"Why should I refer to Grell as she/her when the other characters call him a 'he'?"

For those who are asking this, here's my question for you: if you were a trans person (MtF, FtM, doesn't matter), would you want someone refer to you with your preferred pronouns, or would you want them to just call you what everyone else is calling you?
