soryn's head tilts slightly, a little surprised by her reaction to a harmless spider. " it is just one little spider. hardly the size of a dime! " he tells her, an amused smile forming on his lips. " okay, okay, i will catch it and take it outside, i promise. " he offers his hand to the little spider, letting it crawl onto his fingers before closing his free hand over it so it doesn't try to jump down or start crawling up his arm. soryn carries it outside and places it gently down onto one of the bushes furthest from the front door. " there, all taken care of. " he smiles, closing the door behind himself. " no more spider. "

" oh, it is not so bad. they always make a reappearance and you can catch them then. " he tells her with a soft chuckle. fears of things such as spiders always amused soryn a little, but in his defense, the most poisonous of spider bites wouldn't effect him. well, it would, but he can heal any injury away, burn off toxins of any and every variety. he can handle one with ease and would still be fine. he is immortal, after all, but nic doesn't know that. judging solely on appearances, soryn just knows how to scoop up a little house spider and carry it right outside without getting bitten.
" no more spider, i promise you. i left him right outside in the bushes. " soryn assures with a growing smile, dusting off his hands. " do what, pick it up? " his head tilts slightly and after a second he simply shrugs. " i merely just... ever-so-gently nudged it into my hand and then carried it outside. simple as that. have you never seen someone do that before, nic? "

“Ya say tha’, but i’s when ya lose track of i’ tha’ i’s tha worst! Tha small ones are as dangerous as tha big ones! I’ takes one second ta lose ‘em fer they eat me in my sleep!” A little over dramatic, but since when was a phobia ever calm and rational? Much like a tense cat, Nicole finds herself watching the other intently, ensuring she backs away from him when he walks by. Nothing on his part, she just wants a wide girth between her and the hellspawn in his hands.
Just the THOUGHT of having that thing crawl on her and hold it in her hands was enough to make her dizzy with anxiety. How he does it, she has no idea. But he’s definitely one of the braver people she’s met at this point. “No more spider. . .?” Still anxious, but she slowly starts to unfurl from herself when she’s assured it’s gone. “How tha fuck did youse even do tha’?”
a soft laugh leaves soryn. " forgive me, i did not mean to frighten you even more, nic. it was not my intention in the slightest. " sometimes it slips their mind that humans aren't always assuaged by honesty. sure, the spider could've come back had she tried to go after it, but it most likely would've disappeared and died there (or left and made its way into someone else's home) or it would've reappeared and she would've killed or caught it then. nicole might've been a bit tense after, but the spider would be gone one way or another.

the demon blinks at her. well, they could be honest and say there are worse horrors in hell, or that some of their demon friends look like spiders/are spider-esque, but what's the likelihood she'll believe them? " spiders are important creatures. it is good to care for them rather than kill them. spiders only get a bad rap because they are venomous and because they are not 'pretty' like, say, butterflies. " soryn explains with a smile. " if you were a spider, would you want someone to squash you? "
“Ya know, them reapparin’ sounds worse.” Was he trying to make her feel better about the whole thing? Goodness gracious. By all accounts Nicole was grateful that the spider was gone, and even more so that he took the time to reassure her and make her feel better. Or at least, trying to. Knowing that they come back did little to comfort, however. Even though all logic dictates he’s correct, phobias aren’t exactly rational in any sense.

As he questions whether or not she’s seen someone do it, she gives a soft nod. Her dad has done it when he carried them outside because she was too afraid. But that’s just it to her, she’s seen it, she just is unable to fathom it. The thought alone was highly distressing to her. "I. . .I mean yer braver than me, ya know? My pops is tha same way. . .I jus' don' understand i'. No' in tha slightest, I'll say. Why don' they bother youse?"
“ you don’t have to do everything yourself. ” @ Aggie!

" w-well, i-i-if n-not me, then w-who else? " the idea of letting someone help her was beyond her. she was used to the independence and having to do things on her own, regardless of how terrible she felt. if she stays in bed, nothing will get done. the house will just become a mess again! this, and she has her cats and dog to take care of. she can't just leave them to fend for themselves! " please, y-you d-don't have to help me a-at all, nic. i-i can do all of this just f-fine on my own. " regardless of the sore throat, the pounding in her head, the small fever and the congestion in her sinuses.
