Fate, Intertwined
Tartaglia never cared much for worship of the Overseer. Until he learnt of the perks that came with it.
Warnings: Childe speaks one language and it is battle, and unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) for him the player is fluent.
_________________
It began with rage.
The Traveler, nuisance extraordinaire, in cahoots with Rex Lapis to fake the Archon's death and stealthily hide the Gnosis - or so Childe had thought when he raised his blade at the blonde - and to make a complete fool out of him. Oh, how he'd wanted to crush them then and there, mission be damned.
The rage turned into surprise and then into begrudging respect when the Outlander matched his blows, holding their own against the might of his Vision, his Delusion - admirable, really. By the time he'd been forced into Foul Legacy, the battle-hungry Harbinger already wore a smile on his concealed face, rage cast aside momentarily. It had been long since he'd enjoyed such a fight, and he was determined to make the most of it, no leftover annoyance or anger to blind his senses and deprive him from the joy and intensity of combat.
He did not feel you during that battle. Or, at least, did not recognise your presence, guiding his opponent's moves. How could he, when you had yet to take him as a vessel? Ajax was far from a dedicated worshipper at that point, having heard of your existence in passing and disregarded it as nothing more than folk tales. Even if the Overseer was real, he used to think to himself, the only god he followed was the Tsaritsa, and that was simply because she had allowed him to grow stronger. If you wanted him as an acolyte, he'd told Zhongli once, you'd have to come to Teyvat and fight him yourself. If you bested him, he'd follow you to the ends of Teyvat and beyond, but he had no time for a god who didn't bother to show face in the battlefield.
The week that followed, the Traveler returned. And in the next. And in the one after that. It became routine, so much so that he started making room in his schedule to fit the weekly arrangement. When asked about it, the Harbinger only smiled. "I'm meeting a friend."
Then, the starshowers happened. He'd never cared much to learn what they meant, but had, in passing, heard they were tied to you. He wouldn't deny, it was a beautiful spectacle, but Tartaglia rarely had the time to stop and enjoy the show. So, he'd just chosen to look at them once and call it a day.
The stars didn't seem to agree with this course of action.
He could swear he was hearing someone calling for him, but no matter how many times he turned around, he just couldn't figure out who. There was also the matter of the constant tugging. He'd never felt something like that, as if binding ropes pulled him in a direction he could not comprehend.
They came to him both awake and in dreams - "Come home, Childe. Come home."
It eventually got so bad he resorted to Bubu Pharmacy. He was barely getting any sleep, and it seemed that the more he fought off the pulling sensation, the stronger it got. Unrelenting. Unwavering. Unyielding.
Ajax. Come home.
"Qiqi knows. Qiqi thinks... Qiqi can answer for you."
Ajax wasn't sure whether sending a child to whatever had tormented him the last few weeks was a good idea, but his objections were cut short by an unsettlingly familiar aura taking over the zombie. He'd felt that before, he knew it. Sensing the Harbinger's poorly veiled distress, doctor Baizhu placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Qiqi will be fine. She's undergone this process thrice before. I believe the call you mentioned feeling has something to do with being a chosen vessel. Qiqi is one already, but answering the call every now and then seems to make her healing more efficient."
Slightly more relieved, Childe walked out of Bubu Pharmacy. Perhaps he'd take some time to relax before heading back to work...
As for you, you were ready to snap the ginger in half. Not only had he made you hit hard pity, he'd had the audacity to not come home. In his stead, Qiqi.
Between heading to the golden house and kicking his ass and simply shutting off for the day, fate decided you'd go with the first one, taking out your frustrations on the very cause of them. Childish, perhaps, but hey, you still hadn't reaped that week's rewards. And he deserved it. You'd definitely add your now C3 Qiqi to the party.
Ajax's plans to relax were as ruined as your 50/50 as he felt himself suddenly teleported to the Golden House.
You didn't give him time to do his cutscene before striking, uninterested in hearing him talk. The traveler and the rest of your team moved fast and efficiently, forcing the Harbinger to take on his delusion's power earlier than usual.
"Comrade! You seem... Hah... Really mad at me. I don't know what I did this time, but rest assured, I won't just lie down and take it!"
"You'll die either way."
This voice... Wasn't the traveler's.
Ajax knew the blonde would sometimes bring in some travel companions, and that day had been no exception. However, the voice that rung through the Golden House didn't seem to belong to any of them, but still coming from them all the same.
Like the glowing aura they emitted.
The one he'd associated to the Traveler, the same one he'd seen around that young cook from Wanmin, and the Yuheng of the Qixing.
The same one that had taken hold of Qiqi earlier that day.
Why had he never noticed it?
It was stronger, pushing against him with a force equal or greater than the one that had pulled at his very spirit over the last weeks. The voice that had rung through the hall... It was the same that had been calling him, begging for him to give in.
Archons help him, you'd actually made good on his challenge. You wanted him as an acolyte, and had come to fight him for it.
He took on his Foul Legacy form, laughing as he did so. His initial shock had worn off, and he fully intended on enjoying this fight to the fullest.
"Bring it, Overseer!"
You didn't hear him, too focused on the best way to get the job done. Switching back amd forth between team members, adding a few boosting foods and potions in the meantime, you intended on taking out your frustrations by absolutely obliterating the Harbinger as quick as you could.
He didn't want to come home? Fine. Your team was already strong without him anyway. It wasn't like you'd saved up like crazy only to have your hopes shattered...
Meanwhile, Tartaglia was having second thoughts. The people on your team... None of them should've been able to best him so easily, save for the Traveler. None of them was known for being a warrior, none had trained like he had, logically, they shouldn't have been stronger than him. And yet there he was, losing. So this is the power you could offer...
No matter how strong Childe's Foul Legacy was, it could not compete against the power of a well-built vessel, much less four. Sooner than the ginger expected, he found himself defeated, the sting of knowing he could've reached such strenght had he taken the time to learn a bit more about you hurting far more than the strain of his Abyssal form or the wounds left by the sparring session.
He needed to fix it. He needed to catch your attention again, needed to put himself in your hands. You clearly wanted him as a vessel, there was no doubt in his mind about it, and oh was he eager to be yours now. With your aid, who knows if anything would be able to stop him? He'd become devout if that's what you wished, anything, everything to have that sort of strenght.
"You're a cut... Above..."
You heard the usual voiceline as you collected the rewards from the ley line blossom, and once you checked them you nearly fell off your chair.
"What the...!?"
An intertwined fate. Defeating Childe had granted you an intertwined fate.
That was not one of his usual drops. Scratch that, you didn't think non-event bosses dropped those at all! You checked your banner page. Yep, there it was. One intertwined fate. In your inventory, too.
"Very funny. Very funny. Made me waste my primogems..."
If you didn't know better, you'd say he was taunting you.
Oh well.
It was enough for one pull.
You did not have high hopes, but hey, if anything, it would build up pity. You'd usually walk to a specific spot for better luck, but this time, you didn't bother. Bastard wasn't coming, so why take the time?
You pressed the button and stars flew through the sky.
He didn't even hear you call this time. As soon as Ajax saw the first bright lines painting the sky, and felt the faintest tug, he followed along eagerly. He had one chance, and did not intend to let it slip away again.
The star turned gold.
"EXCUSE ME?!?"
On your screen, lo and behold, the evasive harbinger had come home. With zero pity, in a single pull, outside of a designated pulling zone.
You didn't know whether to build him or throw him off a cliff so he'd think about what he did. Maybe let him spend some more time with Zhongli so he'd understand the pain of having someone ruin your savings.
"You, Ajax, are officially a pain in the ass."
At least now he was home. Which was the bare minimum, but an improvement nonetheless. Opening the character screen, you got to putting the materials you'd farmed in advance to good use, unaware of the victorious grin on the Harbinger's face as he felt the newfound power coursing through his body.
#heart in paradise, body in abyss
synopsis: you may be kind enough to forgive but never to forget. those who would've cherished you the most know it, perhaps too well.
warnings: yandere content, yandere cult stuff, mentions of harassment and violence, mentions of death; impostor is referred with fem!pronouns but does not mirror reader’s gender
note: @nicebonescomrade's villain au that @mikachuchu brought to my attention :)) i'm not too proud of it, but i hope it's good lkasngldfag

“you will never know kindness, not even in death will you find peace."
perhaps, it's true that you'll never know kindness. you’ll never feel it on your skin when the breeze of mondstadt tickles your cheeks. you’ll never see it on the kind faces of the citizens of liyue. you’ll never hear it from the gentle pluck of a zither. you’ll never envision it when the stars align once more in place long forgotten.
maybe that is what fate has decided as your body caved into the pain, and the tests of your strength has failed you. your legs had long gone numb, your arms just the same. it’s such a nice place to rest, you think. if only it could stay that way for you, letting yourself fall into the solitude of nature once for all; you’d never have to run until your lungs have pit, never had to starve in the midst of being hunted down.
you no longer recall whatever fault it is they decided you committed, only offensive enough to invoke the wrath of those you loved once upon a time. it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, knowing that the era of your laughter has long passed. instead, it has been replace of an age where the reign of such a tyrannical ruler clawed at you.
the swift rustle of grass keeps you wide awake, even when the call of death coaxes you to finally close your eyes and rest your weary soul. the sickening high-pitched laugh of teyvat’s beloved deity rings in your ear that you’ve come to akin to the annoying buzz of a mosquito. you wheeze painfully on the forest opening, accepting your fate.
your gaze remains on the cloudless sky before you, too painful to move even a single muscle of your body. you don’t even care to identify which characters on your past roster that she brought with her.
“given up, i see.” her tone is obnoxious, yet you can only imagine of shutting her up; you’re too powerless to ever go up against the characters you oh, so tirelessly built for months on end. how ironic that they’d kill you with the weapons that you provided for them.
“can you hurry it up? i’m tired enough as it is. i don’t even want to deal with you anymore.” you’re able to pick up all kinds of sounds after that, a few growls and clicks of tongues. nothing you aren’t used to before.
“be more respectful to her grace, scum—” you faintly hear the voice of scaramouche as footsteps indicate someone has moved closer— “you’re lucky that our beloved god has shown you kindness. if it weren’t for her, we would’ve killed you where you stood.”
you almost want to double over.
“kindness?” you wheeze painfully. “what do you know about kindness?”
“mercy.” zhongli retorts from afar. “it’ll be the only kindness you’ve been shown, yet you don’t even deserve it.”
despite the ache that roots itself deep within your bones, you force yourself to smile. a cloud drifts right in front of you, and you wonder what it’d be like if you were one. at least, you’d be able to live in bliss, no longer paranoid if you’ll live to see the next day.
“i suppose offering a little more wouldn’t hurt,” their god exclaims and puffs out their chest in pride, “say your last words. it’s the least i can give for such a pitiful creature.”
“last words, huh?” you hum. there’s nothing in particular in your head. you’ve long since been abandoned by the ones you’ve cared for the most, so who’d even be kind enough to give you a eulogy? you can no longer dwell on the pain, to spout out curses in your last moments. instead, you reminisce on the times of joy.
the grass underneath you caresses your skin as you sink further into the earth, back into the soil from whence you came. "i knew kindness once— offered it, even. i always thought that teyvat was a beautiful place, but i underestimated just how cruel it would be."
"the merriment of mondstadt's windblume festival, the lights of liyue's lantern rite, the fireworks of inazuma's summer festival— i'll never forget them. the adventures we went on, and the time i spent with you all are things i cherish the most." you smile. "maybe somewhere in my heart, i can find it to forgive you. i'm just thankful for the good memories."
as soon as that is said, your face falls once more, and the grin on your lips drop into a frown. "but i'll never forget what you've all done to me."
liquid gold drips down your nose, and you can just imagine the horrified looks on their faces now that the truth has come out. you, their true god, would die of the injuries inflicted by your very own acolytes; it'd make such a good drama, you muse. you've lost enough feeling in your body that you fail to register the desperate hands that run up and down your limbs in hopes of soothing the pain that pulsates underneath your skin.
a shriek rings in the air, and you're mildly surprised it isn't yours. you find yourself crowded by all kinds of bodies, but you can't force yourself to care. if you die here, at least you were kind enough to show them the truth— even if it meant leaving them to blame themselves for teyvat's downfall.

