blade ran across your skin, and you were in shock to the point where you barely noticed it.
The Mad Titan almost chuckled at your resilience. “Men. Come!” What’s left of his army retreats, and you place your palms on the wet, muddy ground. “Y/N?” You bend down, letting out the contents of your almost empty stomach.
———
“I should’ve been there to help you!”
“Prince. She took me down in less than 10 seconds, and could’ve decapitated me. I’ve been training since I left the womb, what makes you they wouldn’t have taken your head as a message?” Pietro sighs, stopping his pacing.
He shoots you a sad look, before placing his head in his hands. “Father wants to strike Titan. He wants to ambush after attacking you and the square.” You frowned with confusion.
“Why?”
“Thanos is evil. If he doesn’t strike now, whatever deal the Mad Titan wants will fall through. And we will be in peril.”
———
You stormed down the castle corridors, clutching your broken rib with a new limp in your step. Pietro was trailing after you, attempting to calm you.
You burst into the throne room with a furious face. “You cannot invade!” You yell. “Why don’t you just make the deal?”
“Excuse me?” The king asks.
“We don’t have the army for an ambush, let alone to fight a war!” Everyone in the room watched in shock as you took ragged breaths. The king’s family, including Wanda and Marya, watched on as well.
“You’re out of it, Y/N. But no matter, because I will move forward with the strike, and because you are so bold as to speak to me like a commoner, you will lead! So their blood will be on your hands as well as mine!” He storms over to you, getting into your face.
“I will do what is right! You will show respect for your king, and remind yourself that your current fate is better than death at my hands!” You huff, sparing Wanda a glance, before storming out.

You’d all made it to the shipping yard, and you fought back valiantly. Some began to retreat as you landed before Thor, noticing his dazed state. You could hear him go out on comms, and you were worried. “Thor?” Your eyebrows furrowed as you could feel it.
You began to sweat as you feel under her spell. Your eyes glowed as read as hers, and you took a deep breath, stumbling back. Outside of your mind, Wanda jumped as your wings popped out from your back. The uncoordinated motion rips the back of your shirt open, and she gasps at your beautiful features.
Not your back muscles, but the wings. And she looked into your mind, noticing you were much more frantic. and trying to resist. She began to soothe you with her native tongue. She could see it, Strucker eerily smiling at you as a young child. “You and your pathetic siblings, will never make us proud.”
You began to growl, your vision becoming hotter, the heat beginning to burn. The veins in your neck began to protrude as you burst off of the ground and straight through the top of the ship.

The amount of talking to Tommy hadn’t necessarily been fruitful. When you brought up Wanda, he avoided the subject. Billy loved his mom, he still drew for her, and would tag along while Tommy begged to stay in the Game Room where Yelena and Kate frequented.
Tommy obviously was different, but you couldn’t figure out why. Fortunately, after a week you let it go. Instead you focused on Wanda’s first few minutes without the ventilator. You brought food for the team, but ate upstairs as Wanda was being fed through a straw.
Wanda was enjoying the redo.
Every day Pietro comes to visit. Yesterday, you and Billy came, but strangely no Tommy. She wishes she could ask why, but doesn’t.
It takes her only a few days to move her limbs, and even less to say her first words without coughing. You all seem to be very supportive, and you even stay overnight by yourself just to be with her.
“This is really good.” You mumble. “Can you eat hard stuff?” Wanda chuckles breathily. “Apple sauce isn’t hard food.” She mutters.
“No, I know that, I mean the tacos.”
“You’ve always had strange taste, moya lyubov’” You wanted to argue, but looked at the items on the table with several different tastes. “I do, don’t I?” Wanda giggles, sitting back.
“So you’re retired? We’re retired?” She asks as she settles back. “Yeah. I-I uh…I teach now. I’m a professor at NYU, I teach physics. Which is very ironic considering I break the rules of physics every time I fly, or flew.”
“You don’t fly anymore?”
“No. I-I don’t have a reason to. I promised the boys I’d stop going on missions…after what happened to you of course.” Wanda gulps. “They were horrified when they saw you. I was horrified. I-“ You pause, rubbing your face as tears begin to fall.
