This sound guy theory is so stupid. How hard it is to admit that a tech guy on his forties trolling hundreds and hundreds of people for pure pleasure is completely unreasonable, instead of admitting it was louis and harry. The closeted gay band members reason is actually much more believable considering everything so far
Mark the sound guy theory is plausible if you look at the bears from a extremely shallow perspective, so I don't necessarily blame them to try to find a reasonable explanation that is not "closeted gay band members communicating through teddy bears" - because it does sound insane, I get it. However, when you actually look into it... it sounds even more insane that this guy 100% did it because the bears are in a video with him, or because he lives next to Homes Chapel. When we're giving literally a hundred other reasons they can't explain. When you want to debunk something, you need to debunk all of it with a good explanation, a narrative that actually makes sense. And that's where antis get stuck, they can answer maybe three or four questions very reasonably but how about the others 96 you don't have an answer for? Look at this guy in the video. Look at him:
Why on earth this person on his 40s would want to teach One Direction fans about gay culture and the abusive industry? Why would he literally pretend to be Harry and Louis? Because we can discuss who was and who wasn't behind the bears, but you can't make this shit up. And whoever was doing it, did the connections with Harry and Louis on purpose and that's undeniable. And please, RBB is literally right there! For everyone to see. Why Harry and Louis were "fine, keep doing it" even though they knew the fans were thinking it was them. Why would they want to feed this entire thing? When they had the opportunity to give a fine explanation Harry was "uhm hm ahnn….. I think it was someone for the crew? yeah yeah that's it". and not "oh my god have you seen how crazy that is? it's wasn't any of us guys, people from the crew is messing with you" That's how you deny stuff. Does this guy looks like he wants to spend $750 in stuffed animals? And create a twitter account for them? That's the guy they think is behind the bears and planned more than 40 outfits and scenarios for 7 months. And they think that's perfectly fitting.
While that's who we think it is:
Two people who have made plenty of allusions about the gay culture, about people the bears mentioned over and over. Two people who were in a band that clearly suffered from abusive management, Liam himself said it with all the words, it's not speculation. It was cruel. They did Eroda and the scavenger hunt for Two of Us. How people can brush off the amount of coincidences with the bears after all of that? I'm sorry but the sound guy doing it and they standing there letting him do it is as bad as they doing it themselves. They are not debunking shit, they run in circles because they know admitting about the bears means everything is a lie.

I’ve just rewatched Harry’s performance at the Grammy’s and what struck me this time was the fact that his vocals weren’t the greatest? The revised version was really good, the performance itself too, don’t get me wrong. It’s just the vocals that kind of didn’t match up to the quality of the other elements, you know? He sounded as if he was either straining or a bit ill? Maybe that’s just me though
So I’ve caught up with Zayn’s interviews and to be completely honest I forgot how incredibly polite the man is. It was really endearing. That being said - still don’t understand why we are getting those 2 months after his album release (I know, I know, he’s promoting the single).
He did phrase some things strangly, I won’t lie. Even in the GQ Interview he said that he has to fight people to do things the way he wants. Not exactly suprised, still worrying though.
The fact that he won’t take back his words about the Grammys in actually quite brave. He could probably play it off in one way or another. Zayn saying he doesn’t value those awards so he wouldn’t accept a win anyways is admirable. Just standing up for your beliefs.
ALSO. ZAYN SAYING NIALL MAKES THE BEST MUSIC AT OF THE FIVE AND THAT HE IS A FAN? WOW. We know you should be on the Grammy’s committee now. Although he clearly hated being told to choose, which is totally understandable. He sounded a bit sarcastic? But I do think that was his true opinion.
One more thing: in the GQ interview he is made into this overly confident kind of bad boy person, while in all those spoken interviews you could see how untrue that is (as we all know). He was basically crediting everyone but himself. He’s a real sweetheart.

Thanks for your insightful response on playlists.
You also brought up an expense that so many miss when discussing promo - the cost of flying the artist and their band/team around for appearances and associated expenses.
The story many Louies tell is that Louis had 'no promo' for Walls and its singles because he didn't do SNL or have an Eroda/Niall Storm type campaign, but he spent Oct-mid December on a promo tour of US radio shows, playing small sets at pre Jingle Balls etc. I know he had barely anything post Walls but this kind of mini tour is surely useful in building links, is expensive to fund and yet is usually dismissed as meaningless or not even mentioned in fandom talks about his promo.
I agree that fans have a very narrow definition of what ‘promo’ is (the short version is a lot of people only count content they personally enjoy and things they see as prestigious).
And I think your point suggests a much more useful and interesting way of looking atm promo. Rather than asking whether there was enough - as if promo can be measured by weight - I think it’s far more interesting to ask how well spent the money was. That accepts that labels are not going to invest unlimited resources and that a good promo campaign is one that uses money well.
So while it’s important to acknowledge that that was promo - I think it’s also worth asking whether it was a particularly good use of time and money. I’m not at all convinced that US radio play was a good use of resources for Louis’ album campaign. Radio is costly and only delivers if you hit big, and I think the chances of that were very low.
In general, my thoughts about Louis album campaign was that it was super disjointed. There were good bits, mostly those directed towards the fandom (the stuff that involved collecting location data was probably particularly useful in tour planning, and the mural was great). But there was incoherence between UK and US, and resources weren’t allocated particualrly strategically. I think there were external factors that made things so incoherent. Syco’s capacity was obviously very limited and any money that was spent on early singles would be counted as part of the marketing budget, even though if you were making a plan for the album as a whole you’d do it very differently.
Anyway, this is why I hope that Louis develops his plans for a second album thoroughly before looking for a label. I think it gives him the right chance of a promo campaign that is coherent and fits his music.