hey same ur zhongli post and it was sick!! could you write smthing where the reader has a rifthound plush irl?? like maybe how charcters would react to them favoring rifthounds or smthing??
Coming right up!
Since you didn't specify which characters, I went ahead and picked Childe and Albedo. If you'd like to see it with others, let me know, and I'll add them in a part 2. Hope you like it!
Childe
When you first pulled him away from a fight against the wolves of the rift, the Harbinger believed it was his safety you were concerned about. Not that he didn't believe he could take them on, of course, but it was endearing that you cared so much about him that you did not wish for him to be wounded.
That illusion would be broken when, moments later, you guided him to fight a group of various machines with no regard for his wellbeing whatsoever - if your team healer healed him, good, if your team didn't have a healer, well, Childe would simply have to hold on tight and hope the damage he dealt was greater than the damage inflicted upon him.
You guided him around Seirai Island, seemingly busy catching some odd blue mushrooms. The more time passed, the more Tartaglia understood just what had happened. The Rifthounds were the only enemy you hesitated to destroy, avoiding a fight until absolutely necessary, and sometimes just having him stand at a distance just so you could observe them in their natural state.
As menacing as the beasts looked, he supposed that to a being such as you, they'd essentially be like puppies. That would certainly explain your hesitance to fight. In a way, he guessed it was no different to Teucer's admiration of mister Cyclops. He didn't doubt your knowledge of what Rifthounds were capable of, of course - part of him even believed that their fighting prowess had also managed to impress you (even if that part was only there so he, too, could feel loved by association). Still, you had most definitely categorized the beasts as something you wished to befriend.
The moment he found himself back in Liyue, the warmth of your presence gone, Childe knew what he had to do. Pulling a few strings here and there, using up some Northland funds that would fly under the radar (especially after the whole Funeral Fiasco), he got to commissioning the best craftsmen he could find. Soon enough, upon opening your in-game mailbox, you would find an incredibly accurate plush replica of one of the hounds, with a message from Liyue's resident Fatui menace.
He could feel your surprise radiating from (through?) the Traveler, as you wondered what sort of random event you'd started, but, hey, not like you were complaining. A rifthound bonus was always a good bonus to receive.
A smug grin was present on the Harbinger's face the next time he visited your teapot. Proudly sitting on a nightstand beside one of the beds was the plushie he'd sent you, and Ajax could not resist ruffling the toy's fluffy mane... Before quickly fixing the mess once he remembered that he should definitely not be messing with your belongings. Either way, he was quite thankful for the plush, because after receiving it you'd immediately granted him an unbelievable increase of strenght- no doubt a reward for a job well done. Knowing that such a small gift had given him your favor, even if just for a while, had Childe absolutely over the moon. Had he a little less self restraint and you'd find your mailbox filled with all sorts of Rifthound themed souvenirs. He had the funds and the time to provide them, after all...
Albedo
When the alchemist known as Gold had created the Rifthounds, they'd been nothing but a footnote - a residual sketch that had not meant to be, and that by all laws of nature, should've vanished long ago. Since he'd caught word of their resurfacing, Albedo had asked himself why it was that they, like weeds in a garden, persevered with such ease and intensity.
The answer, it seemed, was you, like for many other mysterious things in the world of Teyvat. For some reason, you'd decided the wolves of the rift were your favorites, and you didn't seem likely to change your mind. He'd found about your unexpected preference upon coming across an unusual plush sitting on your bedside table in the Teapot you'd designed. Someone had apparently gifted you a toy rifthound, and you'd certainly cherished it.
It baffled him for the first few days, that's certain, but had given him a new project. While regular Rifthounds were prone to bouts of aggression, and the alchemist feared for the safety of your vessels (or, heavens forbid, your own, should you descend upon Teyvat in a more solid form) in case you decided to try and tame one, they were also a creation of his master. This to say, Albedo was fairly certain that, by finding the notes in which Rhinedottir had doodled the hounds, he would be able to replicate their appearance, while modifying them just enough to be a little more docile.
It'd be a lengthy process, he was certain, but perhaps by enlisting the Traveler's help, he'd be able to track down his master's old sketches, and, after rigorous experimentation, he was certain to have the best offering you'd ever received: your very own Rifthound companion.
Frankly, he shouldn't have been surprised when he noticed your aura around the Traveler when the blonde finally arrived at his camp. It seemed that they liked to wait for you before taking on any request deemed important enough.
Albedo didn't need to say out loud that he felt warmer at the thought of you considering aiding him something important.
________
As for you, you'd gotten an unexpected quest to visit Albedo's camp in Dragonspine. Confused, you checked the event page - had you missed something?
Oddly enough, there seemed to be nothing there other than the events you were already aware of, but, hey, a character quest was a character quest, so, you rearranged your team to better suit Dragonspine and teleported right next to his camp.
Sure enough, the alchemist was there, and if that alone hadn't driven home the point that this was no ordinary quest, what he said afterwards certainly did. Recovering his master's lost notes... That seemed like an important bit of the lore - far too important to be glossed over.
You refreshed the event page and your eyes widened, a grin making its way into your features as the familiar shape of a rifthound made its appearance.
Rifthound lore? On your event page? More likely than you'd think, apparently. You quickly put aside whatever plans you had for the game that day and got your team on the case, following Albedo in his quest to retrace his master's footsteps and find how the beasts had come into being.
Your joy was palpable when, by the end of the quest, once you'd delved into a domain covered in cobwebs and dust and failed experiments to piece together fragments of Gold's writings, you found Albedo enlisting the Traveler's help to recreate one of the wolves.
Maybe you could get it as a quest reward and keep your own rifthound pet! Hopefully that was the direction in which this was headed...
Through an incredibly detailed tree of dialogue from the Traveler (you weren't sure you'd ever seen an event with this many options before, but hey, it's not like you were complaining), and after a few failed attempts, you saw your hound taking shape on Albedo's sketchbook.
"It seems we've succeeded this time." The alchemist mused. The drawing did look clearer this time, and you crossed your fingers hoping it would work.
You held your breath at the cutscene that came after, please, please let this one work... The previour three attempts had failed, the first falling apart during the stabilisation process, the second and third having turned aggressive the moment they jumped out. You didn't think you had it in you to defeat another of your creations - not only because they were adorable and made by you, but because these ones sure knew how to leave your team needing some tea-break pancakes. If the fourth one followed the pattern of getting even stronger, then...
It solidified before you, the pieces snapping together with a flash of golden light. You watched attentively as the creature made no movements to attack. The Traveler closed their eyes and reached out as Paimon looked on, shaking nervously.
And the wolf's snout met the blonde's hand, the notification of an achievement popping up as the tense music from before turned into a lighter tune. The hound sniffed the Traveler and Paimon, before licking both of their faces and running around in the characteristic floating manner of the wolves of the rift.
The rewards of the quest popped up on your screen, but, at the moment, you couldn't care less. What mattered was that you had your very own Rifthound following you around, seelie-style, and that you would take him all around Teyvat. Perhaps you'd even be able to place him in your teapot... If so, he definitely deserved his own room.
________
Albedo watched as the Traveler disappeared, jumping instead of walking away, trailed by a slightly jealous Paimon and an equally jumpy Rifthound. To anyone not familiar with the mannerisms of vessels, the scene would've seemed rather odd, but, to the alchemist, it merely looked like a mark of his success.
He'd been nervous when the first hounds failed - seen your excitement at creating them only to have it be crushed by the idea of being forced to destroy them - but whether through your sheer will or his dedication to not let you down a fourth time, the wolf that now followed you around gained life.
Not only that, but he'd also managed to gather a lot of his master's lost notes... You'd assembled even those that had little to do with the hounds, handing him an almlst complete journal. He glanced at the spot where it rested, neatly, unassumingly.
Once again, he'd have you to thank for a huge leap in his research progress.

Wealth, Fame and Power? Perfection.
Summary: SAGAU but you're from a historical manhwa. Part 1
Warnings: NO BETA WE DIE LIKE CREPUS

The mansion was crowded. Noise of chatters can be heard from here to there as they talked about all sorts of topics you can think of. They were the people of power. Both against and the one who supports the Duchy/Dukedom
The ones who supports the Duchy/Dukedom celebrated the return of the rightful heir, the one who will be a part of the royal family in the future, as they were engaged with the crown prince/princess.
But the ones against them were in rage. How dare they come back? Did the assasins they sent wasn't enough? Did the royal family helped them? There were so many questions in their mind, still thinking about their own selfishness.
There are people who are neautral. The ones who wants to watch the ongoing fight come to an end. “Who do you think will win?” An old woman asked the other who was beside her—a countess.
“For me, It's the duchess/duke.” The countess answered proudly “It's not about how many people are on their side but it's how smart and powerful they are. Sure, the opposing side has more numbers of men but remember, the duchess/duke has the royal family's support.” she added, chuckling at the mere idea of the duchess/duke starting the chaos.
“They can basically do whatever they want!” The noble woman sighed as the countess laughed at her own statement, stopping when they heard the announcement.
“The Duke/Duchess— Y/N of the L/N clan has arrived! Pay your respects!” Everyone got on their knees and bowed their head down, even the ones against them couldn't do anything. not when you feel their eyes shooting ice cold daggers at everyone under them. The true power of the next heir of the duchy/dukedom and the next in line for the throne.
“Amazing... They've completely got all silent!” Venti screamed. But not too loud, just enough for the other three to hear. “Is our God also a God here?! What kinds of vision you think they have?!” he excitedly looked at Zhongli, who was busy looking at you. “I don't know...” He answered. “But one thing's for certain. We need to show are God that we're better than them! Better than those sneaky humans wanting to have a fight with our God! MUAHAHAHA” Venti laughed scarily, making Albedo and Ei look at him with a shut-up-bard-we-didn't-ask face.
But deep down, they knew Venti was right. You have everything and you can get anything in this world, as you were the one in control here, looking at how you made those humans shake in fear under your ice cold gaze, making them feel your authority.
So they looked at each other one more time and nodded, signalling to make another plan and that this won't work.
You're not safe in here.
They need to get you out of here.
You have more power in Teyvat.
And the people here are far too weak to protect you.
So they'll give plan b a go.

Your feet finally gave in, falling face first onto a soft patch of grass that wasn't there before. It's strange; there should be nothing but dirt and debris below you, yet there was grass to cushion your fall somewhat instead.
You look back, the Archons seemed so much farther away now, but you still wanted to run despite your body begging for rest. You manage to sit up, looking down at the grass as a flower had bloomed from where your head landed.
'Was the flower always there?' You wondered, to which Teyvat answered your question by blooming yet another flower next to it, and another one, and another, and another. The flowers kept going in a line; all of the blooms in your favourite colors and comforting scents.
Nowhere else to go, you follow the flower trail. The closer you got to where they were leading you, the more flowers sprouted from the ground; each one seemingly trying to best the one before it, until a garden itself formed as you crossed a river.
Deciding to take a short break to rinse off, Teyvat hurriedly redecorates your old domain; a domain you were most familiar with and missed the most, your home.
Teyvat listens to the wishes of its creator; replacing all the luxurious architecture to the simple establishment you once sought comfort in. Sculptures of your divine being replaced by old trinkets you once bought when out with friends– or anything similar Teyvat had to offer.
Any trace of your divinity was gone, all that was left was the place you longed to return to the most.
You were home.
♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤
It took a while, getting used to your somewhat new surroundings. Everything was familiar yet off; such as Teyvat substituting the electronics of your old house back in your world with electro slimes that wanted to be pet and played with; airconditioning replaced by mist flowers that were placed strategically by the windows to circulate the cool air.
(Alternatively, flaming flowers for heaters lmao)
Trying to sleep at night was terrible, though. You would wake up in tears, shaking and sweating all over as you recall the abuse you had endured. Teyvat had to remind you you were safe, the bed shaking ever so slightly to try and get the blanket on you again, or a basket of sunsettias and apples being brought to your desk by a small anemo slime.
You refused to step outside your new domain, and Teyvat knew this. After one particularly terrible nightmare, Teyvat had one more gift for you.
♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤
"I'm going, I'm going!" You chuckle as the floor below you urged you to the front door. You shake slightly as the door opened to reveal the outside. It was so deceptively beautiful, it scared you.
"Teyvat..."
The ground shakes, mountains forming to seal off any entry to get to you. You were safe now.
"Thank you."
Too much angst? Okay imagine Darling first arriving in Teyvat and the sheer happiness they experienced in meeting their favorite characters. The whole cult is so happy to finally meet them but wait! We can’t just greet them willy nilly, so every nation just puts up a HUGE welcoming festival. Every Archon and government are amped up to one up the other in wowing darling when they enter their nation the first time. Everyone is so happy to finally have darling in Teyvat. Brainrot over ☺️
@weirdsht 👀 hope you don't mind anon but I'll have to do this too in three parts 😭
Everybody in Teyvat expected their day to go as it always has done; Flora will send the Traveller to get her some freshly picked flowers, Xiangling will be out and about with Chongyun and Xingqiu for ingredients, Thoma will do his usual housekeeping and attend to Ayaka— just their everyday routines, for eveyone.
At least, that had been the plan if it weren't for a certain, sudden shower of stars that engulfed the entirety of Teyvat's sky. Of course, this has people talking— but what can the rest of the nations do but wait when the stars— or meteorites, perhaps?— seem to be aimed at Mondstadt?
But not even the Mondstadtians, with Jean herself at the front of the investigative group, could have anticipated that they'd find you, their God and Creator, face first against the grounds of the tree in Windrise, near the statue of Barbatos.
And it is you; Jean can feel it in her very bones, can feel the way every part of her body almost unconsciously recognises you— and so can the rest of the group, even those with no vision or who are particularly religious.
Gently, lovingly, reverently, you are carried by the Dandelion Knight herself back to Mondstadt to be tended to, and despite her orders of secrecy it doesn’t take long before the entire city is abuzz and excited— you're here! Their God, their very Creator is with them and decided to visit Mondstadt first! Is it not a cause for them to celebrate, then?
And so while the city begins to celebrate, bright banners strewn over buildings, fresh flowers hung everywhere, you are in the Favonius HQ, surrounded by nearly everyone— all so happy and excited to meet you, to greet you, and even more so once you actually wake up.
You are understandably scared and confused at first and they of courser rush to comfort you— do you happen to be cold, your grace? Are you injured, your grace? Are you hungry, your grace? Would you like new clothes, your grace?— until you are calmer and now even smiling as brightly as them.
And when they hear you say that you've always wanted to meet them, too, well nobody blames them for beaming, no?
And then you say you want to explore Mondstadt, and who are they to stop you when you want to and when the whole city has prepared a big festival for you?
While the Knights quickly start clearing their schedule, it is Venti who first takes you to tour the whole city— seeing you so excited and happy to meet his people, to interact and talk with them has him with a spring in his step, even more so when said people are all too glad and happy to tell you whatever you ask them. And so when you've turned your back on him for a few seconds, he quickly gets a cecilia flower crown from Flora which he gifts you.
Seeing you wear it with pride and kiss his cheek in thanks is a memory he will cherish forever in his heart.
Klee and Diona then join you, Klee excitedly taking your hand in hers after Diona shyly gives you a delicious drink she prepared just for you and dragging you to where Bennett and Razor are all the while telling you about the new bombs Albedo helped her make. Bennett is a shy, stuttering mess that doesn't even get the chance to warn you of his bad luck before you're pulling him and Razor to a hug, the latter a bit confused but not saying anything because he can tell through every single one of his senses that you lupical, that you are friend.
And after that is when you meet Amber and Eula— Eula who's so stiff despite Amber telling her that you aren't the God she's expecting, Eula who tries to drop into a kneel before you stop her and instead also take her to a hug and tell her that she's even prettier than you thought. Amber has a Baron Bunny in her hand, which she gives to you with a bright blush but a happy grin when you laugh and thank her.
Then comes Jean and Lisa, both bearing plates of food for you. Jean is also cautious like Eula, but it is easier to put her at ease after you tell her that the city is a thousand times even better than you imagined and yes, everyone has been so wonderfully nice to you. Lisa is only chuckling into her hand, though you are not blind to a the happy little smile she gets when you link your hands with her and Jean and thank them for the delicious food.
The three of you walk around the city again, and your eyes are still bright with wonder when you notice Angel's Share and ask to go there.
Diluc is of course the first to notice you, followed by Kaeya who has a little smirk that tells you exactly that he's been pestering Diluc at work again. Although you yourself don't notice it, they both brighten up as do all those at the tavern upon your entrance.
You don't known whether Diluc would've been as stiff with you as Eula and Jean were, because it doesn't take seconds before Kaeya is starting again except this time he's pulling you into the banter— and it is banter, because despite their words there's amusement and fondness in the two brother's eyes while they pester one another and tell you to ignore the other.
And then later it is Venti who comes and take you from there, citing that there is still so much you must see! And he is not lying— there's a dance going on in the plaza with Barbara singing, who waves at you with the joy of the sun itself.
When he sees that you are hesitant to join the dance, he only shakes his head when you tell him that you don’t know the steps; this is the City of Freedom, nobody will be bothered by you not knowing the steps, your grace!
Still, Venti takes your hands in his and teaches you the steps, until you are passable enough not to step on his feet every so often. Venti himself doesn't care; he's more focused on the bright gleam in your eyes and the fact that the winds are literally singing with your laughs.
Even now, it's still hard for him to think that his beloved God is actually here— but he does not dare complain. This is a dream come true for him, he will not ruin it in any way.
(And unbeknownst to him, this is a dream come true for you, as well.)