“It wasn’t your fault.” She says, remembering these things from this Wanda’s memories. The literal sword being plunged into and ripped from her back. She fell to her death, rolling onto the beach as she recalled.
“You told me you felt like something bad would happen, and I didn’t fucking listen. “One more mission.” my ass.” Wanda sighs, caressing your face with her hand.
“Come on, it’ll be fun to get back in the field, right?” Wanda rolls her eyes, watching you with a smile. “Yeah, maybe for you. But I enjoy retirement, Y/NN.” You scoff, sitting back with an annoyed expression.
“Wanda, I don’t want to go on my own. It’s just one job. One.”
It ended up being much more that that.
You were cloned, and they’d come after you. It got to Wanda first, and hurt her. It destroyed you, and the destruction you’d brought upon afterwards was something she didn’t need to know at all.
Three years of torture because you couldn’t handle being on your own for too long. What a baby. “I was being a child.” A knock from the door pulled you out of your thoughts. You went to stand, but Natasha opened the door.
Your children walked in behind her, and Billy ran to the bed, hugging his mother. Wanda was delighted, but frowned when she noticed Tommy hiding behind his godmother’s leg. “Tommy.” You warned.
The boy wouldn’t move, he wouldn’t look at her. Natasha looked behind her, trying to get the boy off her leg before you got angry like you usually did. “Tommy, say hello to your mother, now.” He still wouldn’t move.
“Thomas!” You yelled, making the boy flinch. You felt a soft but stiff hand on yours, making your your jaw twitch as you stared at your wife. “It’s okay. He’s fine. He doesn’t have to.” Wanda says. Natasha smiles, dragging Tommy with her as she moved towards her friend. “I’m glad you’re okay.”
You scoff, standing up to leave the room. Without regrading either woman, you do leave, slamming the door behind you. “She was very upset. Swore whatever happened to me was her fault, I think what just happened made her a little more upset.” Natasha sighs, simply agreeing with a nod.
“I didn’t mean to make her upset.” A small voice says, making Wanda smile. He still sounded the same. She didn’t know why she would think he’d sound different.
“It’s okay, your mom just needs to be alone.”
<>
Wanda was right about you being upset.
It was a little bit irrational, and Natasha didn’t think Tommy deserved to be iced out due to circumstance. You had let it go, but when you got home, laid them down.
You began to pace, but pause a picture catches your eye. It was you and Wanda taken by Tony, who was in a weird artistic phase. You were somewhere near a lake, she was 4 months pregnant. You remember that weekend like it was yesterday. God, you missed you her so bad.
You were livid that you allowed this to happen, and in turn went downstairs and drank. You swore to Wanda you wouldn’t, but you kept the alcohol hidden in case you needed it.
“I thought you quit.” You jumped, glaring at Natasha. “Jesus Christ, Nat! Why do you do that?”
The redhead shrugs with a smirk. “You need me, Y/NN.” She walks over to you, grabbing the bottle. “Get rest. And maybe don’t be so upset with Tommy tomorrow, he may be a kid, but he has feelings too.”
“Hmm.” You brush past her, not walking to your room upstairs, but over to your living room couch.

Pietro had pushed Clint and the child out of the way, ready to sacrifice himself, but you wouldn’t let that happen. You dodged an attack from Ultron’s bots, swoop down, and spread your wings so that you absorb the bullets. As each bullet embedded itself in you, your heat vision powered up.
Out of anger, you blasted the ship Ultron was on, taking it down. Pietro looks over at you in amazement, groaning at a bullet in his chest, but he shifts his focus, bringing the two before him to the ship.
You felt bullets begin to leave your body as your eyes rolled. You fell back in anguish, coughing up blood. The one time you save someone, you decide to use your heat vision, knowing it can blind you for at least a week, all for some guy you don’t know.
You groan, sitting up as you try to look around, but to no avail. A boom causes you to jump, and even though you can’t see, you can feel the ground rising above you. A gust of wind makes you look to your right as Pietro looks around frantically. “I can’t find Wanda, I need to find her.” Before he can leave, you grab the man’s arm. “Get back to the ship, I’ll find her.” You can feel him hesitate.