Yep, It's actually a very commonly used term meaning "the powers that be!"
It's way better than using mgmt/label/[insert other authority figure here] because the reality is that there are SO MANY PEOPLE behind the scenes that we really don't know if it's management, label, or some combination of both that are causing the issue. Using tptb is a more general term that refers to whoever it was that made the decision(s) in question, without incorrectly placing blame somewhere.

So since people seem to think it is as easy as making a statement and having to pay restitution in order to be out let me refresh your memories. I am no Steve Brookstein fan. He is problematic at best but here’s his experiences with Simon Cowell.

So I do not give a damn if you believe people are not coerced into being in the closet. They literally are. Whether it is contractual or verbal they are coerced. Imagine being literal kids and being told that people depend on you you can’t mess it up by being out. Or the threats that were made against them. We know Louis was flown to LA alone so Simon could give him a dressing down. I do not think I want to ever know what was said to him. So fuck off with that they can’t be coerced. Also may I just give a gigantic fuck you to anyone willing to turn a blind eye to everything Louis has done to shade his situation. You think the kid is his? Good say you are a Harrie and make like a banana and split. I have been here far too long for some holier than thou blogger with a superiority complex to try to guilt me into silence about things that were shady and remain shady. Fuck that. And one last thing. I am one of those mothers who made posts about how new moms can’t do this or that and I stand by every word I said. I didn’t care for Gigi AT ALL until I joined this fandom. Knew who she was but didn’t care to follow her on social media, etc.
Me becoming an OT5/Zayn stan GAVE HER a follower. And I’m not the only one who started following her over the last year.
Her fame as increased SUBSTANTIALLY since being associated with Zayn. It’s all the media ever talks about. They barely ever mention her without mentioning Zayn. HER MOTHER admitted she wanted them to date to use Zayn for his money and to increase Gigi’s fame.
Then there’s Maya. People say they knew who she was prior to dating Liam or that they would have “discovered her eventually because she’s a model”. Okay? You make a fine point that maybe you’d know who she was without Liam but then dating CATAPULTED her career and fame.
Maya would not have gained such a following so quickly without Liam. Her rich daddy certainly set her up well.

I think this song opens the discussion for such a broader subject, but I'm going to try to be brief about it.I'VE FAILED I'M SORRY Honestly, I think Habit is about making choices and in my opinion it’s the explanation on why One Direction is on an indefinite hiatus.
I don't think it means a break up if that's what you're asking, let's get this out of the way. I think it means him having the love of his life, and then not being able to be with this person. In my opinion, the closeting had a huge impact both on their relationship and on the band. And that's not really rocket science, is it? You all may remember when Louis mentioned that this music was about his relationship with his job at the time, a love x hate relationship. I think it talks about exactly how it felt for Louis on the pressure of having to choose between One Direction and the person he loves, because both things couldn't coexist, Harry and Louis from One Direction can't be on a relationship.

The reference of being "out the door" for me is very clear in parallel with so many Harry's songs. Their closeting hit them in different ways, and for Harry particularly always seemed to be very hard the part of hiding, and pretending and lying. He seemed to be on edge about it since 2012 tbh, ready to "give up everything, just ask me to". So I honestly think he was very done with it and he kept going because Louis was trying very hard to find a way out behind the scenes. That's probably why we saw so much push and pull during 2014, so much punishment, and then a few changes in 2015. God, there's so much to unpack here, everything fits like a puzzle if we stop to think about it. We heard so many times about Louis being the one taking the lead and making decisions for the band. When he talks about "give me another chance", my guess is that Harry was probably asking for the hiatus for a really long time but Louis was desperately trying behind the scenes to make it work. And "he messed up" (trying to fix it, trying to make it work). I'm not getting into it right now but my guess would be babygate, belfast and all the jazz, the "moment" of their disagreement could be this one. Again, it's all guesses and reaches.

Talking about the same thing as in the first verse, he tried very hard to have both worlds and it didn't work out. He feels guilty about it, but at the end he made the right choice. As for "I miss you now" and also "I'm missing you and your addictive heart", could mean a lot of things, but I would say that would be essentially being apart for the first time, have to work in their individual projects. They spent five years on each other's pockets until they had to be on their own, never together in public anymore, going on tour and so on. It was easier in the band to be physically together, but it was unbearable to hide.