Intro:
So I have a thought,,,,, what if instead of a god who created,,, you were the god who controlled.
Like...You didn't create Teyvat. You controlled it.
You controlled people.
Archons even.
With the appearance of the traveler. Everything became strange. They could always feel an unknown presence around him— a presence that made them—everyone feel at ease.
Soon that presence start to linger around them too. It felt akin to a warm welcoming embrace. The presence so strong, so warm so, so addicting. They couldn't fight it when it started to control them.
Not even the strongest vision user could stop it, hell even Archons couldn't. It was far too powerful.
(I'm referring to when you pull for characters)
It was at first concerning but it didn't cause them any harm. Although wary they let it be. And sooner or later they start to get used to it.
In fact they start to like it. They start to crave it.
To them the presence was odd.... It lingers around them for days— weeks or maybe months sometimes years but then suddenly it disappeares- far more longer than the time they stayed. (Time is different in game and irl)
It was....strange—having used to being around it, they didn't like the feeling of the sudden emptiness whenever it wasn't around.
Why disappear so suddenly?
They wanted to ask. But they know they cant. It will never answer. You will never answer.
They also start to notice how weird everyone seems. Like how they (the NPCS) seem to always repeat the same thing whenever they (the characters) talk to them when you're around but will act normally when you aren't.
They start to question everything. What were you? Why do you affect the world around you?
They felt like they were puppets—the presence acting as the strings that bind them—while an unknown hand controls their every movement.
And they wished to know who that hand was. Who was the one powerful enough to control Archons? To control even the most powerful people in Teyvat? Who were you? And why can't they break free from you?
Then they start to misunderstand. Were you perhaps a God of some sort?
Well I mean. You could control Archons. If you were no God then what were you?
They start to become curious too. Curious as to who you were. To what you were.
That curiosity start to become some sort of obsession uh oh cult time. They couldn't find anything about you. You were a God who was not written in any transcript nor were you in any history books.
No one has heard of you— not even Zhongli nor did Venti. Ei's sister never told her about you.
To them it felt like an insult. How dare they not know about someone as great as you? How could they not know you?
You deserved to be known.
You needed to known.
It felt like a sin not to know you.
They start to gather. They start to call themselves your worshipper. Your dearest servants who would follow you to the ends of the world.
Your puppets.
They start to form groups—cults, that worship you, inviting non vision users to worship you and your name.
Each controlling entity in every nation start to make shrines dedicated to you
Jean who orders the knights to build a shrine outside Mondsadt City, tasking Albedo into making an outline of how the Shrine would look like. Venti can sometimes be seen admiring it.
Ningguang who builds a shrine somewhere in Liyue, adoring it with gold and many other jewels. The adepti also built a separate shrine somewhere in the mountains—often visited by Ganyu, Qiqi, Yanfei, Shenhe, Xiao and Zhongli.
Outside Tenshukaku, Ei orders the commissioners to build a shrine too— there's also one somewhere in Watatsumi island —one that is personally being taken care by Kokomi and Gorou.
The shrines were useless of course—since for some reason those things always seemed to disappear whenever you were around but would reappear when you aren't
What's the use of building it if you can't see it?
(it's not programmed in game,, A+ for effort tho)
And if you think that's bad wait 'til they become self aware.
idk if anyone has done this yet but whatever here is another contribution to SAGAU hope u enjoyed
Ok hear me out
SAGAU | Imposter AU
You’ve been playing around with the idea in your head for a few days now.
“False one.” Sara’s voice is like steel. Her bow remains by her side; an attempt at diplomacy, or confidence? “Surrender now, in the name of the Almighty Shogun, and face your crimes.”
It wouldn’t have worked on Thoma and Ayaka, since you never managed to pull them from the gacha. Escaping them had been another close call.
You managed to get Kujou Sara, though, and so you came to your plan.
So you already knew that you could access the character menus, and had taken to spitefully confiscating the weapons and artifacts from your characters. You also knew that you could access the map of the world and steal things from the Traveler’s inventory, although you didn’t have an inventory of your own and had to carry everything yourself.
However, you had figured out that accessing the teleport waypoints from the map doesn’t work on you. You have to be physically touching the waypoints in order to fast travel. But using the map definitely does something; you just weren’t entirely sure what. You had your suspicions, though.
Step 1: Make a party consisting of Sara and only Sara.
Step 2: Pull up the map.
Step 3: Teleport to the most remote location in Mondstadt.
And, judging by the empty space where Sara used to be, you are indeed at step 4: profit.
Unfortunately, the soldiers that Sara brought with her did not do the polite thing and disappear also. In all your genius, you did not account for this in your plan.
You turn and run, gleefully brainstorming all of the ways you could cause problems with your newfound power.
Also known as: in which reader gains the power to teleport parties of four to any location they wish, and this power will surely not be used for evil
Hello!
For the event, I'd like a chocolate milk with bitter golden envy flavor and bitter syrup. I'd like to send Diluc, "I want you to know that I'm never leaving."
From sexy thief reader.
(i would also like to say that i looked at the bitter golden envy and bitter syrup and thought, "this is gonna be a pretty bitter chocolate milk.")
An order for the 900+ Follower event(closed)
Coming right up!
You want a chocolate milk (headcanons) with bitter golden envy flavor (villain au) and an added bitter syrup (consort tag). You'd like to send Diluc "I want you to know that I'm never leaving." From sexy thief reader. Got it!
*~Notes: bitter chocolate milk does not sound pleasant but hey what's wrong with trying new things >:)))
Would recommend reading this before continuing as it will provide some context though it is not required.
*~Warnings: Fighting (no blood mentioned), villain au, cult behaviors
Diluc held onto your hair tightly, flipping his sword in his hand to slice you in half. With no hesitation you cut at your hair, chopping some of it off and nicking his fingers.
He hissed in pain, faltering for a split moment which was enough for you to slip away in a blue flicker, reappearing behind him and bashing his head with the hilt of your daggers.
You froze as the red-head dropped to the ground.
"Shit." You hissed.
Gingerly, you poked the unconscious form of the Darknight Hero. He didn't budge, but he was still breathing. Just in case he was attempting to fake you out.
Keeping him in your peripheral, you scanned the surrounding area. You frowned, "Goddamnit, of course you had to follow me all the way out here..." You tapped your foot, contemplating the right course of action, "It'd take a while for someone to find you... ugh-"
A mitachurl approached, sensing your distress. Its eyes flickered between you and the unconscious Diluc.
You smiled sheepishly, "Could you help me... uh... drag him back to my little camp?"
The mitachurl followed your orders, picking Diluc up as you led them to your temporary camp in the depths of Brightcrown Canyon.
You nodded your thanks to the mitachurl as they set the man down on your bed made of spare cloth. As the mitachurl left you stared down at the red-head now on your "bed", unconscious.
With a heavy sigh, you plopped down next to him to check for any serious damage and contemplated your next course of action.
You could keep him here, wait until he wakes up, and possibly demand compensation from him. Or be nice and inform him of what happened, though that sounded much harder.
Or, you could leave. Let him wake up in a safe(ish) environment, let him go back to Mondstadt and tell everyone how you didn't kill him when you had the opportunity to.
Though, really, where would that get you? Those idiots are too far gone in their made-up fantasy to believe any scrap of truth you presented to them.
You sighed and zoned back in on checking up on Diluc after realizing you hadn't been paying much attention to the task.
Your breath caught in your throat as his bright red eyes were now open and staring directly at you.
Fuck-
You unsheathed your weapon and pointed it directly at him though he barely flinched.
"You could've killed me back there," His voice held a strong front, but it was quiet. As though he didn't want to break the air of tension between him and your blade, "Wh..." He frowned, furrowing his eyebrows, "Why didn't you?"
You blinked and snarled down at him, "Know your place, I'm the one with a knife to your throat-"
"And will you have the guts to kill me this time? Or was it not guts, but care? Did you care?" His eyes portrayed no fear, merely a hunger.
You couldn't answer him, your hands twitched but not in bloodthirst.
You grit your teeth together, "You're ungrateful," You snarled, "All of you, are so ungrateful."
He said nothing as your blade hovered over his neck, his eyes dug into your soul, breaking you down into bits and crumbs. He undid you as tears threatened your eyes because both he and you knew you wouldn't plunge it into his throat.
You huffed, forcing the tears back in favor of hot anger overwhelming your chest, "The past two years were a complete waste," You threw the weapon aside, standing up with your nails digging into the palms of your hands, "And for what. Some stupid god that you've never even seen."
Diluc was silent for a moment, sitting up in the pathetic excuse for a bed, " I believe I have met them." You whipped around and came face-to-face with the red-head. His fiery orbs stared into your own with so many emotions that the rest of his face didn't reflect on, "Your grace."
You pushed your hand against his forehead, pushing him away from you, "Don't call me that. Never compare me to the god you tried to kill me for. No matter what the truth may be, I don't want your titles."
"Then..." His eyebrows furrowed, his carefully crafted defense cracking, "Do you want me to call you by name?"
You narrowed your eyes at the man, before sighing, "Not like there's any records of me here, and there's nothing else I want you to call me so..." You held your gloved hand out, your characteristically smug smile adorning your face. In your eyes there was a subtle glint of companionship, "The name's Y/n. It was nice to beat you, Diluc." You chuckled.
He blinked down at your hand, looked up to your eyes, and something within his calm red orbs shifted. They turned wild, passionate. The vision attached to him glowed the same color as he shook your hand and you unknowingly made Diluc your closest acolyte.
You didn't know... Diluc knew you didn't know but that didn't stop his heart from racing. Knowing the divine one's name... it was a greater honor that most of the archons didn't even possess.
With that he swore to protect you at all costs. His Darknight duties transferred from the treasonous Mondstadt to you. He'd find you in the middle of the night with a single call of your name.
No matter where in the wide lands of Teyvat you may be, when he said your name loud and true you heard it clearer than the whispers of prayers in your ears. (Prayers you had no interest in hearing.) You knew where he was immediately and could teleport to his location with no difficulty
The first time it had happened, it was on Stormbearer Mountains. You were shocked at the instant notice and how easy it was to teleport. You had assumed he was dying or something and needed your help...
but no.
He was just sitting on the edge of the cliff, his legs dangling down and his back facing you. It'd be easy to take his life, he was practically asking you to, but you didn't. Just like last time you clung onto your scraps of humanity and all the same throwing it away.
You sat by Diluc, the wind rustling your large hat and his bright red hair.
He could tell the whole world who you really were. A word from him, the ever serious ex-knight, would be enough for someone to investigate. But could you really kill him? Get rid of the threat? He could make you a god, the one thing you truly hated in this world full of love.
In the end, nightly meetings, and eventually meetings during the day as well, occurred often. The two of you growing closer and closer, him settling into the consort role you hadn't fully recognized. Still, he took care of you like one anyways.
Food, baths, a bed to sleep in until morning, a warm body to keep the cold away anytime and anywhere.
You could play the role of human imposter and he a heretic until the charade was blown to pieces.
Until then, and even after you're forced to face reality, he'll stay by your side. Happy to be your consort as long as you will have him, as long as he will breathe.
this hurts as much as it's interesting