“I will.” You don’t see him nod, but you can feel the grip you had on his arm disappear.
You could tell that the city was floating slightly, and so you flew around, looking for Wanda. You could feel her magic in the mist, and so you followed that feeling until you touched her. She thought it was an angel, that you were that angel.
You carried her out of the city with a burst of power, taking her to the hellicarrier, and all she could do was look at you.
When you made it in, she stood up, staring at you as she found somewhere to sit. Your wings retracted into your back, and you stretched as they slithered back into your spine. You began to look around as if you were lost, and you felt a soft hand on your shoulder.
“You alright?” Natasha asks, noticing how you are looking in a completely different direction. “Yeah, I just need to sit, I kinda got hit by a lot of bullets as you can tell. This was my favorite jacket.”
Before you could sit, you turn back to the city, frowning before flying back out of the door. “Hey! Wha-”
Wanda jolted awake in hospital bed, frequently looking around. She doesn’t remember it happening that way. Using her second sight, she watched from afar as Pietro died, and you told her when you were on the run that letting those robots slow you down was a huge regret.
That must’ve been a big change to time.
“So, after all of our scans, it seems that her brain tissue has healed. We weren’t sure at first, it could’ve been a fluke, but after being more thorough…it’s true. Dr. Cho says there’s a possibility she could function without a ventilator.” Wanda can here a collective gasp, assuming you weren’t the only one here.
“You’re serious?” The nurse nods at your question, and you suck in a breath. Your head began to spin as you sat down next to Pietro. “Very. But we have to be precise about this. I also wanted to ask for you permission on this, it’s risky considering her original condition, but we’re asking if you’ll allow us to wean her off of the artificial air.” Instantly, you nod, sharing a look with your brother-in-law.
“Yeah, absolutely.”
<>
You didn’t want to leave, but Natasha informed you that your sons were wondering why you hadn’t gotten home in the last 2 days. Billy was asking if you were doing missions behind their back, despite you promising you were retired.
That worried you, so you kissed Wanda goodbye, and let her brother watch over her like he wished to now that Tony gave him a break. When you opened the door, you could smell spaghetti sauce and garlic, taking in the smell.
“Don’t tell me my kitchen has been burned down!?”
“Ha Ha Ha.” Natasha comes out of the kitchen with your apron on, and your note card in her hand. “I followed the recipes, I swear I didn’t burn any noodles, meats, pots, or utensils.” She holds her hands up in surrender, making you chuckle.
“I’m joking, it smells good in here. You got the bread, right?” She nods as you drop your overnight bag on the couch. “Where are the boys?” She makes a motion, telling you they were taking a nap.
“They were playing all day, outside and on the console thingy.” You groan. “Now all they’re gonna say when I bring up screen is “But Aunty Nat-”.” Natasha laughs, holding up a hot meatball for you. You practically run over, taking a bite as you try to let the steam not burn your throat.
“It’s good.” You mumble. “I know.”
<>
When she was officially finished with dinner, she was ready to leave, but you convinced her to stay. Thankfully, she had no other obligations and sat at the table. The boys ran down, excited to eat, and eat they did.
There was a few times you warned Tommy about eating too fast, and he basically ignored you. But as dinner began to slow down, you sighed. “Boys...I have to tell you both something, very important.” You didn’t want to wait to tell them after Wanda’s recovery.
“It’s about your mom.” That seemed to trigger them because it then became deathly silent until Billy decided to speak up. “Is she ok?”
“Yes! Of course, she’s-she’s great actually. Uh…” You place your utensils down, smoothing out your shirt. “Yeah, uh…she’s awake now.”
Before you could even think, Tommy had disappeared from the table, causing you to jump in surprise. “Wha-“ Billy leaves the table, running after his brother as you looked over at Natasha confused.
She shrugs, continuing to eat. “You’re a terrible godmother.” You say, with a small smile as she gasps. “What?! What did I do?”
