My mistake is always in thinking I'll be able to stop myself at a reasonable point of tiredness, go to sleep, and continue the next day.
The lie detector test determined (over and over and over again)... that was a lie.
Also, while I'm here, to every reader, please please please comment (if you don't usually). What takes you one exhausted night to read can take an author months or even years to labour into the world, and we are SO FUCKING NEEDY FOR VALIDATION. A single comment. A single “I loved this!” Or, even if you didn't, a “thanks for sharing!”
That's where the crack is for us.
I just knocked back a 70k wincest fic over the course of an evening. You know what else is 70k words? The fucking novel on my desk I've been wanting to read for weeks that makes me go "ohh no that's a lotta pages :(" every time i look at it
I have no trust, so if you tell me “angst with a happy ending” and it’s a WIP, great, you have fun, I’ll see you when its done. This has nothing to do with the quality of your fic, I assure you. I just have no faith that you‘lol finish it and I don’t want to be stuck on a bad ending cliffhanger.
Look.
I’m just saying, you can rip my heart and soul out, trample it, ruin me with a good horribly angsty fic, just as long as you promise, and follow through on that “Angst With a Happy Ending” tag.
You can make me read so much pain if only I am promised and delivered the exquisite release of our main character of the fic getting a happy ending.
Lmfao am I the only one who reads fanfics when I have papers due and exams coming?

Recently my rp partner and I have been getting a lot of negitive/mean comments left on our fics on Ao3.
It’s strarting to get a little old that people are being so petty about how we write characters and they berate us for not making said characters the way others write them or how they want the characters to be writen.
I’ll say it once: Don’t read if you don’t like. Don’t leave nasty comments. Give constructive crit.