You awoke surrounded by fog, barely able to see your surroundings. For a second, you thought you were dead. That is until the pain kicked back in, stabbing your entire body with knives of pain.
You shakily attempted to lift yourself up, failing as you plopped back on the ground. Your entire body was shaking and tears threatened to fall down your face again.
A wet nose nudged your face, you whined and flinched back. You warily opened your eyes to find a rifthound whelp nuzzling your face.
You flinched away from it, a small scream exiting your throat. You curled in on yourself as much as you could without your ribs screaming out in pain, your arms covering your head.
The little whelp whined and nudged your arms softly. You shook in fear, and that only doubled when you heard a larger rifthound approach.
The whelp moved around in a distressed circle, whining as the adult rifthound approached. The adult rifthound poked your arms with it's nose. Gently moving your arms away from your face to look at your distressed expression, stars falling from your eyes.
The adult whined and moved to lay down beside you. It looked at the whelp and urged it away.
While the whelp went to do whatever the adult had told it to do, the adult laid it's head next to yours.
Fearfully and cautiously you stared into it's eyes, shaking from head to toe. Sympathy seemed to reflect in it's glowing purple eyes as it whined. Carefully, it scooted closer to you and it was... surprisingly warm.
Still you were afraid but... what could you do if it attacked you? You wouldn't be able to do anything... just accept your death. It'd probably be less painful than... a shiver wracked your body, Liyue.
The whelp came back, barking to announce it's return, and the rifthound lifted it's head. You could hear multiple footsteps behind the whelp, making you shake at what the monters will do to you.
You shut your eyes tightly, willing yourself to just pretend this wasn't happening.
Then a gentle hand rested on your head.
Despite the hand having no ill intent in it, you still flinched back, rolling away as the memories of how harshly they grabbed your hair resurfaced.
The distinct sound of a worried hilichurl whined. You opened your eyes in shock and saw that you were surrounded by multiple regular hilichurls, and a mitachurl with it's electro axe in hand.
Out of your mouth tumbled distressed noises, you tried to form sentences, questioning them, but you couldn't.
Your mouth is empty. Your tongue is gone.
Tears fell down your face faster than you could even register. Pathetically, you gripped the grass and buried your face into the back of your hands. Your body shook with fear and sobs.
Carefully, the mitachurl approached you. Gently petting your head. You didn't do anything. You aready resigned yourself to your inevitable fate to be beaten to death by something in this cruel world.
But instead, the mitachurl placed down it's weapon and carefully picked you up in it's hands. Your wounds were barely irritated with it's gentle treatment, but you still shook in fear.
The mitachurl carried you back to the hilichurl camp, the other hilichurls and the rifthounds followed.
It wasn't that far of a walk, and when the rest of the hilichurls in the camp saw you they cheered.
Like how the people in Liyue cheered as Ningguang held up your tongue.
You're going to die. You had no doubt about it. They were going to kill you and parade your head around on a pike. The mitachirl could feel you shake in it's arms and made a small distresed noise. It set you down in the main hut on a bed of straw. You couldn't hold yourself up so you were carefully laid down.
Immediately, you were provided with warm cloth, food, and water. You could hardly register it but all you knew was that you could finally eat. You inhaled the food and water and didn't move as the hilichurls set the cloth on you. They made happy noises as you enjoyed the goods they provided you.
Oddly, your wounds were closed up. Not exactly healed as they still hurt like hell and you could barely move your limbs, but closed. Blood wasn't spilling out of you like a waterfall anymore and you weren't dead.
But you were acutely aware of how you couldn't taste anything. You had to chew slowly to get used to eating. You had to physically tilt your head to move the food around because your tongue wasn't there to guide it. Swallowing was a chore, you had to angle your head awkwardly to get the food down, which forced you to take your time so you didn't choke.
Frustrated stars fell from your eyes because you were so fucking tired. You were so sick of everything. Everything in this world hated you, all those you loved wanted to gut you alive and almost did. Now you were suffering the consequences of merely existing. You just wanted to rest and be happy for a while. Not even happy! You just didn't want to be chased all over Teyvat like some criminal! You didn't do anything!
And now you couldn't even say any of this out loud!
You hiccuped, sobbing, unable to eat anymore of the food offered to you by the hilichurls. They worridly tried to comfort you with their native tongue but you barely understood any of it.
Suddenly, a hilichurl from outside the hut said something to the mitachurl by your side.
They shared a few words before the hilichurl allowed someone in.
A hydro abyss mage.
You eyes widened and you tried to back up but failed miserably. The mitachurl made a distressed noise and carefully helped you sit up, supporting you since you couldn't sit up on your own.
"Your excellency," The abyss mage from within it's bubble, bowed.
You tried to ask What do you want? But failed miserably and ended up spitting out jumbled words, coughing and craddling your stomach.
The abyss mage approached you, panicked and worried, "Oh no, can you tell us what happened your grace? Who did this to you?"
Your bottom lip trembled and tears fell down in waves. You wiped them from your face and buried your face in your hands. You shook your head violently, frustrated at the world.
I can't! You wanted to scream, I can't tell you!
Soothingly, one of the hilichurls patted your shoulder. Another came beside you and offered you a flower.
You looked at it as though it was a knife the same knife used to cut your tongue-
Your eyes glanced to the hilichurl, to the flower, back to the hilichurl, back to flower, until finally, you took it, and held it close to your chest.
Thank you, you tried. But you didn't have a tongue to make the "th" sound.
You looked back at the abyss mage, it was still waiting for you to answer.
Shakily, your entire form quivering, you attempted to open your mouth. It wouldn't open. You tried but it wouldn't. Your muscles froze and outright refused to let your jaw unlock. Immediately, you silently panicked over not having control over your jaw.
But you supposed this was a good thing. They could easily hurt you again and you wouldn't be able to stop it-
"Your grace?" The abyss mage tilted it's head worriedly.
You frowned, made an X with your fingers and held it to your lips.
It seemed they all understood that as saddened noises and whimpers came from the hilichurls, rifthounds, and the abyss mage.
"You're mute?" The abyss mage asked, though you're sure it already knew the answer.
You hesitated but nodded.
"I see." The abyss mage sighed, "I'm afraid we don't have any way to communicate other than through motions then." The abyss mage carefully went closer to you, "Can you show me where it hurts? I'm not the best of healers but I can help you."
You pointed to your ribs first, then your face, chest, arms, legs... everywhere hurt.
But you didn't point to your mouth, not specifically. No matter what you couldn't- wouldn't- let anyone see the inside of your mouth. Not after it was forced open, you couldn't struggle, scream, or breathe-
The hydro abyss mage lowered his shield, an odd sight for you, and gently touched your wounds. Healing your aching body.
Eventually, you had fallen asleep. The stress, your aching body, and the soothing healing of the abyss mage was eventually too much for you to handle.
It was the safest and most comfortable rest you'd had in ages.

"Man, I thought an island like this would have something intresing going on," The ginger held a gloved hand to his chin, pouting, "But there's been nothing..."
He trailed off, his blue eyes catching onto a large hilichurl camp. Nothing he'd ever seen before. At most there was maybe ten hilichurls in a camp, but here there was over fifty. Not to mention at least ten abyss mages and rifthounds.
"Rifthounds with hilichurls?" He raised an eyebrow, a grin etching onto his face, "Now this," He stretched his arms, drawing his hydro swords, "Is what a challenge looks like."
~~
When you heard the sound of fighting, rifthounds growling, hilichurls and abyss mages shouting, you immediately froze.
They found me, You thought, tears already threatening to fall at the thought, what are they gonna take next?
Are they going to hurt the camp?
Fuck that. You ignored your shaking limbs and forced your tired and injured body to get up. You wildly ran to the camp, urging the rifthounds that were with you to hurry ahead of you. Your body was still injured and running like this made all of your limbs scream in pain but you ignored it for now.
These hilichurls, abyss mages, rifthounds, they were the first beings in Teyvat to show you kindness. They comforted and healed you while the rest of the world spat on you and cheered while you bled.
Like. Hell. You'd let those damned archons hurt those that showed you love in this cruel world.
You'd tear this damn world apart if you had to, they wouldn't live to gloat about any victory.
When you reached the camp, you were heaving and aching but you refused to rest. The rifthounds, hilichurls, and abyss mages in the camp surrounded a ginger-haired fatui, his hydro daggars flickered with electro. A mad grin twitched onto his lips and he moved to-
The thunder clapped with your anger, your face twisting into a sneer as the world seemed paused to gaze at you and your godly aura.
Immediately, the electro in his swords dissipated, and the shadow of a little boy flickered onto his face. It was gone faster than it came as he stared at you in shock. You carefully treaded over to him, glaring at him the entire way, daring him to move his weapons.
Two rifthounds came beside you, guiding your hurting body over to him. You came face to face with him, despite the worried noises of those in the camp.
You glared at him, an odd golden gold in your eyes. You pointed at his weapons and made cutting motion with your hands.
Tartaglia blinked at you, confused. He chuckled, but put his weapons away.
Is this the imposter? He wondered, Huh, those in Liyue said they had killed them. They certaintly look like they've taken quite the beating but they have all of these monsters in their camp acting peacful for them.
"Tartaglia," a hydro abyss mage said, "What are you doing here?"
"Looking for a fight as always!" Childe grinned, brushing off how imposing your aura was, "But it seems I've found something more interesting. Which, if it's more intresting than fighting to me, then it's something very important."
His eyes were trained on you, the grin on his face eager to dig into your soul and figure out all your secrets. You knew the games he played.
"Are you the imposter Teyvat has been talking about?" He tilted his head, "But they all said you were dead. Died in Liyue Harbor." His smile was fake, harboring the cold of Snezhnaya.
He saw something shift in your eyes and his blue orbs glittered at the opportunity.
"So you are the imposter-?"
"Tartaglia you will not." The abyss mage cut him off. The rifthounds growled and the mitachurls readied their axes, "Surely, you'd understand that this is our true god. The abyss can tell, this is our god and if you cannot understand that," More monsters, including ruin sentinels, appeared from seemingly nowhere, "We'll wipe you out."
Childe's grin grew impossibly wider, "I like the challenge," He giggled, even in the most hopeless situation, "But the entirety of Teyvat said this was an imposter, and yet on this insignificant island a few monsters decide they're the real deal?" He scoffed, "It's a bit fishy don't you think."
His grin dissipated, his blue eyes always filled with a thrill turned cold and serious, "You'll think twice about impersonating our god."
Electro sparked around Childe and you staggered back. Not again not again not again. Don't touch them don't touch them don't-
Childe's foul legacy form appeared in a flash of electro, the rifthounds barked and snarled. The mitachurls and hilichurls shouted, their weapons ready to attack.
"Your grace, get back-" You pushed past the abyss mages and met with Foul Legacy Childe.
Even if you died, you'd do anything to make sure these monsters - your true friends - stayed safe. Besides, in this world that gave you nothing but wounds and trauma, why would you want to stay?
Foul Legacy, with his long spear, readied himself to deal a final blow to you. Quick, painless, merciful.
You readied yourself to channel whatever you could grasp of your godly abilities. You learned in your time with the hilichurls that your powers reawakened with the amount of worshippers that accepted you. In your new form.
Right now, you'd do anything to save your friends.
But Foul Legacy didn't raise his weapon threateningly at you. Instead, he fell to his knees before you. It was then that you realized how much you were shaking, how stars threatened to fall down your cheeks.
Foul Legacy bowed before you, his distorted voice muttered, "It doesn't hurt... my god, your excellency, I'm so sorry for thinking you were an imposter I'm-"
Relieved tears fell down your cheeks and you couldn't help but smile. A breathless laugh escaped past your lips and you rested your hand on Childe's head. The gratitude in your eyes for not attacking you or your friends. It caused his head to swirl with emotions he never expected to feel in Foul Legacy form.
His eyes met your eyes, flecks of gold glowing in your eyes. Your tears were stars falling down your cheeks. The world seemed to create a crown of sunlight around your head, framing you beautifully.
"The abyss knows our god, Childe." The abyss mage said, "We've heard snippets of what has happened to our god before they came here, but unfortunately we don't know the full story. Could you please tell us?"
Childe tilted his head, "Their excellency has not told you?"
"I'm afraid they're mute." The abyss mage responded.
You nodded, making an X with your fingers and putting it over your mouth.
Foul Legacy Child whined, "Well, from what I've been told they were beaten to death in Liyue harbor by the Liyue Qixing and the Knights of Favonius from Mondstat. But obviously they're not dead." Childe looked back to you, "Was that really you?"
You nodded, a shiver wracking your body at the memories.
Suddenly Childe perked up and carefully grabbed your hands in his, "Your grace! Come with me to Snezhnaya! You'll be safe there with the Tsaritsa! Nobody will ever hurt you again, you'll have the protection of the entire Fatui. And with your help, we can surely get revenge on the gods!"