You mocking her shrugging with an exasperated sigh. “What the fuck are you shrugging for? You’re not helping at all.”
“Help with what? We don’t even know why he left.” She mumbles as she chews on a meatball.
“I hate you…Truly.”
<>
The next morning, you gave Tommy his space. Which seemed to please him because he didn’t want to speak to you.
It wasn’t like you did anything wrong, and they loved Wanda, but they hadn’t seen her awake in years.
It was terrifying when they were 7, and she was still healing from bruises on her face. As the first year passed, she healed and the boys wanted to visit every night. You would sleep as they read to her, and then you’d treat them to breakfast if the sun ever rose.
Then they turned 8, and they didn’t have time to come as much. There was that time you got really drunk at Natasha’s party, and she dropped you there by yourself. The boys were worried and followed you, but when they got there you were crying, you were in anguish.
How could she do this to us?
He thought it was unfair. In came the resentment, and he stopped asking to come. So when he heard your cheery tone after dropping a bomb like that, he was obviously upset.
“Have a good day at school, okay?” Billy happily nods, walking outside the door, and Tommy gives a small smile, walking after his brother.

earth-326 - wanda maximoff

Summary: after Wanda brings down Wundagore, she’s brought to another universe, one where she doesn’t have the power to get back
a/n: as soon as i am settled back in my dorm, the ease into it finale will be released💁🏽♀️ but while i was writing this i was thinking about bullet train which i saw last thursday, and pietro looks like tangerine here💁🏽♀️
Wundagore came down, and Wanda felt it.
There was a burst of red light, and she gasped, feeling the roof cave in. And then she opened her eyes.
A bright light met her, and she gasped with a tube in her mouth. The small ventilator beeped loudly, but slowed down as she took deep breaths. She tried to move, but her hand wouldn’t move.
“Hey, Witchy.”
And her legs were stuck in place. She was so in her head, that she hadn’t noticed that the beeping had startled you awake. “Wanda?” Her frantic breathing hitches as she recognizes your voice.
Wanda’s head turns you as your jaw dropped. Frantically, you stood, tripping over yourself as you ran into the hallway and farther down the hall where Pietro was waiting. He drank from a cup of the terrible coffee in the hospital wing of the complex. texting his mom at the same time.
“Piet!” The exclamation startles him, causing him to squeeze the cup. The coffee sprays on his shirt, while also staining the cuff of his dress suit. You cringe, running over to the small sink on the other side of the room, dampening them with water as you run back.
“Shit, I’m sorry.” You help him wipe the coffee off, to which he thanks you. “What is it that’s got you so riled up?” He asks. “W-Wa-Wanda! She’s-She’s-“
“Spit it out, Y/LN!”
“She’s awake!”
<>
The two of you ran to the room, but not before bringing a nurse with you.
She was then transferred to a room where she could be properly evaluated, far away from the comatose ward. Wanda was still wondering how she got here, and why she was put into this Wanda.
She was brain dead, and in comatose. What did she have left to live? I mean you’re there, and Pietro, maybe even the boys, but this body.
“Now, we put her on fluids. She seems to be well on all fronts at the moment. But, considering she just woke up, it’ll be some time before we can get her for tests. I can try to swing it, but due to the spontaneity of the situation, and a convoy of men being treated…” You wave the nurse off, telling her it was okay before she takes off.
Pietro sighs, walking into the room as he pockets his phone. You swallow, looking up at him. “Stark?” You ask to which he nods. “Tell her I’ll be back, alright?” You nod, watching him grip the edge of the bed, before walking out of the room.
A large sigh escapes you as you sit back, but before you could begin to speak to her as you always did, your phone rings.
natty
Sighing, you pick up the phone, placing it on your ear. “Hello?”
“Hey...you called? How is she?”
“No idea. I’m still trying to process it myself.”
“I haven’t told the boys, but I feel like Billy knows.”
“I’m sorry about that, I told him being invasive.”
“It’s okay, I don’t mind. I'm surprisingly not good at hiding my emotions around kids.” That makes you chuckle.
