Finally watched Goncharov (the 1973 one, not the remake with Leonardo DiCaprio)

Let me just say, I LOVED it! This is what film is supposed to be about. The cinematography was fabulous, I love how, as Goncharov did more and more morally reprehensible acts, it got darker and darker. I then also loved how, when he realized what he had done and how there was no coming back, the music just cuts and we get this empty feeling of 'what have I done' before it all goes black!

Also, love how the female characters actually were their own character and not just props!

Truly 10/10, should I watch the remake?

So @ethereal-deadly-clover and I realized that we predicted scenes from Goncharov in our Romeo and Juliet story, and it’s the funniest thing to me at the moment.

Goncharov gonna be great with a femme fatale in the lead role, but of course the producer had to be a misogynist!

This is incredible. But more than anything, I need to know what OP put inside the case.

Today was my last day of work at the library, so I went full Chaos Goblin, photoshopped a Goncharov DVD cover with the poster, screenshots from posts in the tag, part of the Polygon article, and some vague plot insinuations, and I left it on the shelf for whoever to find. Only one coworker knows what I did, and we're friends, so she's all for it.

For bonus points, I photoshopped the spine to look like it had a library spine label on it. Let the games begin.