Child of Fire, Raised in Ice

There was no separating you and your mama. Ever since the day she had found you in the snow, held you with such tenderness. Despite being considered a "big kid", you still imprinted onto her like you were a young child. Growing by her side, soon enough in your pre-teen years.
Still, you stuck by her side. No matter how old you got.
This was a side of Teyvat you had never dreamed of seeing. Each of the harbingers, in all their horror and glory, and a new ideal against the gods. Signora, who you thought was so bad and evil, was now your hero.
Was this brainwashing? Were you too young and naïve to understand fully what was happening? Maybe, but it didn't matter. All that mattered was that you were safe. Signora was safe.
All the harbingers found it odd, Signora's behavior. How she didn't ask for anything from you in return, and yet your young mind already had an understand of give and take - of goods and services - was eager to please her.
"I can help!" "Do you need me to help?" A smaller hand holding onto her coat, you were basically her shadow. But you were desperate to be helpful.
Signora was scared to let you go alone, despite your exalted status, there were those that would hurt you to spite her, and those with a hatred for gods that extended beyond reason. Despite her insistence she had no earthly attachments to you - that this was merely business - she would never be able to forgive herself if something happened to you.
But she wouldn't be by your side forever. So slowly but surely, she helped you grow. To no longer rely so heavily on her.
Running errands to Childe first, who always had a soft spot for kids. He became your friend quickly, your brother. A familiar and friendly face to go to when you didn't have Signora. Next was Arlecchino, brash and sadistic, but had a calm façade. You grew close with her at a slower rate, but eventually caught yourself growing fonder of her. Asking to visit the orphanage, making care packages for the kids, playing with those your own age.
Signora watched you grow physically and mentally with a fond smile. One that no one had seen in centuries.
You became quite famous in the Zapolyarny palace quite quickly. Going from being always a step behind Signora, to always a step ahead of her. Sometimes even running ahead to greet someone you knew - such as flinging yourself into Capitano who merely gently patted your head. Or excitedly shouting something to Pierro, always eager to see his nod of approval when you've done something worthy. You'd always seen Signora give reports to him, so you attempted to keep your conversations the same as that. You failed miserably, but it was funny to see you talk so formally and informally at the same time and tacking "sir" onto the end of all of your sentences. Until one day he finally caved and told you to just call him Pierro.
Despite your image of Signora changing drastically from what you used to think of her, Dottore never really changed in your mind. His smile freaked you out, almost like if you got too close he'd snatch you up and tear you apart. Like the magic tricks you'd see of people being torn apart, but you didn't think he'd be able to - or want - to fix you.
You thought your wariness was warranted. Which caught the attention of The Damsel.
Oddly, you were never afraid of Pierro. He reminded you of the nice old men that were from your old home, and despite everything, when you got close to him, he smelled like one of your male family members. He reminded you of home.
However The Damsel was the opposite. She smelled of nothing but the ice cold tundra, she appeared sickly, weak, but her voice was powerful.
Her first words to you were, "You think the Doctor is so frightening? What has he done to you so far?"
You couldn't see her eyes, but her voice sounded as though she was awaiting a grand story, an utterly horrid story, like she wanted to tear you apart and see the deepest and darkest parts of you.
"He-he's scary looking," You pouted, distressed.
A dainty giggle danced in the air, and the sound made you relaxed against your better judgement.
"Am I scary looking?" She leaned down a bit, the height difference not being that much, but it felt like she was towering over you.
You blinked, throat tightening and mouth flapping open and closed. You felt Signora's hand touch your upper arm before the words tumbled out of your mouth, "A wendigo." You realized what you just said and fumbled to fix your mistake, "A pretty wendigo! Wait-! Uh-!"
Even Signora snickered at the comment. The Damsel giggled, "Perhaps you're not far off from the mark. Call me Columbina. A child of Signora's is a child I shall protect."
Suddenly, Dottore didn't seem as scary anymore.
You were slowly but surely becoming more and more independent as the months passed, almost seeming like you were a mini-harbinger with how often you hung around them. Everyone was still aware of your "godhood" but that was overshadowed with over half a year of you being at the palace. Over half a year after Signora had saved you.
"Fair Lady, your grace." One of Signora's personal servants entered Signora's study, where the two of you were sorting through important paperwork and writing reports to officials, townsfolk, and the Tsartisa herself.
Signora nodded for her to speak.
"The Tsaritsa has requested their grace's presence."
Those words sent a shiver up your spine, you glanced nervously at Signora but her face was completely neutral.
"Thank you, we'll be on our way immediately." Signora stood from her chair and the servant scurried off.
"Signora-"
"You'll be okay." Her smile was so uncharacteristically warm. A smile that melted away the snow, a smile that saved you when you were dying in the cold.
You opened your mouth to say something doubtful, to argue or protest, but you didn't, "...okay..."
She grabbed your hand in hers, and it was warm, and she led you to the Tsaritsa. To the heart of the palace, a place you had never been.
Signora had told you a handful of times that the Tsarist was aware of your presence in the palace and condoned it. That when you had passed out in her arms after she had saved you, the Tsaritsa herself had made sure you had healed at your bedside.
You didn't ask why, throat closed up and mouth dry. You never questioned why. Signora was safe, she'd tell you all you needed to know, and what you didn't need to know... was fine by you.
"Here," Signora slipped her hand out of yours, pushing you forwards towards a staggeringly tall door, "I will be right here-"
"Why can't you come with me?" You looked up at her with wide fearful eyes, barely managing a shaky breath in and out.
Signora's eyes softened, a sight you and one other lost to the snow has seen, her hand on your shoulder tightened and she lowered herself to your level, "The Tsaritsa has not requested me, remember we are living in her palace, in her land. She would never put you in danger, and neither would I." She cupped your face and lifted your wandering eyes to hers, "You believe me, right?"
You swallowed the lump in your throat and nodded.
She patted your cheek, "Good." A rare moment of fondness, she pressed her lips to your forehead softly, "Now go, don't keep her Majesty waiting too long."
You nodded, Signora's gentle and warm touch leaving your form. The cold surrounded you as you pressed your palm to the handle of the door. The cold spread throughout your veins, freezing your lungs and heart.
You used all your might to push the heavy door open, squeezing past it. It shut with a thud behind you.
You kept your eyes on the ground, barely wandering to fully take in the room.
You could feel her Majesty's presence, but you'd never formally met her before. How were you supposed to greet her? Were you supposed to greet her? What titles should you use? She was far scarier than any of the harbingers, you couldn't tell if your limbs were shaking from the cold or pure fear.
"Raise your head, child." A deep, baritone voice came from the throne, jostling you out of your frozen state.
You followed her command immediately, raising your head to meet her eyes- were covered. Her eyes were covered.
Her height was staggering as well, she must've towered over everyone in the palace including the harbingers. Her throne was completely made out of ice too, everything in the room as well. If you weren't careful, you'd slip and fall.
On her stoic face, the ghost of a smile played at her lips.
She stood from her throne, a grand and intricate dress falling gracefully behind her as she made her for you.
You could feel each step in your chest, the dread building up. You bit your tongue to stop tears from welling in your eyes.
She gracefully swooped into a kneel and grabbed your hand with surprising gentleness. Her hand, despite bearing a glove, was ice cold and pulsated with power.
It made you dizzy, the pure cryo energy in one human body and the power of three gnosis in her possession.
"It's an honor to formally meet you, your grace." Her deep voice reverberated in your head.
You stumbled on your words, "Y-y-y-you too your majesty." You squeaked.
She chuckled, "No need to be so formal, you've lived in my palace for quite some time now, haven't you. I know you well."
"You've been... watching..?" The question slowly died on your throat as you realized the absurdity of it. You were in her palace, her home territory. Of course she'd be watching you.
"I have. Everything that goes on in my home I am aware of. Not only in the palace, but in the whole of Snezhnaya." She answered with a smile, one that seemed oddly sinister, "There are many things I wish to tell you, many questions I believe you have. Those will all be answered in due time, you are still far too young for all of these dealings." Her hand slipped away from yours and you felt the blood flow resume - you hadn't even noticed it had slowed.
"First," An intricate box materialized itself in her hand, the same way the Traveler's weapon would appear and disappear on command, "I want you to know, your grace, that these are yours." She opened the box and you gasped, nearly tripping on the ice in your shock, "I have gathered two of the other archons' gnosis as well as my own, and soon to be all seven, all to give to you. I understand that this must be overwhelming which is why I don't expect you to accept or take them." Her smile grew and you swore you saw fangs peak out, "I merely want you to know that these are here for you, all you must do is call for them and they shall be yours."
"Why-?" You choked out, shock grasping at your throat, "You've worked so hard-"
"That is something that you must find out on your own." She closed the box, her smile ever present, "Snezhnaya has no room for tears and childhood, you've had to grow up faster than you could've ever imagined. I will give you some more time, but when you feel that spark of childhood extinguish, come to me."
"H-h-" The world spun, "H-How will I know?"
"You just will." The box disappeared from her hands, and in the same place Signora had left a warm and gentle kiss on your forehead, The Tsaritsa had done the same, chasing away whatever warmth lay on or underneath your skin. "Goodbye, child, it was wonderful meeting you."
You nodded, "You as well."
You scurried out the door, and just as she had promised; Signora was there.
Signora noticed the difference your meeting with the Tsaritsa had made immediately. You were shaken, your eyes had the beginnings of the frozen tundra in them.
Signora knew she wouldn't be able to preserve the warmth of your innocence and childhood forever, and it seems the threads of the Tsaritsa's grand plan were making themselves seen.
However, you still melted into her touch, smiling so widely when you saw her. Even with your ever-growing independence, you made sure to always stick next to her. You were never out of her sight, and that childish smile still remained when you saw her, or Childe, or Capitano, Pulcinella, Pierro, even Arlecchino, Columbina and Dottore got to see your childish smile. You were happy, and that was all Signora could ask for.
"Signora! Signora!" Your childish voice resounded through the halls.
"Yes, yes I'm right here dear, what is it?"
"Look!" You held out your hands to her, they were cupped together and on top of them rested a pyro moth.
Signora's eyes widened in shock, "Where did this come from?" There was no way you'd know these belonged to her, she had only ever used her cryo powers around you. Except-
"I don't know! It just kinda showed up, I think it likes me!" You smiled ear-to-ear, "It kinda reminds me of you, it's the same warmth I felt when you found me, you know?"
Signora hummed, her gloved hand coming up to lightly touch the wing of the moth, "I see." She smiled warmly, "Well, since it likes you so much, make sure to take good care of it."
You nodded enthusiastically.
Signora seemed to have been unaware of how close she had gotten to you. She knew her moth only had one objective: to watch over you.
Perhaps it was a good thing.
-
"What do you mean?!" You screeched, the moth that had shown up just a few days before fluttering distressed at your shoulder, "You're going away?" You whined, clutching onto her dress, "Why are you just telling me-?"
"(Y/n)." You froze at the use of your name, "You are still aware of the fact that I am a harbinger, this was going to happen eventually, I have a duty to the Tsaritsa and Snezhnaya. I must go, you know this. Everything has been set up, all that's left is for me to grab the gnosis and come right back. You understand."
It wasn't a question, and it wasn't a statement you would argue. You nodded miserably, stray tears falling down your cheeks.
Signora sighed, "Please don't cry." Her hands cupped your face and wiped away the fallen tears, "The other Fatui have taken care of most of the work, it will be quick and I'll come right back. You can be a big kid for a month can't you?" She smiled encouragingly
You sniffled and nodded, "I- I think so."
"Good, thank you, (Y/n). And if you don't think you can be a big kid there's always Childe and Columbina and the other harbingers." Signora smiled, "You can visit the orphanage with Arlecchino, do whatever you want. So long as you stay safe and keep Little Ayin with you. Understand?"
"Yes Signora!" You saluted like one of the Fatui underlings, Little Ayin fluttering encouragingly around you.
"Good!" She patted your head, "Now come on, you can follow me to the boat but you can't come with me."
You grinned, holding her hand and leading the way to the front doors of the palace, "Don't worry! One day I'll become a harbinger and be able to come with you to all of your missions!"
"Really? Will you be the 12th harbinger?" Signora asked ammused.
"Nope! I'll be first!"
"And what of Pierro?"
"He'll be retired. He already has back problems."
Signora snorted, "Don't be saying things like that so boldly, you might make an enemy of Pierro." She ruffled your hair playfully.
It didn't take long enough to reach the boat. You squeezed her hand, almost silently begging her to not go.
"I'll see you soon, (Y/n)." Signora smiled.
You flung yourself into her arms, "See you soon!" You pulled back with a grin, barely managing to hold back the tears.
Signora softly smiled, grasping your hands in hers. You felt her place a solid and cold object in your hands. She closed your hands together and patted them, "I'll be back in a month. Make sure not to cause the others too much grief."
You grinned, "No promises!"
She nodded and pulled away, you stopped yourself from chasing her warmth. She boarded the ship and you watched as they prepared for travel. You stood there the entire time as they prepared to leave, and then followed the boat as far as you could until they were too far at sea. Not for a second did you stop waving at Signora until the boat was out of view. Your hand fell to your side slowly but definitively.
"(Y/n)."
You swallowed down the tears and turned to grin at Arlecchino, "Yes. We should go home."
Arlecchino nodded, walking beside you.
You kept your hand next to Little Ayin, the other grasping whatever item Signora had entrusted to you.
"You look miserable." Arlecchino commented, "Come with me to the orphanage, it's been a while since your last visit."
You glanced up at her, and nodded, smiling softly, "Sure. Just- once we get there do you think I could have a moment to myself?"
Arlecchino gave you an undecipherable look, "Of course, (Y/n)."
Once at the orphanage, all the kids who you had grown close to over the past year swarmed you.
But just as she had promised, you were allowed a moment to yourself alone.
You took the item from your pocket and inspected it.
It was a locket. You stared at it, dumbfounded, your confusion doubling at the clearly Mondstadt design of the locket.
You opened the locket and a folded piece of paper fell out. However the picture in the locket was... Signora? And a man?
"Who..." You diverted your attention to the small piece of paper, unfolding it to read the message, "Dear (Y/n), I'm sorry for never having the strength to explain to you in person. Ask Pierro about the locket. I shall tell you more once I am back. -Signora"
You stared dumbfounded at the piece of paper and locket you now had in your hands. Was this even Signora? Maybe it was a family member of hers? But why would she give this to you-?
"(Y/n)?" There was a knock on the door, "The children are getting impatient."
"Oops! Coming!" You turned around and rushed through the door, past Arlecchino.
Immediately a genuine smile tugged at your lips as you spend the day at the orphanage, with those you could almost call your family.
-
You couldn't sleep in the orphanage. You and the kids had played for hours on end, a distraction from Signora's absence. However you refused to sleep there. No matter how inconvenient or spoiled and bratty you sounded.
Thankfully, after some pushing, Arlecchino relented and took you back to the palace even though it was well after midnight.
Being in an orphanage and staying there after Signora had left... you couldn't do it. Not after you had been ripped away from your other family.
"You know, I'm starting to really hate agreeing to babysitting duty." Arlecchino huffed, grimacing.
You snickered, "Did Signora ask you to babysit me?"
She sighed, "Not explicitly, but she did enough passive aggressive hints for me to get the message."
You giggled at the mental image, "Well you won't have to worry about me tomorrow, I have plans in mind to bother another Fatui member." You grinned sadistically, a grin you've seen on Arlecchino before.
"May the Tsaritsa help their soul then."
-
You hunted down Pierro as quickly as you could the next day, following him around like a lost duck.
"Is there something you need?" He asked gruffly.
"Yes, but it'd take up a lot of your time."
He sighed, "Is it important?"
"Yes." You stared up at him with wide, child-like, yet gravely serious eyes.
His visible eye searched yours for a moment, as if noticing something that wasn't there before. Maybe there was.
Pierro nodded, "Alright then, come with me."
He turned and briskly walked towards his office, you scurried after him, gently holding onto his coat so you could keep up with him.
The locket and note were held in your pocket, and Little Ayin was snuggled against your neck comfortably. Signora was still, in a way, with you. She'd come back in a month, and you'd be here waiting for her. You'd be able to ask all the questions you want about the locket and the couple in it.
He opened the door to his office and held the door open to allow you inside, "Go ahead and have a seat." He shut the door and sat opposite of you. With a rough sigh, he said, "So, what is it that you need to tell me?"
You pulled the note and locket out of your pocket, laying it on the table in front of you.
"Signora gave this to me before she had left." You looked up at him, searching his expression.
For a moment, confusion and shock made his eyebrows furrow, before they became neutral. Almost as though he had expected this.
"I see." She gently grabbed the note and read it, nodding to himself.
Opening the locket, he turned it so it faced you, the couple staring at you. The woman's smile one you had seen before.
"This was 500 years ago. The woman is Signora, and the man beside her was her husband, Rostam."
"Husband?" You sputtered, Little Ayin resting on your shoulder solemnly, "She has... why did she never tell me?"
"Because he is no longer with us." Pierro said, his eyes meeting your steadily, like he was telling a story that had already been finished. "He was once a Knight of Favonius, and after the calamity of Khaenri’ah the Knights were tasked with purging the monsters that had emerged. Here, Rostam had died. Signora had been at the Akademiya in Sumeru studying while he had died, and when she returned to find him dead she went insane. Swearing to burn away the world and cleanse it."
You remained silent, staring at the picture of such a happy couple. Unsure of what you should be feeling.
"I believe," He said carefully, but retaining all the power in his voice, "That she hesitated on telling you because of how much it hurt her. I never expected her to tell you at all." His hand gently came up to pat the top of your head, and you didn't realize all the tears that were falling onto your lap. "Rostam was Signora's family. The only one she had. I believe she sees you the same way now."
You screwed your eyes shut and curled in on yourself, sobbing into your hands.
"I-I want her back!" You wailed, "I don't- don't want her leaving." You hiccupped, "I miss my old family, she's-she's all I have."
"She'll return." Pierro said so assuredly that you couldn't help but believe him, "You must have faith in her. She's captured two gnosis successfully. She will return with one more. Trust me when I say this is just as painful for her as it is you."
You nodded, sniffling. Reminding yourself over and over that she would return.
-
The first night on the ship, Signora had cried. She cried like she had just lost someone, cried like her first night in the Akademiya. Like she was alone for the first time in a long time.
It was the longest and hardest month she'd had in centuries. It was foolish - stupid of her to get so close to you. She feared that history had a habit of repeating itself, and she was petrified for the latter half of her history repeating.
But you were in the Zapolyarny Palace, under the protection of the Tsaritsa and the harbingers. T here was no way you would be hurt while under Her Majesty's care.
But her subordinates could see her stress, how she was snappier and any semblance of leniency she had shown in their homeland had evaporated. She chalked it up to this being an important mission, the most important one since last year when she and Childe obtained the Geo Gnosis. Of course, any leniency allowed by her could put the whole mission in jeopardy.
She'd get this mission finished with soon. At this point all that was left was to take the damn thing and go home.
-
"Filthy rats... all of you!"
She was desperate, insane, a witch.
All the heartbreak she went through after she lost Rostam, the pain and fear you felt when you awoke in this world to never see your family again, you would not feel it again. She had to go back to Snezhnaya, she had to go back to you-!
In the end, she did make it back to Snezhnaya. In a casket.
-
"Pierro! Pierro! She's here! She's here!" You squealed, bounding out of the palace.
"(Y/n)..." You were too excited to notice his odd tone, "Slow down."
From the day he had told you of Signora's past, you kept the locket around your neck. Even if you never knew Rostam, if he made Signora happy then he had your approval.
"Come on, Little Ayin! Why are you so slow?" You gently but hurriedly scooped the strangely forlorn fire moth into your hands. "I thought you'd be more excited for Signora's return." You giggled, running through the snow even before the sun had begun to rise, Pierro following slowly behind.
You waited at the dock, "How long will it take for them to be here?" You questioned Pierro, staring up at him with wide and excited eyes.
Pierro watched the child-like nature flutter with hope in your eyes. He sighed, "The report said they'd be here by sunrise."
"How long until sunrise?" You bounced on your tippy-toes, stretching your neck to see as far out into the ocean as you could.
"Far too long, child, it's 3 in the morning." He patted your shoulder hardily, "And you've been up since midnight."
"I just can't wait!" You grinned.
Oh how Pierro was dreading the morning sun.
-
Quite a few Fatui were gathered around the docks, and of course, you were the first to spot the boat carrying Signora.
"There! That's her! That's her!" You screeched, pointing at the boat.
But no one cheered.
You didn't think to question it, Pierro having to hold you back from sprinting up the plank laid down from the boat to the dock.
You saw ginger hair and a red scarf at the top of the plank.
"Childe? What's he-?"
You felt your heart drop to your feet and then somehow tumbling even further away from your grasp. Your stomach churned and twisted. You wanted to throw up and cry out your insides.
Childe didn't smile at you when his eyes met you, as he led a group of people carrying a human-sized box off of the ship.
You broke away from Pierro's grasp, hitting his hand away from you when he reached for you.
"(Y/n)-!" He barked after you sternly.
"Childe!" You crashed into his front, holding onto the front of his shirt even though he towered above you, "Where is she?"
His eyes somehow managed to look even more dead, hope chased away long ago.
Fear grappled your heart, stopping it's beating entirely. You shook him, your voice raising dangerously, "Where is she Tartaglia!"
He shakily inhaled, pity in his dark blue orbs, an ocean swallowing you in the beginnings of grief. He closed his eyes and turned his head to look at the box that was being carried by six Fatui.
"There."
"..."
There was silence, quieter than the deathly snow at night, waiting for its next victim. Your limbs and organs stopped working, halting their movements to stare at the box.
"Stop lying." You whispered.
"I'm not-"
"She's not!" You choked, shaking Tartaglia desperately, "You're lying!"
"(Y/n)." A firm hand gripped your shoulder, Pierro softly yet firmly said, "Please-"
"Did you know?!" You whipped around to face him, eyes wide and pupils pinpricks, breathing erratic - angry - and tears falling furious from your eyes.
"... yes. We got a report-"
"Why didn't you tell me!" You screeched, pushing him away from you and backing away, your hands clenched as fists at your side.
Pierro lowered his hand with a frown, "Because we knew you wouldn't believe us and that you'd react like this."
"She's not- she can't be- she's still in Inazuma you just left her behind. You- you-" You choked on your words and sobs, crying into your sleeves.
You clutched Little Ayin to your chest, its warmth the only comfort.
Without even realizing it, you were running, your name being shouted from behind you before stopping. But you kept running. And running.
And running.
-
You were once again lost in the tundra, snow billowing past. Except now you were accustomed to it, and attuned to the world in a way you nor anyone else could begin to imagine.
However one thing remained the same. You had lost your home. Your family. Once again, it had happened.
You fell into the snow, curling into a pathetic, sobbing ball. Crying into your arms and knees and hands until you couldn't feel your body. Everything was numb, even your heart and mind.
There was no point, no reason, no rhyme or love or life.
You wailed into the snow, into the tundra and wild of Snezhnaya. You screamed and cried like a wounded animal, begging and screaming for someone to bring Signora back. To bring your family back.
Your prayers were only slightly listened to. A warmth floated by your ear and you jerked away. You were laying on your stomach, face numb in the snow, until Little Ayin encouraged you to roll onto your back as it laid on your chest. Right where your heart was beating erratically.
It brought warmth throughout your chest and your raised your hands to gently hold it. Your wails and sobs turning into pitiful sniffles and whimpers. It was as though a limb had been torn off you and you were desperately trying to convince yourself you could reattach it. That you'd still have it good as new.
That Signora would come back. She'd come back she promised she promised, they all promised, she'll come back one day.
You gulped in breathes of cold air, stabilizing yourself in the warmth you pretended was Signora's hand. When suddenly the temperature dropped even more. Your tears turned into icicles after they fell, your entire body numb.
You didn't even move your eyes when you saw a pair of hands come up to wipe at your face. When they moved away, you saw tear and blood stains.
"Dear, you've certainly made quite a mess of yourself." It was the deep baritone of Her Majesty, yet despite that you couldn't bring yourself to care. Your heart didn't jump in recognition and neither did your eyes widen. You lay there motionless.
"Come, it is far too harsh out here for a wounded heart." She easily picked your limp body up, Ayin still laying against your chest, its pulsating warmth weaker than ever.
-
The Tsaritsa noticed a pattern within her kingdom. The cycle of love repeating endlessly, so everlasting even the Raiden Shogun would be envious.
How cruel this cycle was to her subjects and even the ruler of them all. To allow attachments to grow and fester and wrap thorns and roots in one's heart only to have them brutally torn out. Leaving you with nothing but scars.
Right now you were a bleeding wound, not even the most adept and knowledgeable would be able to know how to help you.
Not even the Tsaritsa, who had seen and experienced this pattern countless times, did not know the solution.
But she knew different outcomes. She merely awaited to see which one you would set down.
-
The day of Signora's official funeral you were much quieter. The harbingers gathered around her cold casket. You had grieved alone with her corpse some days earlier, pretending her hand was grasping your own and she was hugging you closely to her chest. That you were missing your old family as she comforted you, back when you were younger and more of a crybaby.
That she'd allow you to be weak again, to be a crybaby again and weep for what you missed.
She had never responded to your questions about her and Rostam.
Her cold casket didn't burn bright red like Little Ayin. It was white in the white snow and ice. Columbina sang with a smile, the other harbingers bickering. Your hand rested against her coffin.
The creeps of the Tsaritsa's power made themselves known, frost creeping their way through the building. You comforted the cold metal of the coffin the same way her hand comforted you. Perhaps you could pretend that somewhere, somehow, she could feel it.
Little Ayin fluttered away from you, landing on the fallen pawn on the chessboard.
"We are gathered here today to remember our dear comrade..."
The words from Pulcinella's mouth made you sick. Your teeth grit in anger.
The traveler had defeated The Fair Lady in a duel before the throne. Childe's words were engraved into your very mind, anger burning through your veins. It was customary for her to be executed after their fight by the shogun.
The harbinger's heartless and stupid words made it worse, your gaze flickering between them like a caged animal ready to strike. You tapped your finger against the coffin, willing yourself to believe it was empty.
"It's time to end tonight's foolish theatrics." Pierro stepped out of the shadows, the frost spreading across the floor away from you, "Right now you have no captive audience."
You unclenched your fist and stood straighter as the harbingers gathered around her. Blood dribbled from your palm where you had cut them with your nails.
Little Ayin rested on her coffin, and it burned away. Your last source of her warmth gone. You had to bite your tongue to keep from crying or yelling.
Pierro's every word hung in the air like the ending of an act to a play. And at the end of the act, the entire building was encased in ice. Never to be disturbed again, Signora would rest in absolute peace.
"As was Her Majesty's benevolence."
But it wasn't until after you had returned to the palace, with a demand to meet with Her Majesty, when you realized she was no where near the vacinity.
The Tsaritsa hadn't frozen Signora's burial site. You had.
"Your Majesty." You faced her, head lifted to meet her eyes.
"Yes, your grace?" She responded with a wicked grin.
"I am no longer a child." Your eyes resembled her eleventh harbinger, Hell having greeted you firsthand, "My birth mother and family cruelly torn away from me, and my mother from this world now dead. My childhood is dead and I wish to accept the gnosis."
Your eyes, wide with youth, were steadfast and set in determination and - the Tsaritsa amusedly noticed - rage.
She grinned, fangs peaking from behind her lips, "Then... I am sorry...to also have you shoulder the grievances of the world. Since you could endure my bitter cold, you must have the desire to burn? Then, burn away the old world for me. That is all I ask of you. Surely you can fulfill it."
The box materialized in her hands and you reached to take it.
"I will burn away the old world." You said through gritted teeth, your knuckles turning white from your grip on the gnosis, "I will cleanse this world, and I will kill the traveler."
The Tsaritsa nodded, her smile never faltering, "Then welcome to the Fatui, your grace. I know you shall become a wonderful ruler for the new world, and a vengeful soldier for your lost mother."
The patterns that love followed truly were amusing.