“Yeah, well uh...we have to make sure she’s even good to start speaking. What about therapy? They said without the ventilator her brain could fail, what if she’s on it forever?”
“Hey, don’t worry about that. She’s awake, isn’t she?”
“Yeah.”
“Well...that’s great news, okay? Let’s just make sure that this doesn’t go wrong.”
“Okay. Yeah, I-” Sigh. “I’m just excited and terrified.”
“Hey! That’s fair, just be calm.”
“Yeah, uh...thanks for the pep talk, Natty.”
“No problem, tell her I said hi.” The line clicks, and you pocket your phone, straightening up to look at her. You scooted closer, placing your hand on hers. Silently staring, it’s not long until she wakes up. Wanda still couldn’t move, and realizing that wherever she was wasn’t a dream.
She mumbles into the tube, clenching her jaw as she felt like she was moving, but she wasn’t. You noticed this, frowning in worry, but as you stood up to leave, you felt her stop you.
It wasn’t like she was moving her whole arm, but her fingers latched onto the bracelet Billy had made for the both of you on your wrist. Her pointer and middle finger folded into the bracelet, begging you to stay.
You stared on in disbelief.
You swallowed your saliva, sitting back down as she painfully opens her eyes. “Hey, it’s okay, I’m here.” You held her hand, caressing it. “I don’t know if you remember much, the doctors said if…when you woke up, brain damage may have affected your memory, ya know?” Perfect.
If she was stuck like this for the time being, and the Wanda she was in was actually dead due to the darkness of this mind, she wouldn’t have to put up a front. “The boys will be very happy to see you. Pietro was-He looked like he was gonna cry.” Her brother was alive here, she wondered about everyone else.
Wanda heard you talking to Natasha, so she was alive as well. Makes her wonder how this Earth was different from hers and 838. “You missed a lot. The Avengers retired, all of us.” So the Avengers still exist, which meant Wanda has her powers.
“We all thought that thing had killed you, but Steve and Tony took care of it fast. You wouldn’t wake up, so we brought you to a hospital out in Sokovia, right? You were there past normal protocol, after a month you’re supposed to be moved, but you hadn’t woken up. So we moved back to the compound, closed off that section of the hospital building, called it the comatose ward.”
“I think everyone just felt bad, so they didn’t cut you off. Thank god they didn’t, right?” It wasn’t necessarily a question to her, but to yourself. “I mean, it’s my decision as your partner, but…Oh! I don’t live at the compound, anymore. No one does really. Kate, maybe. Oh, you should totally meet her, she’s awesome, the boys love her. We live in that house in Jersey that you wouldn’t stop going on about.” Westview?
You froze as you heard her mumbling. “Did you just say Westview?” So she said it out loud? She just hums at you. You chuckle in delight. “Yeah, yeah, Westview. Tommy plays soccer, and Billy does ballet. They’re both phenomenal.”
She hummed, making you beam. “Uh…I got in an accident. I obviously recovered, but I felt guilty for waking up so early when you were still just…in a coma.”
Wanda had been attempting to move her fingers for the last few minutes, and she ended up feeling a crack in her stiff fingers as she caressed your shaking hand. “It’s okay.” She mumbles, causing her to cough from her throat’s dryness.
“Woah! Slow down. I know you didn’t want me to leave…But-But I still gotta get a doctor, they have to-“ You paused, sighing with a smile. “God, you’re alive, how?” Wanda worried about that too, frankly she had no idea.
She wasn’t dream walking, she felt too grounded in reality for it to be a possession. What if this was a just the afterlife?
“WANDA?!” You ran across the beach, slowed down by the sand as Wanda’s body laid in it. Falling to your knees, your eyes widened at the gaping hole in her chest.
Gasping, you push hairs out of her face, not noticing as the girl struggled to breathe, her magic barely healing her. “Hey! Look at me! Look at me!” You can feel a gust of wind as Pietro runs next to you, eyes widening at the sight of his sister. He sneers, immediately going after the assailant.
“Wanda?”
“Wanda?!”
“Wanda?” Wanda’s head shook as a hand grounded her back in reality. “You okay?” She nods.
That was too specific to be fake.