Synopsis: You were teleported to genshin as their God, however there's also an imposter. You had gold blood and could simply prove your existence with a cut but you decided to let the imposter take your place. Now you get to drink cocktails and watch from the sidelines the chaos it causes.

A/n: sorry this is so short and very rushed.
----------------------------------------------------------
You remembered playing genshin late into the night, falling asleep around 2:34 am. Next thing you knew you woke up to entirely new place. Sitting up, feeling the cool breeze of the air, you were laying on field of grass. You slowly got up, looking around frantically.
"w-wha? Where am I?..." You looked at your hand and realized the change of clothes. It was very basic but comfortable, most of your body covered by a cloak. You decided to put your hood up as you hear the sounds of people.
You decided to follow the sounds of cheers and joyous laughter. You noticed a large groups of people surrounding someone. That's when you see it....it was you.
Your doppelganger stood there with the archons.
That's when it hits you, you were isekai'd into genshin impact. And the fact it has to be a SAGAU scenario too!
You immediately noped out of there and basically ran the other direction, never looking back.
After what felt like hours, you collapsed onto the ground, crying. Laying on the ground in a fetal position sobbing your heart out. Wishing, praying hoping to God this was just a horrible nightmare.
You tried pinching yourself but that didn't work and felt the pain. Which only upset you more and made you cry even harder until you passed out.
Once you woke up, you felt like utter shit, you finally soaked at the idea that this is your reality and you have to live with it.
Usually in these scenarios, the presume imposter is hunted down by the archons and killed. But what if there's no imposter in the first place? If you could change your looks and identity then bingo! problem solved!
However there's an other issue, blood.
You looked at your hand, wincing at the thought.
' I have to check. ' you glance around the area, looking for something sharp like a rock or something. Once you do you, you bit your tongue and make a small cut on your hand.
" ow. " You mumbles, and yup you were right.
Gold blood.
You shook your hand and it regenerate itself back to normal. Throwing the rock aside into a pond.
You walked over to the pond, looking into the reflection.

Years past
It's been years since, our 'beloved' creator has returned.
But in reality it was just an imposter who taken the role of God.
The real "y/n l/n" was now m/n, who owned a wealthy business with their knowledge of modern technology and goods.
They had more mora then they could count, and lived luxuriously.
After they found out the whole god thing years ago, they also realize they had the powers to prove it too!
Shapeshifting being one of them, they simply changed their gender and how they acted and was able to stay hidden.
After that they had to prove a wealthy business man their ideas and get them into fruition and the rest became history.
And now they don't have to worry a single thing.
Besides the annoying piles of papers you had to do, you practically could do anything you wished.
Which brings you to your favorite thing to do, watching the downfall of your doppelganger.
You brought an building at liyue and from your balcony sipping on expensive wine watched the mess that is happening at the temple.
People were starting to realize the imposter wasn't the true creator and lose faith in them. The imposter tried so hard to keep everything in their clutches but it wasn't working.
Even the archons we're starting to be unfaithful to them and things were getting worst by the day. And all you can do is gleefully watch from the window/ balcony in intrigued.
You knew the imposter was going to be executed but you didn't care. Because that could have been you.
After the imposter gets executed, there's a high possiblity the archons will search for you. Until then you sit in your office, scribbling away at papers drinking your wine in peace.
I might write reactions and or part two of this. Idk yet depends how well this does. But I really like this idea, also you know that meme of little girl with house on fire behind her? Yup, that's y/n basically in this au.
Here's a meme I made for my AU.

You were sitting at your desk , foot up, a pen gently tapping on your lips as you thought as what to do. Your adjusted your sunglasses back as you eventually sigh, adjusting the large coat you wore. Setting the pen down and sitting up straight as you put on your thick gloves.
You wore many layers to limit physical contact with others and prevent small cuts to reveal your identity. Even if you regenerate fast, it's a hassle to hide. You eventually stood up peering out the window, looking at the temple outside.
You couldn't help but smile at the mess occuring this time. You open the doors to the outside balcony and leaned on the railing watching the scene play.
The Archons we're getting frustrated at the imposter, with each day they are loosing more of their faith. It's obvious by their body language and attitude.
Especially today is really bad.
But even knowing that the imposter will die, you can't help but envy them. Only because they are using your face so freely. You miss staring at your face and being called by your true name. Not m/n.
But at the same time it's better to be called m/n then be dead.
You scoffed as you eventually met eyes with Zhongli. He noticed you up above, he almost taken aback by your calm demeanour. As if you weren't unfazed but expected this. He looked at Venti and Ei who are still pleading with the creator. When he looks up to see you, you simply disappeared back into the building.
He can't explain it but something is definitely wrong.
---------------------------------------------------------
You were back inside, sighing as you poured yourself a drink, sipping on it quietly glancing out the window before facing at the door.
There was a small knocking.
Your assistant, walked inside your office leaving a pile of papers to do. You also had a meeting to attend to with your assistant over new products and manufacturing.
Thank the gods for those manhwa stories.
Anyway, you looked at the papers Infront of you mindlessly. Before both you and your assistant alerted to a loud noise outside. You set the papers down looking outside, the was a mob of people.
Apparently they are starting to ralley against the imposter. However what you didn't expect is the praying for forgiveness from so many people. You can hear them and it's giving you a headache.
You open the doors and peered out from the balcony, with your assistant behind you.
"It seems their going to execute them." Your assistant says bluntly.
You hummed in response, "Most likely. I don't blame them."
"What do you mean sir/ma'am? Did you predict that this will happen."
You thought for a second, "Did you ever see the creators disciples happy? No, they just did what is told of them. Blinded by the thought of their creator returning. Plus, they themselves saw the truth. But then again I'm not a believer of the creator. I prefer Lady Tsaritsa. "
That was a lie you technically used, often to distant yourself from the whole creator faith. Plus most SAGAU fics don't include her so it's an easy lie to use. Besides giving donations you didn't have to do much.
"sir/ma'am what do you think will happen after the fake God's death?"
You gripped onto the railing, " That, I do not know. Maybe search for the true Creator? Who knows. So much years passed. They could be dead. "
Your assistant just nodded, as the blade fell down on the imposter killing them instantly. Their red blood pooling under them.
On lookers disgusting, baffled and enraged.
Others were pleading for forgiveness and mercy.
The Archons were disappointed with themselves.
But you? Oh, you had the biggest shit eating grin you had on your face.
"Miss Lee, order the finest champagne and ask the maids to prepare me a snack it seems it'll be a long day today. " You ordered, with your arms behind your back.
"Yes Sir/Ma'am." She bowed and quickly left the room. You just watch the chaos around you, it felt wonderful. It was exhilarating, the screaming, crying, anger. You can practically taste it. It was delicious. You practically felt high on it.
Eventually you took a deep breathe and calmed down.
It was going to be a very eventful week.
--------------------------------------------------------
Days later
Due to Imposters death, sales of products and price went up!
Why? It's simple the need of comfort!
It's human nature to use things to comfort themselves after something big as that!
People buy things they want and not need. From sweets, alcohol, materials etc.
Which means more mora, and with more mora that means living well and helping the poor. Which is a big plus.
After setting up the papers and finishing paper work, you can finally relax.
Well that's how it's originally supposed to go.
Now Infront standing in front you in your office was, Zhongli, Venti and Ei.
You cough, clearing your voice.
"Well, I didn't expect to see you three here, now may I ask how can I help you?"
They looked at each other, Venti speaking up first "Grace, why didn't you tell us?"
You blinked at them, " I beg your pardon? Grace? You must be mistaken. I'm just simply a wealthy business man, nothing less and nothing more."
Zhongli placed his hand on the desk, "My grace please, if your upset with us I understand but please don't say that."
You were having fun playing your role, "You do know this is blasphemous do you not? You kill a fake God and next thing I know I'm being called one? I don't wish to fall upon the same fate as them. "
God, you wanted to smile so bad, but you kept your face unfazed.
The three Archons looked remorseful, they going to practically beg on their knees for your forgiveness.
But before they can, your assistant walks in, " Sorry to interrupt but you have a meeting soon. "
You hummed, " Is that so? Well if you can excuse I must be on my way. " They wanted to stop you but you swiftly moved around them and headed out. Following behind your assistant with a smile.
After that, they started visiting you more and more, along side others you didn't expect.
Albedo, Aether, Paimon, Xiao etc.
They kept just standing around your office as you worked. They insist doing for you, but you always brushed them off.
Especially the Archons, they follow you around like dogs with tails between their legs. It was getting bothersome at points.
Even your assistant noticed this and was baffled at what was going on but all you could do is shrug and deny that your the Creator.
---------------------------------------------------------
Eventually you left liyue, to live in your manor and kept your distance. Knowing damn well they are probably looking for you frantically since you are no longer in the office building. And your assistant is taking control of that department.
You're betting at least a day for them to find you.
Laughing at the absurdity of it all, you can't help but feel proud. You hope they are ready for a game of cat and mouse.
Because your always going to be one step ahead of them.
Because where's the fun in revealing yourself now?

All the maids and house keepers were let go, but were given a large bag of mora in compensation. They were allowed to take anything they want from the manor, you were going to sell it as you had no need of it.
which all is left is you and this empty house.
Tick...Tick....Tick.....
You tapped your foot against the floor, your legs crossed sitting on an loafy chair besides a window. You had a golden pocket watch in your hand checking every minute.
"They should be here in one...two... three..."
Bang
You closed the pocket watch swiftly, placing it inside your coat pocket. Patting your chest as you hold your hands together listening the door be swinged open.
It was obvious at this open your the creator, your golden eyes hidden behind your sunglasses. Monsters and enemies not bothered by your presence. It's clear what your identity is. Especially the death of the imposter. The golden eyes they had, have transferred to you much to your displeasure.
You took a sip from a glass of champagne you poured for yourself.
Your "entourage" soon appeared Infront of you, clearly disheveled and worried. They were on their knees grasping at straws, panting like the dogs they are.
Before they could even speak you rose your hand to silence them.
"How about we play a little game...you want me to be your God. Correct? So..." You stood up watching their eyes follow you, as you make way to window hitting the notch open. " If you win this game, I'll be your God. "
They looked at each other confused.
"My Grace, our creator what game are you suggesting?" Zhongli asked.
You hummed, " A game of cat and mouse. To play a game, there must be rules. Here are mine."
* 1. No unlawful killing of innocents, even if they help me don't hurt them. That includes yourselves as well
* 2. The form I am in now will be my main one, only to make it fair for you all. However I'll still use my abilities to my advantage. Including tools.
* 3. All of you are against me and me alone. However to make it fun I'll have sometimes a "spy" on your side. A random chosen person who will give me info.
"As I stated earlier if you catch me, I'll be your God and do whatever you want me to do."
The entourage looked at each other and nod in approval.
Venti looked at you in admiration, " We agree to our Creator's rules! It's obvious this is a test for us."
Zhongli agrees with it, "Our Creator is testing our faith after our failure to noticed the imposter. We don't deserve such mercy."
You kinda stood their like "huh?" As Ei nod to the other two. " We will play our Creator's game and prove our devote loyalties."
You smiled at them, " recruit whoever you wish, there no time limit. " You walked over to the mirror.
"THE GAME STARTS IN 1...2...3! GO!" You immediately jumped out of the window, throwing a confetti bomb at them to disorient them. Gold confetti flying everywhere with dust of glitter and smoke.
The acolytes cover their mouth, shielding their eyes as Venti clear the air.
" CAPTURE THE CREATOR NO MATTER WHAT!" zhongli yells out , pointing towards the window.
-----------------------------------------------------------
You were running, you didn't know where but you just ran. You can practically feel your heart hitting against your chest, the adrenaline pumping through your veins.
God, you never felt more alive then now, this doesn't compare to stressing over exams or phone calls to doctors or setting up your college funds. Hell, not even when you transported to this world as their God.
It was euphoric.
You were practically leaping around in joy.
How can those y/n's in those SAGAU fics be so foolish. You came from the same background as those fics, but why was the world wrapped around your finger?
The strongest people in all of genshin are chasing you! But not to mercilessly kill you, but instead a game you instigated.
A game...how funny is that?
No longer am binded to an execution but game.
How silly.
You smirked at the thought of it, you took off your sun glasses placing it away as you hear the acolytes near by. You hid behind a tree shape shifting into a bird on a branch. Watching them pass by you with determination In their eyes.
Expect one.
Aether.
He spotted you, but he didn't mention it to the others. As they ran into different directions all around Teryet he stayed behind.
You shape shifted back to m/n, "Hello Aether."
He blushed looking at you in shock, " you know my name?" You simply nodded.
"Your the traveller how could I not? So Aether do you wish to be my first spy? "
He nodded almost immediately, " please! I would be honored. "
You hummed, "good, remember not the tell the others. But I have heard alot from you, so you'll be of great use to me." You pull something from your pocket placing it on his hand.
" a gift. " You mumbles as you look at him who's completely awe struck.
" your so much kinder then the imposter! They never did anything like this to me!" He says as you raised an eyebrow in intrigued.
"Is that so?... Tell me more. "
------------------------------------------------------------
Aether set a blanket down for you to sit on as he explained about the imposter. Mostly just venting out his frustrations as you listen in intrigued.
Saying that, they were so cruel and give no rewards always complaining for things to be done. Always in humane and never helped. They were greedy and power hungry. He just kept going and going.
Honestly, thank the gods the imposter was dead because how Aether explains it, you would have killed them yourself.
How dare they use your face to be cruel to the undeserving, how dare they make the weak and poor feel vulnerable.
How dare they disgrace YOUR name.
It disgusted you.
You thank him for the info but he shook his head, " I don't deserve such words I just did as you told. " You just sighed..
" of course, of course. You must return to the others or they might get suspicious of your absence. I'll call you when needed. Also tell your sister and Paimon I said hello. "
He nodded excitedly.
You stood up and nodded at him in approval as disappeared in a dust of gold confetti.
Aether sat there blushing, holding the gift dearly to him , so excited to be the Creator's first spy and vessel.
He couldn't be any more happier.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Days past
Your acolytes were taking this game very seriously.
But you? Oh you were relaxing in a random tavern, drinking a glass. Flirting with some of the women and men in the bar.
If they saw you, they would definitely be jealous.
You laughed at their jokes, as they melt under the touch of your gloved hands.
Of course just when you had the person wrapped around your finger you Venti immediately showed up. You kissed on top of the strangers hand, " sorry to cut it short but I most go. " You immediately dodged his attack, sliding under him and bolted out the door.
" Your Grace come back!" You hear faintly behind you.
Venti was still on you before Xiao came out of nowhere with his weapon.
"your getting faster!" You said as you grabbed onto a railing above you. With your agility, you swing up onto the roof and leaped onto the other building roof.
You stick your tongue out at them teasing them as you fled away.
Xiao sighs, shaking his head as Venti whines , stomping his foot.
-----------------------------------------------------------
You were helping a child down a tree, smiling at them happily playing with them. Gently setting them down, giving them a lollipop.
"Thank you mister!/miss!" The child's says smiling running off to their mother.
You waved bye, before being jumped by lumine and Paimon, immediately dropping to the floor dodging their attack. You immediately kick yourself up , brushing dirt off your coat.
Paimon flying towards you like a missile, but you immediately distracted her with candy.
She immediately took the bait and you shape shifted as a bird and flew away all giddy as lumine and Paimon argued over her taking the candy.
"How can I decline!" Paimon pouted
Lumine groans in defeat, " we were so close! "
It was cute to watch.
-----------------------------------------------------------
You chugged down another glass, laughing loudly in a party your invited to. It was dark and everyone was dancing. Attention on you as you smiled hiding behind a fan, after all you were a rich business man.
After all what's the harm I'm having fun?
You talked to other business partners and people you knew. Hell, you even met up with your assistant and she told you how things are going along. You told her you were busy with external affairs and will make her in charge and raise her salary and holidays off.
She agreed to it, thankful with the benefits she was given. " Thank you sir/ma'am, I can't thank you enough for the generosity you given me. "
" of course, I wouldn't be as successful without your help."
" I'm honored you think so." She smiles.
"go have fun, I have things to do, go enjoy yourself." You said smiling, gesturing her to talk to others.
" of course, thank you sir. " She says leaving, as you leaned against a table.
You pulled out your pocket watch, looking at the time as you step outside. Climbing on top of the roof, starring onto the night sky, looking at the moon.
You heard light footsteps behind you.
You turn around and smile seeing zhongli standing there.
You chuckled, as zhongli has his weapon in hand, he swung it at you, but you catch it. Tossing it aside, wrapping your arm around his waist pulling him close, the other hand on his hand.
"Y-Your Grace?!" He fumbled.
You can tell he's overwhelmed by this, as you hum to the tune played below. Spinning him around in the moonlight, bowing him down. He practically melts to your touch, collapsing on to his knees. You smirked as you gently set him down.
"i-i...uh..."
You blew him a kiss before teleporting away.
He just sat there dumbfounded and flustered.
----------------------------------------------------------
Besides being chased by the most powerful people in genshin. You like wandering around, you didn't need to sleep or eat a lot so it wasn't much of a issue. You liked to explore the world, seeing the shops and stores. Talking with the locals and hanging out with them, everyday was something new. You weren't stuck in some temple being worshipped. Bored out of your mind.
No, you were experiencing Teyvat as a whole. You saw it yourself with your own eyes instead of those of an acolyte.
You are witnessing it first hand the issues and solving them on your own.
Because if you were called as their God , you wouldn't have a chance to do something like this.
It was nice to do everything independently.
You got to do small thoughtless things.
Like giving money to the poor.
Giving sweets and toys to children.
Helping the elderly and unfortunate.
Giving flowers to women and men.
Doing small errands
Going on adventures.
Hanging out with locals.
Getting invited to parties.
The list goes on, and of course with your money, you can spend it luxuriously if needed. As your still running your businesses and going to meetings and such. Just because your traveling doesn't mean you stopped working.
But you know, eventually the acolytes will turn it up a notch and add more people into this game. The question is when. Because so far you had an idea what they are doing due to Aether's spy work.
So they are definitely planning something, but it depends on what.
Time will only tell.

[SAGAU x Mexican! Creator-Reader]

A/n: I love SAGAU but realistically if I was stuck there I would be so sad I can't eat my culture foods ngl. Also y/n is implied first gen. Sorry lol. Also heavy leaning on y/n x Zhongli. Also title is from the song from The Crane Wives.
Also sorry if this sucks, it's kinda rushed and Idk what to do.
TW// obsessive-ish behavior
------------------------------------------------------------
You were transported to Teyvat after staying up all night playing Genshin before eventually passing out Infront of your computer.
When you open your eyes, you weren't in the comfort of your room but instead on gold altar.
People you recognized Infront of you as you sat up in shock. You hand hurting slightly as you looked down at it.
Blood.
In matter of fact, the blood was gold.
You watched as the wound healed itself on its own but your thoughts get interrupted as someone speaks up.
"My Grace, we are honored to have you here. The imposter has been dealt with, we pledge our devote loyalty to you."
You straight up passed out after this revelation.
After that whole fiasco, and you woke up to a bunch of crying acolytes.
Turns out, you were asleep for DAYS.
But you eventually grew accustomed to everything, honestly it wasn't as bad you thought it would be. Besides the weird obsessions and yandere like tendencies But there's one thing you missed dearly.
Home.
You were home sick and even the acolytes can see that. You didn't smile, you look off into the distance.
You miss the parties, music, going to swap meet and family members. Even the novellas your mother watched and eating her cooking.
Hell, you missed the internet.
It was just boring.
Then you got an idea, why not share them with your acolytes?! You get to explain your culture and maybe try to recreate dishes your mom made with ingredients here!
You immediately stood up from your throne excited. You immediately ran out of the temple, with the archons following you panicked.
"Your grace wait!" Zhongli yelled out chasing behind you. " You can't just leave abruptly like this! Please take me with you. "
You stood there, looking at a map you summoned looking at the places. "Sure! Let's go!" You grabbed around his waist and flew to places you needed to go.
He was practically beating his heart against his chest. The Creator was holding him! His ears were burning red in embarrassment.
You literally searched high and low, for ingredients alongside Zhongli. You either found substitutes or you quite literally had to create the ingredients. But once you had everything, you went straight to the kitchen.
The Archons were begging you, that they can someone else do it.
But you declined them, deciding to do it yourself.
You think the easiest recipe to do would be caldo de res. It's the one you seen your mother do countless times. And with your powers it should quicken the pace.... probably
Some of your acolytes were watching you, making sure your safe and do any task you asked.
Venti stood by the door way, along side zhongli and Xiao. Making sure your grace was fine.
At this point your at probably your third attempt at making this but you were really determined to get it right or at least
You took a spoonful and blew on it, taking a sip. And God it tasted like home, you place the utensil down and started to cry.
Venti was first to noticed, and thought you were upset. " Your grace don't cry! We can have some one else do it for you if your tired! "
You shook your head, wiping your tears smile. " I'm not sad, in fact I'm happy. Really happy. Would you like to try? It's a soup my mother always made."
Venti was so honored that the creator would even let him try, let alone a recipe the creators mother made!
Zhongli and Xiao whined, they wanted to try it too!
"Don't worry, you'll try it too!" You smiled, as you got a small spoonful.
Venti blushed, he's truly being rewarded, to be fed by the creator itself. He knows Xiao and Zhongli are practically seething in jealousy over this.
You were oblivious to it, feeding Venti small spoonfuls laughing. " Is it good?" You asked practically shaking in excitement.
He nodded happily, unknowingly teasing the other two in the room.
You made the jealousy even worse when you grabbed a handkerchief and clean up ventis face. Getting to be touched and so close to the creator smelling your perfume/cologne.
The other two pushed Venti aside, practically begging to be fed too.
You stood their dumbfounded but reluctantly agreed as well. Spoon feeding both of them, their faces light up.
They were so happy.
-----------------------------------------------------------
After that, you started cooking other dishes, your acolytes and followers were always so excited to try it.
They saw how much you emotionally improved so they was no discussion over it.
You also started telling them old folktales and customs from your culture. Scholars started to appear and request to write it down and study it. You even taught them Spanish!
Thought they call it, [y/n's] language. And etc.
Sometimes when doing a task, followers can hear you quietly sing songs in your language.
---------------------------------------------------------
Your favorite thing, was reactions. The reactions your acolytes and followers had to your culture. They saw it as sacred, but you saw it as home.
You remembered talking to Zhongli because he remembers all of liyues stories and such.
"Zhongli, would you like to listen to a folktale?" You quietly asked, sitting on your throne. Him standing besides you.
" I'll be honored. " He says with a smile.
"There's different variations of this story depending of the region, but this is how I know it. Usually told to children to scare children into obedience. "
You cleared your voice, " long ago, a beautiful indigenous women fell in love with a man of higher social status. They lived happily together, having two children of their own. One day the man abandoned her, to either marry a more beautiful woman then her or a woman of his status. It depends either way, he leaves her. Her feeling threatened by this, consumed by rage and despair. She drown her children, meeting her own demised along side it. God curses her to wonder as a ghost searching for lost children so she can get into heaven."
Zhongli perks up at the story, " did you curse the woman yourself ?"
"ummm...yes?" You said unsurely.
" I see, a fitting punishment of her. " He says proudly.
" ahem, yes of course. Anyway she's called "la llorona" meaning The weeping woman..forever walking near bodies of water in search of her children so she may enter...umm.. heaven? "
Zhongli, tilts his head " what is heaven? " At this point your hands were sweating. " Ummm it's kinda like Celestia? But instead angels and stuff are there and it's like... Holy. You know? Anyway no more questions."

Random Head Canons and such
If you have curly hair, best believe the acolytes would be fascinated by it. Especially if they give you baths and pamper you.
You would teach Venti songs you know for example: hijo de la Luna.
Sometimes you sing them if you feel like it. Mostly to little kids.
The Adults are definitely not jealous.
The Archons fight each other over being your dancing partner. This is because you needed someone to show how to dance bachata. And ever since they just fight over that spot.
Same for being food taster, they like eating your food and being the first one to try it is such a big honour. You don't know why? Either way they like being spoon fed your cooking.
They all listen to your stories and take your advice very very seriously. It's annoying lol
You taught them your cultures customs, for example birthday customs. You're absolutely not allowed to have your face smashed into cake. They absolutely refuse to do that to you.
Also if you like spicy food, they probably be amazed at your spice tolerance. You'll probably mess with them by eating a whole chile Infront of them.
There are times where you do get very home sick and won't leave your room. When you do, they try their absolute best to comfort you.
Also you have given some of your followers Spanish nicknames for funsies.
Sometimes you and your acolytes would speak Spanish with you. They think it's like the biggest honor to understand your language and speak it with you. But you just think it's nice. Plus you get to have secret convos with people you don't want to know what your saving.
That's all I can think of , off the top of my head lol.

------------------------------------------------------------
It's been a few months since the game has started.
Life was going on as normally, well as normal as a business man working with literally gods chasing you.
Of course even with unlimited stamina, and unmatched skill, it's starting to take a toll on your body. You couldn't explain it, but something was hurting deep inside you.
Maybe it was the fact you haven't been 'you'.
You been stuck as m/n for months! And your kinda starting to forget who you are. Sure it's been a lot of fun to play pretend. Being smug and rich and whatever...but you kinda miss old you.
The person who played genshin for fun! Sure, your no longer financially struggling or suffering but at this point, looking in the mirror is starting to be painful.
You don't know how long you can play this game anymore.
Of course you knew the acolytes and followers are more then devoted to you, willing to do whatever to do whatever you want. To prove themselves to you and win your favor, and this point they added so much people it's starting to get annoying.
Yeah, it's fun but you don't know how much your heart can take it.
Currently your hiding inside a shed, listening carefully to your surroundings outside.
You felt this unbearable sinking feeling in your chest. At this point your tempted to call the game quits because something is very wrong.
You really don't want to though.
Hours passed, sinking in and out of consciousness, you see a person shouting at you trying to warn you something before gasping awake.
You unintentionally fell asleep in the shed, bewildered and stressed out you decided leaving the shed for air was your best bet.
As you clutched onto you stomach you felt very uncomfortable.
You took a deep breathe of air, trying to stable yourself but you can't. You don't know why? Was it you doubting yourself? Who's the person you dreamed of?
Imagines of someone speaking to you popped into your head again, disorienting you.
"Zhongli!" You yelled out, leaning on a wall coughing into your hand, noticing it shine in reflection of the sun.
It was blood.
Your blood.
He immediately appeared, startling you, he looked at you concerned.
You immediately shaped shifted to your original form.
" I-i hate to end the game, but I...I don't feel well I don't think I can continue on." You mumbles to him.
His eyes widen at this, as other acolytes appeared behind him. You started coughing again, and next thing you knew. You vomit out blood, and collapsed on the ground.
You heard screaming, crying, and feeling of hands holding you gently in their grasp.
You also saw that person again briefly, they were stroking your hair mumbling sweet nothings to you.
It felt warm.
Then everything went to black.
-----------------------------------------------------------
You felt comfortable.
Very comfortable.
You blinked slowly, waking up realizing youwere practically drowning in pillows and blankets. Staring at the ceiling above you, before eventually sitting up. You were on this huge bed, gently patting your chest. Noticing the change of clothes.
It was a simple white nightgown, most likely due to your other clothes covered in your blood.
Before you can even think, the door swung open, The archons looking at you.
"YOUR GRACE YOU'RE AWAKE!" Venti yellowed out, practically tears brimming his eyes. " I was so worried! "
"Your highness please, never scare us like that again." Zhongli says, closing the door behind him so others don't barge in.
Ei stood their silently, looking at you with sadden look.
You sigh," Zhongli... explained what happened after I blacked out?"
He nods, " Of course your grace, after...after you passed out, we thought we lost you after so long. We had to shield you and bring you back to the temple quick as possible. We got the best doctors to check up on you. "
You looked at your hands, clenching them into fists before letting go.
"My body was probably stressing out after using so much of my shapeshifting ability. And it magnifying with my identity crisis. It made me too vulnerable.
But who is that person I keep seeing? I didn't even dream of them..."
You sigh, " I apologize for worrying you all, it appears I must pause the game in the meantime. As I need to rest and heal. I had no idea this would have happened. I'll take note of it in the future. "
You tried to get up, but all three Archons immediately set you back down.
" I apologize your highness but we can not let you leave this room. " Zhongli says firmly, tucking you back in. "If you want anything, we will get it for you."
After everything, you just agree with it. "Ei take care of my business, Venti alert the others I'm awake. Zhongli you stay with me. " You quietly ordered them.
They all nod.
You were exhausted even if you just awoke. Som much things already on your mind.
"Zhongli can I ask you an odd request." You mumbles.
"Nothing is odd if it's coming from you your highness. What is your request?" He asked, sitting on a chair besides the bed to keep watch.
You gently lend a hand out, " can I hold your hand?"
He perked up at the request, " H-hold your hand? It would be an honor. " He gently grabs your hand. It felt reassuring to have, as you slowly blink. Falling asleep with your hand interlock with Zhongli's.
You didn't dream of that person again.
-----------------------------------------------------------
You been recovering well, however you practically can not do anything. Like at all.
Also no info could be found of the person you are looking for. Which is huge bummer but you'll look more into it yourself once at full health.
Besides that, due to the accident the Archons are scared you're going to vomit out blood again. They are hovering over you 24/7, like you can't be alone at all. Someone has to be with you at all times.
You couldn't even feed yourself, someone has to feed you by hand while you sat in bed.
It was humiliating.
But you couldn't do much until your strength was fully back.
But there was something you didn't expect....
That was meeting the harbingers.
You were literally in a nightgown, in bed, resting and Dottore was doing a check up on you....
HOW WERE YOU SUPPOSED TO ACT????
You knew of pantalone due to business connects and such as m/n. But the others? How the hell were you supposed to deal with them???
You just sat there, unsure as they asked how your doing and such. It was obvious they wanted to be in your favor.
All you can do is let them, as time passed and you watch the harbingers speak to each other. You paid them no attention as you slowly drifted to sleep engulfed in a warm embrace of it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
At this point, you were so sick of resting.
Besides Ei bringing you papers to read or give your signature to for your business. You practically had nothing to do!
Your been nagged to death by so many people, The Archons, Harbingers, followers etc. The list goes on and your going insane. The amount of times late at night your suffocating yourself with a pillow or punching it before being sedated by Zhongli.
You wanted to rip your hair out!
However the more you slept, the more you talked to 'that' person.
You still don't know who it is, but it's clear they were warning you of your illness.
Which confused you still, but that's a plus up. However that still doesn't change your issues.
1. Who is dream person?
2.Health is not fully healed.
3.Stuck in the temple much to your displeasure.
4. Having to pause the game.
Things are not going as you planned....
You are pacing in your room, Zhongli watching you in concerned.
"Is something wrong your highness? You seem troubled. " He asked but all you can do is pace back in forth thinking.
You looked at him.
"Zhongli, what your opinion in continuing the game? We never finished it." You faced him. He thinks about it, " I-im unsure your highness, believe me, as we want to prove our loyalty to you. You must understand we don't know how much you recovered. We fear of loosing you. "
" so if I were to wish to continue, it's assume the others would decline? "
" Most likely yes your highness. "
You sigh, running your hand through your hair, " call a meeting with everyone involved in the game. " You command yanking the doors open and swiftly walking down the hallway.
Zhongli immediately chases after you, " your highness! I understand you're displeased but your in a nightgown! Barefooted on tile! " He tries to usher you , but you only ignored him.
Others soon noticed you, common folk immediately bowed before you and stepped away. Others started to follow behind you trying to put you back to bed.
You headed to the throne room, and sat at your throne. Not caring if your dressed improperly, you wanted things done.
Aether and Paimon was visiting a noticed you walking in and the archons following behind you as well body guards. He was confused what was going on as more appeared. Soon him and Paimon was ushered in.
You held a meeting.
"As many of you know, I gotten I'll however. I feel I rested enough. I wish to continue the game. " You command, resting your head on your hand watching the others.
Chatter erupted the room.
Some disagreed to this, prioritizing your health above anything else. Other's were arguing for it, as you created the game and wished for this.
It was hotly debated between the folk.
You sat above and watched down at them, listening to their opinions. You honestly wanted to know what to do. Crossing you legs and pondered.
Zhongli was absolutely against this and he took off his coat and place it on your lap. Keeping you covered.
"Ah, thank you." You quietly say. Unknowingly as others noticed this. Them turing to face you.
"Its my pleasure your highness." Zhongli says with a smile, placing a kiss on your hand.
What was meant to be a serious debated turned into an argument over you. And now others were suggesting to give you a piece of their clothing to you.
You couldn't help but laugh nervously and blush at this stupid situation. How the hell are you supposed to manage this stupid mess? This is nothing like running a business.
God help me.
